Chapter 628: The Wise Big Boss
As it turned out, Shen Qingzhu really had no talent for learning.
Even after staying here for a year, he still couldn't understand what they were saying. Besides the names of his two sworn subordinates, the only sentences he knew how to say were three:
"Hachi tsu ya!" (Bastard!)
"Kurusu!" (Kill!)
"Yoshi!" (Good!)
Languages—he could only manage these three sentences. For anything else, he had to improvise.
Like now.
Asakusa Ken knelt there, having already explained the situation. The others all turned their gazes to Shen Qingzhu, the Black Assassination Squad's Big Boss, waiting for his decision.
"Big Boss, the Kankawa family's influence has spread into Kansai. They really don't think we Black Assassination Squad exists! We must teach them a lesson and drive them back to Kanto!" Asakusa Ken's eyes blazed with killing intent as he gazed seriously at Shen Qingzhu.
Shen Qingzhu raised an eyebrow, shifting his gaze away from the man to the other men and women kneeling by the hall's side. Their faces were filled with anger as well.
At this moment, although Shen Qingzhu had no idea what had happened, he could already guess—someone had incurred everyone's wrath.
Good, that made things easier.
Shen Qingzhu unhurriedly held a cigarette between his fingers, and killing intent flickered in those cold, indifferent eyes.
"Kurusu." He said calmly. (Kill!)
Hearing these words, Asakusa Ken and the men and women kneeling around him all beamed with joy, shouting loudly:
"The Big Boss is wise!"
Seeing their reactions, Shen Qingzhu secretly breathed a sigh of relief... He'd lucked out again this time.
Just then, Asakusa Ken hesitated for a moment before speaking again:
"Big Boss, there's another problem. The young master of the Kankawa family has also come to Osaka this time. He has a Magatsu Blade in his possession—we stand absolutely no chance against it... Could you bring more people and personally come out to help us hold Osaka?
Relying on us alone, it would be difficult to drive them out!"
Hearing these words, the men and women around them frowned and began whispering amongst themselves, as if discussing something.
Shen Qingzhu was confused.
I'd already said "Kurusu," so why is there still more?
And from everyone's reactions this time, it seemed like this wasn't something easy to handle...
Relying on just those three sentences, there was no way he could bluff through this.
Shen Qingzhu
Shen Qingzhu
Shen Qingzhu
……
The next morning.
Lin Qiye woke up early, changed into a red shirt and sequined western suit nearby, tidied his appearance, and walked out of the room.
The Black Wutong was a barbershop with living quarters upstairs for the employees. Although the place was a bit run-down, there was enough space. Lin Qiye's spiritual感知 swept through the surroundings—Xiao Jin was still sleeping in his room, but both Yuzuri Nana and Uncle had already left their rooms.
He walked down the stairs and found Yuzuri Nana with her sleeves rolled up, seriously mopping the floor of the second-floor dining area. Uncle had brewed himself a cup of coffee and was leisurely enjoying his breakfast by the massive floor-to-ceiling window, gazing at the bustling street outside.
"Why are you mopping?" Lin Qiye asked, puzzled.
"I begged Uncle Kyosuke, and he agreed to let me work here as a temporary worker. He'll pay me every day too." Yuzuri Nana wiped the sweat from her little face and smiled at Lin Qiye. "Even though I won't earn as much as you, Qijiye, I can still help ease some of your burden!"
Kyosuke was Uncle's nickname. He was also the owner of this host club. According to rumors, he had been a very famous host in Shinjuku back in his younger days.
Lin Qiye stared for a moment, then reached out and patted her head. "I can manage on my own. You should rest more."
Yuzuri Nana shook her head. "No, if I don't do anything, then wouldn't I just be deadweight?"
She pushed Lin Qiye back into his seat, grabbed the mop, and said seriously, "Qijiye, you just rest first. I'll handle the work here!"
Lin Qiye helplessly sat across from Uncle Kyosuke, who was sipping his coffee and smiling as he watched Lin Qiye.
"Seems like you siblings have quite the bond?"
"Yeah." Lin Qiye glanced around. "It's this late, shouldn't you be opening for business?"
"Opening?" Uncle Kyosuke raised an eyebrow. "A host club doesn't open in the morning. It's only at night that those lonely... oh, I mean, those troubled women come out looking for comfort.
During the day, even if we opened the doors, no customers would show up."
No wonder Xiao Jin was still asleep.
Lin Qiye nodded, about to say something more, when a crisp doorbell rang from downstairs.
Uncle Kyosuke's expression froze, his face contorting strangely as he stood up, muttering quietly under his breath:
"That's odd. At this hour? Is someone actually coming?"
Seeing the boss stand, Lin Qiye, maintaining his professional demeanor, stood as well, straightened his clothes, and followed him down to the first floor.
His spiritual感知 swept across the door—
The next instant, he froze in place.
