# 587
**Chapter 588: Looking for My Students**
Feeling the terrifying sword aura rushing toward them, all the senior officials swallowed hard.
He Xingwen stared blankly at the young figure and the faint yet overwhelming aura emanating from him, completely petrified...
Hadn’t Zhou Ping already slain a god and vanished into the Dao?!
How was he suddenly appearing here now?!
Was this false information left behind by Ye Fan?
Not just them—even Zuo Qing, standing beside Zhou Ping, was utterly shocked.
He had just returned from Third Uncle’s Homestyle Restaurant. Originally, he thought that after delivering Ye Fan’s message, Zhou Ping would quietly live out the rest of his days there. But to his utter disbelief, in such a short time, Zhou Ping had stormed into the Night Watch headquarters with his sword in hand, demanding that Zuo Qing be appointed as the acting commander-in-chief?!
This wasn’t what he had expected at all!
“Zhou Ping, this is an internal matter of the Night Watch. You shouldn’t—” He Xingwen swallowed hard, trying to argue that Zhou Ping had no right to interfere, but before he could finish, that calm gaze landed on him.
Zhou Ping’s eyes narrowed slightly, exuding a faint killing intent.
He Xingwen’s body trembled!
In that instant, his mind went completely blank. Endless tides of sword aura surged into his consciousness, and his will felt like a tattered leaf adrift in the sea, shredded by the sword aura with no chance to resist.
He was in so much pain he could barely breathe!
Fortunately, Zhou Ping’s gaze only lingered on him for half a second before drifting casually to the others.
Snapping back from that hellish baptism of sword aura, He Xingwen’s face was deathly pale. His back was soaked in sweat, and his legs gave out as he collapsed into his seat, utterly drained.
Seeing He Xingwen collapse like that, the others realized the gravity of the situation. Except for Shao Pingge and one other young senior official, no one dared meet Zhou Ping’s eyes.
Zhou Ping spoke calmly, “I’ll ask one more time… who objects?”
The meeting room was dead silent.
He Xingwen, who had just been scared into paralysis by a single glance, no longer had the strength to speak. And the others, seeing his sorry state, naturally abandoned any thought of joining him in his madness. They sat quietly, not daring to utter a word.
Zhou Ping nodded. “Then it’s settled.”
With that, he turned and walked out of the meeting room.
Zuo Qing stood there in a daze for a moment before snapping back to his senses and quickly chasing after Zhou Ping.
Before attending the meeting, Zuo Qing had anticipated that the hardliners might try something, so he had prepared some countermeasures. But he never expected that before he could use them, Zhou Ping would walk in, say a few casual words, and secure his position as acting commander-in-chief just like that.
To avoid the other senior officials, the two walked all the way to the rooftop before Zuo Qing finally couldn’t help but ask:
“Why did you come back?”
“Didn’t you say I could do whatever I wanted?” Zhou Ping replied. “This is what I want to do.”
Zuo Qing’s expression turned strange. “What you want to do… is make me the acting commander-in-chief?”
“That’s just a bonus.”
Zhou Ping looked into his eyes. “Since Ye Fan chose to trust you, I will too. You’re still a step away from reaching the Human Apex. Until then, I’ll be your backer… just like Ye Fan was mine.”
Zuo Qing was silent for a moment. “Thank you.”
“No need to thank me. From the looks of it, your Night Watch senior officials aren’t exactly united. Even if I’m your backer, I can’t interfere too much in Night Watch affairs. You’ll have to handle it yourself.”
“I understand.” A sharp glint flashed in Zuo Qing’s eyes. “Some people have grown too comfortable in their high positions and forgotten who they are. Ye Fan’s methods were too gentle, but I won’t be. Once I take over the Night Watch, I’ll deal with them one by one.”
“As long as you know what you’re doing.”
“By the way, if someone had actually objected just now, what would you have done?”
“Objected? Then let them object.” Zhou Ping shrugged. “I can’t exactly kill them in the Night Watch headquarters.”
“…”
Zuo Qing continued, “So what are you planning to do next?”
Zhou Ping looked into the distance, silent for a moment, then slowly said:
“Enter the fog.”
“Enter the fog? For what?”
“To find my students.” Zhou Ping said calmly. “I’ve heard what happened to them. Since they disappeared in the fog, I’ll go and bring them back one by one.”
“But you don’t even know where they are.”
“When they charged into the fog to save me, they didn’t know where I was either.”
“The fog is vast. Where will you start?”
“They disappeared near the Great Xia border. It must be the work of some foreign god.” A firm look appeared in Zhou Ping’s eyes. “Since a foreign god took them, I’ll search every divine realm one by one. Even if I have to go to the ends of the earth, I’ll bring them back.”
“Invade divine realms?” A flicker of shock crossed Zuo Qing’s eyes. After a moment, he asked, “And if they’ve already…”
Zhou Ping didn’t speak.
But a cold killing intent surfaced in his eyes.
“If they’re already dead… then I’ll make that entire divine realm pay with their blood.” After a long silence, he said coldly.
Zuo Qing fell silent.
Zhou Ping glanced at him and said, “Once I leave, I don’t know when I’ll return. During that time, the Night Watch will be in your hands.”
“Don’t worry. I’ll take good care of the Night Watch.” Zuo Qing took a deep breath and cupped his fists. “Safe travels.”
Zhou Ping nodded slightly, then stepped forward in a certain direction!
*Ding—!!*
His figure transformed into a streak of sword light, piercing through the void in an instant, charging fearlessly toward the border of the fog.
…
**The Fog.**
**Olympus.**
Beneath the gloomy sky, dense lightning slithered through the clouds, emitting low rumbles.
Several bolts of lightning, like monstrous serpents, tore through the air, illuminating a corner of the world. Above the surging waves, a massive mountain range—hovering between illusion and reality—was bathed in a pale, eerie light.
Deep within that mountain range, a golden throne stood firm atop the highest peak.
Upon that golden throne, a bare-chested old man with explosive muscles suddenly opened his eyes and looked toward a certain direction in the heavens!
The golden scepter in his hand trembled violently!
Along with it, the entire Mount Olympus shook.
Far off at the horizon, a deep crimson night sky was devouring the heavens at an alarming speed, like a sword born of darkness, its blade pointed directly at Olympus.
Beneath that crimson night sky,
a woman draped in starlight, wielding a humming longsword, stepped through the void, walking slowly forward.
She gazed at the vast and majestic mountain range on the horizon, her eyes burning with the fire of vengeance.
She parted her lips and whispered:
“Olympus…
I’m back.”
