Chapter 1180: Superhuman Mode Online Version (Free Chapter)

"Boss! I have a piece of good news and a slightly worrying piece of news. Which one do you want to hear first?" Qian Kun asked.

Chen Mo didn't look up. "The good news."

Qian Kun said, "The good news is that the Superhuman Player Mode is extremely popular, and it's even significantly boosted the sales of Resident Evil. This game is about to become the best-selling horror game in history!"

"Oh." Chen Mo didn't seem too concerned. "That's all standard procedure. What's the worrying news?"

Qian Kun replied, "Well, players are strongly demanding that the Superhuman Player Mode also be opened for competitive games like League of Legends and PUBG..."

Chen Mo smiled. "What's there to worry about?"

Qian Kun asked in surprise, "No need to worry? Does that mean you have a solution, boss?"

Chen Mo nodded. "Yeah, the solution is not to solve it. If you don't solve it, there's nothing to worry about, right?"

Qian Kun: "..."

Chen Mo continued with his own work. "I've said it before. This kind of competitive game isn't suitable for the Superhuman Player Mode because it would affect the game's fairness."

Qian Kun scratched his head. "But, boss, when you first introduced this mode, didn't you say something like, 'Talent' is the biggest unfairness between people?"

"Did I say that? Well, I guess I did say something like that." Chen Mo chuckled. "Don't worry, I will use the Superhuman Player Mode in online games, but not in the existing ones."

Qian Kun: "?"

Chen Mo paused his work. "Existing online games don't support the Superhuman Player Mode mainly because their gameplay and structure are already set in stone. For example, in League of Legends, talent and effort probably account for 70% and 30% respectively, with talent taking up too much of the share."

"Even more often, talent can affect your level of effort. If you keep winning streaks, you naturally learn faster than others, so you'll like the game more and put in more effort. If we forcibly add the Superhuman Player Mode to this game, it would trigger many unbearable consequences."

Qian Kun thought for a moment. "Boss, do you mean we need to develop a new online game to make good use of the Superhuman Player Mode?"

Chen Mo nodded. "Exactly. If we want to use this mode in an online game and let it affect the experience of millions of players, we have to impose restrictions on it and create a dynamic balance."

"In games like League of Legends, because the influence of talent is too great, forcibly adding the Superhuman Player Mode would cause the game to spiral out of control."

"In a new game, talent can only be one aspect of a player's attributes. The Superhuman Player Mode allows us to adjust other attributes, achieving a dynamic balance among players."

Qian Kun frowned. "Dynamic balance?"

Chen Mo smiled. "Dynamic balance means that players might not be balanced. We'll add other attributes similar to talent, like charm, luck, and also background (inheritable and manageable wealth), region, regional characteristics, and even initial combat power, so that players who are completely unskilled in this area can fill their shortcomings and won't be utterly crushed without a chance to fight back."

Qian Kun was a bit confused. "But... doesn't that mean all players are equal?"

Chen Mo shook his head. "Of course not. Because the Superhuman Player Mode doesn't elevate players into superhumans; it just raises their shortcomings to make them normal people, or relatively outstanding people. For example, Zou Zhuo could use the Superhuman Player Mode to clear Resident Evil, but he could never reach Jiang Huan's level."

"Those exceptionally talented players will still break through the pack."

A brief note on the future of this book~

Actually, regarding this book and the story after this, I still have some scattered ideas, but they're not systematic, and it's hard to write them out for everyone to subscribe to.

If there's something I want to write, I might just post it as a free chapter, so I won't charge for it.

In the short term, my energy is still focused on the new book. After Superhuman Players is finished, the next book might return to the path of the All-Around Game Designer. It might be a similar style of writing, or it might switch to a main god construction genre, but the core will still be designing games.

The side stories have stopped mainly because new games are coming out too slowly, and the tropes are limited by the initial structure, leaving little to write about. I hope to release a few more fun new games during this time. Anyway, when I write the next book, I'll definitely try to avoid games I've already written about.

There's still a lot to write in Superhuman Players, and I'm not sure how long it will take to finish. If it goes quickly, maybe I can update heavily for about half a year to finish it. During this time, I'll collect more material and consider some new tropes, striving to present more exciting content to everyone.

Thanks again to everyone who likes this book!

Also, I'm recommending a new seedling: "Opening a Game Hall in Another World." It's very young, but the beginning looks pretty good. If any classmates are out of books, you can check it out.

