Chapter 74: Imperial Dynasty Interactive Entertainment Internal Meeting

Lin Chaoxu returned to his seat and sat down. His phone was on the desk, and on the screen was clearly *I Am MT*.
A V12 account.
A red dot lit up on the friend request tab again. Lin Chaoxu tapped it open and saw it was a new friend request. He received a flood of friend requests every day, and although he deleted lower-level friends daily, he still couldn't free up enough slots.
Lin Chaoxu tapped lightly on the phone screen, lost in thought.
A knock came from the door.
"Come in," Lin Chaoxu said.
A young man in his twenties pushed the door open and entered. He was dressed casually, his hair a bit messy, looking somewhat unkempt.
The young man plopped down on the sofa across from the desk, twisted open a bottle of water, and started drinking, showing no sign of restraint at all.
Lin Chaoxu smiled. "You're here?"
The young man, somewhat dissatisfied, propped his feet up on the coffee table in front of the sofa. "Just for a C-grade designer's mobile game, you called all three of us to a meeting? Is it really worth it?"
Lin Chaoxu didn't mind the young man's behavior and chuckled. "This guy isn't an ordinary C-grade designer, and this game isn't an ordinary mobile game."
Lin Chaoxu walked over and handed his phone to the young man. "This game only launched on the official app store, and its first-month revenue was over 20 million. Plus, based on download estimates, next month's revenue will only be higher."
The young man frowned. "20 million?"
Lin Chaoxu nodded. "That's right. And this game is free to download; it makes money entirely through value-added services."
The young man perked up a bit with interest, took the phone, and played for a while.
He frowned the whole time. Clearly, the simple combat system and art style of *I Am MT* struck him as a bit hard on the eyes.
After checking out the combat system, he focused on the VIP system and rewards, as well as the friends list on Lin Chaoxu's account.
The young man was silent for a moment, then said, "Alright, even though I feel like your design philosophy is outdated, I have to admit that your strategic planning has always been ahead of its time. If you think this thing has potential, then assign someone to give it a try."
Lin Chaoxu smiled. "All three of you have been working on VR games for too long and have neglected the mobile game sector."
The young man handed the phone back to Lin Chaoxu. "Don't expect me to do this kind of dirty work."
Lin Chaoxu nodded. "I've already assigned it to Qiu Bin. Within two months, we should see results."
The young man nodded. "Alright."
Lin Chaoxu asked, "I told you to take a good look at the 'Azeroth Universe.' Did you?"
The young man nodded. "I did. I feel like this Chen Mo creating the 'Azeroth Universe' must have some other motive, since there's a lot more content in it than in the mobile game and the anime."
Lin Chaoxu said, "Mm, good that you've seen it. What do you think?"
The young man shook his head. "Useless. Can't copy it. Don't even think about it."
Lin Chaoxu smiled. "Don't dismiss it so quickly. Discuss it more with the others. Oh, and for this meeting, you three can host it. I won't be going."
The young man raised an eyebrow. "Why?"
Lin Chaoxu chuckled. "It's the era of you young people now. I can still make the final call at critical moments, but my thinking has completely fallen behind in daily matters. If I go, I might limit your ideas."
The young man stood up. "Alright, got it. Don't worry too much. So-called 'genius designers' like this pop up every now and then. Nothing to get worked up about."
Lin Chaoxu smiled. "Of course."
The young man left Lin Chaoxu's president's office and headed toward the large conference room on the same floor.
His name was Qin Xiao, one of the three S-grade designers that Lin Chaoxu trusted most at Imperial Dynasty Interactive Entertainment.
The designers under Imperial Dynasty Interactive Entertainment, though affiliated with the company, spent most of their time at their own experience stores or studios. They rarely came to the Imperial Dynasty headquarters unless there were special circumstances, like reporting work or attending important meetings.
This meeting was called by Lin Chaoxu, hoping that the three S-grade designers, along with several A-grade designers, would thoroughly study the game *I Am MT* and the world-building hidden beneath the anime and the Azeroth Universe.
After all, Imperial Dynasty had taken a silent loss on this game; they couldn't just skip summing up the lessons learned.
Qin Xiao walked into the conference room, and most people had already arrived.
At the three key seats around the conference table, the left seat was Qin Xiao's, the middle seat was occupied by a man in his thirties, and the right seat was taken by a beautiful woman in her late twenties.
Yan Zhenyuan and Qiu Jiang.
These three, all S-grade designers under Imperial Dynasty, barely met a few times a year and only showed up together on special occasions like this.
Around the conference table sat about a dozen A-grade designers, all sitting up straight and proper.
Qin Xiao leaned back in his seat, spun half a turn, and habitually propped his feet on the conference table. "Alright, let's start the meeting. Lin Chaoxu isn't coming."
Yan Zhenyuan sighed helplessly. "Not coming again, huh? That old fox always pushes this kind of thing onto us three."
Qiu Jiang stubbed out her lady's cigarette in the ashtray. "It's not the first time. You two discuss it; I won't participate."
Yan Zhenyuan looked at Qin Xiao, who was playing on his phone on the left, then at Qiu Jiang, who was touching up her makeup with a compact mirror as if no one else was there, and felt a headache coming on.
"Fine, let's begin then."
Yan Zhenyuan organized the briefing materials on the table, which his assistant had prepared in advance. They analyzed some content from the *I Am MT* anime, the game, and the Azeroth Universe.
"The content of this meeting is simple. We'll discuss three questions."
"First question: Is the success model of the *I Am MT* mobile game replicable?"
"Second question: Why did Chen Mo create the 'Azeroth Universe'? Why build such a massive world for the *I Am MT* anime?"
"Third question: Can we find something useful from it?"
"For the first question, President Lin has already arranged for verification, and I also believe the success model of *I Am MT* is replicable, so we don't need to discuss it."
"We'll mainly focus on the latter two questions, which we haven't figured out yet—about the 'Azeroth Universe.'"
"Alright, feel free to speak up."
After Yan Zhenyuan finished, he looked at the other A-grade designers.
The A-grade designers exchanged glances. Most of them had done some preparation, but speaking in front of these three S-grade designers was still a bit stressful.
Finally, a designer in his thirties cleared his throat and said, "Let me go first."
Yan Zhenyuan nodded, signaling him to proceed.
This designer was named Tang Dagang, a relatively senior designer at Imperial Dynasty. However, his thinking was somewhat rigid, and he hadn't produced many standout works. He was one of those designers at Imperial Dynasty who often handled the "dirty work."
Tang Dagang said, "I think Chen Mo is now rolling out the 'Azeroth Universe' for two purposes. First, as a gimmick to build hype for the *I Am MT* mobile game. Second, he has ambition—he wants to turn this into a super IP, preparing for future games."
Yan Zhenyuan nodded. "Mm, go into detail."