About the new book "Restarting the Game Era"

A while ago, because the results of "Superhuman Players" weren't ideal, I started a second book simultaneously. Anyway, it was a pretty frustrating decision, and I went through a lot of mental struggle. In short, the new book has been released, titled "Restarting the Game Era." It's currently under 100,000 words, with two chapters a day. If any friends like this genre, feel free to take a look.

As for this book, it's quite different from "All-Around Game Designer." The main difference is that the setting is more rigorous, but relatively speaking, this creates more obstacles for the protagonist, and conflicts and contradictions will be more frequent. It mainly writes about things not covered in "All-Around Game Designer," including some details in the game-making process and games that haven't been touched upon. It can be seen as a future world game-making plus semi-entertainment story, with a small amount of copying. Interested classmates can take a look.

After all, handing food to others and not eating it yourself for a long time—anyone smarter would have noticed something was wrong. But this person never found it strange.

Lin Ke had no choice but to nudge Mei Jiao with her elbow, signaling her to ask, since it was her dream after all.

Qi Ruize's palm, which was supporting her back, was about to continue downward when he suddenly noticed something.

Ming Fei quickly closed her eyes. This was also a countermeasure Xue'er had figured out over the past two days. She thought that vampire demons controlled werewolves through eye contact. If Ming Fei tried to avoid the demon's gaze as much as possible, she might not be controlled. Then the remaining vampires also came down from upstairs, either running or turning into bats and flying down.

Her naturalness instead made Chang Yi feel uneasy. He secretly pulled out his phone and flipped through the WeChat with Old Lin. The video had already been sent, along with his question: "One last time, are you sure you want to show this to her?"

"What are you doing? Don't tell me you're going to do the same thing as last time." Liu Dong instinctively stepped back a few steps.

Kong Yixian, who was warming up, was even happier to hear this good news. Cheng Hao suddenly showing up yesterday had annoyed her, but as soon as Cheng Hao left, Chang Yi received a call inviting Kong Yixian to a commercial match.

But during this time, Aritiel stayed by his side the whole time, whether talking or dining.

Of course, she wasn't trying to seduce him either. Instead, she was looking for an opportunity to jab a needle into his neck.

"That's none of your business!" Every road leads to Rome. When did my affairs become something for you, this sly rabbit, to manage?

He thought about countermeasures. Suddenly, a flash of inspiration struck. With a thought, a coffin appeared before him.

Lin Yao pulled out her chair and sat down in her spot without explaining. She turned her head directly to look at the storyboard she had drawn and the brief story outline.

Gu Yang didn't rush into the next simulation. Instead, he thought about how to escape this dead end.

In the kitchen, Bai Hong, who was staring at a pot of thick white porridge and two trembling soldiers in confusion, heard someone calling him and ran out with a complicated expression.

Zhu Tao, who had been caught and brought back to the Cao Gang headquarters, stood before Wan Yanping with a grim face and recounted the matter.

Today, the Elf Court was filled with laughter and joy everywhere, as lively as a festival. In the square before the court, a grand bonfire party was held.

Frank finally spoke. He took a sip of the wine in his glass, breathed a sigh of relief, and changed the subject.

The hundreds of thousands of demons on Black Wind Ridge were blown to pieces, with various severed limbs and broken arms scattered on the ground, and screams rising and falling.

The most impressive was the High Priest, who, at the cost of his life, summoned an angel. That must have been at least at the Celestial Realm level.

For Li Jun and the other two, they had long disliked Li Li, but the two sides were evenly matched, and fighting would only result in mutual destruction. But today, seeing a force that was evenly matched with them being wiped out like this, they couldn't help but feel a sense of sorrow for the fox mourning the hare.

Besides accompanying Ku, Rose, and Xingzi every day, Bian Yuanyuan also kept in regular contact with Bian Bian'an.

Song Guyan knew all about Dou Nai Fen's temperament—he absolutely refused to eat dog food, whether it was homemade by the police dog base or imported natural grain from outside. He always resisted.

Xisa laughed heartily, making people feel he was arrogant and wild. Suddenly, he slapped the armrest of his chair and stood up. He said coldly, "If this is everyone's consensus, then the peace talks are impossible! I, the King, acknowledge that Qian Po was wrong first and respect the insulted princes and princesses, so I ignored the alliance leader's plea for help and didn't send a single soldier to the Mountain River Pass City.
