**Chapter 454 – Splitting the Spoils**

Lin Qiye and the others carried their luggage into the isolated, run-down warehouse.

From the outside, the warehouse looked to be about the size of three football fields. Its exterior was painted red, and it was unclear what it had originally been used to store. At the top, a few faded white characters read:

—No. 0213 Heavy Equipment Storage.

As they pushed open the rust-covered warehouse door, a cloud of dust burst out, followed by a strange odor.

“Cough cough cough…” Baili Pangpang waved the dust away and couldn’t help but complain, “This comprehensive education location is a scam. It’s way worse than the training camp.”

“After all, we don’t have the authority to mobilize Night Watch resources. They didn’t make us sleep under a bridge, so that’s already something,” Lin Qiye said as he stepped into the warehouse first and turned on the lights. Fortunately, although the facilities were old, the electrical system had been maintained well. All the lights came on brightly, instantly illuminating the entire warehouse.

A vast, empty space appeared before them.

“This place was probably used to store large machinery. After everything was moved out, it was left completely empty,” An Qingyu speculated as his gaze swept across the open area, which was about the size of a stadium.

They continued walking deeper into the warehouse and soon discovered several independent rooms along the edges—likely the living quarters for the original warehouse staff. Though the facilities were outdated, they were still livable and didn’t have any unpleasant odors.

As for bedding and daily necessities, that wasn’t a problem. Baili Pangpang’s pocket still held a stockpile of cups, mattresses, and toiletries from their last expedition into the primeval forest. There was more than enough for all five of them.

To Lin Qiye’s surprise, there was even a kitchen. Baili Pangpang pulled out plates, bowls, an oven, an induction cooker, and other kitchenware from his pocket, stuffing the room full.

After tidying up their individual rooms, each of them grabbed a small stool and gathered in the open space.

“If nothing goes wrong, we’ll be staying here for a long time…” Lin Qiye looked around the warehouse and said slowly, “From what Director Zuo said, it seems the Night Watch higher-ups don’t plan to reinstate us as a special team anytime soon. The duration of this so-called comprehensive education is entirely up to them. We might be here for years.”

“Actually, this place isn’t bad. It’s quiet—just a bit lacking in amenities,” Baili Pangpang said with a grin.

“Hey, didn’t you inherit the Baili Group? Can’t you allocate some funds to improve the place?” Cao Yuan asked, as if suddenly remembering something.

Baili Pangpang shook his head. “The Night Watch’s special task force has taken full control of the Baili Group. I’m just a chairman waiting for dividends. I can’t access the company’s internal funds… This year’s profits won’t hit my account for a few more months. Right now, I’m broke.”

“…” Lin Qiye’s mouth twitched slightly. He spoke with a pained expression, “So I guess the suit money isn’t getting reimbursed…”

“…”

“Forget it. A rough environment isn’t the end of the world. Maybe that’s part of the comprehensive education,” Lin Qiye said, trying to comfort himself.

Then, as if remembering something, he reached into the air and summoned a magic circle. A simple ancient sword and a snow-white long blade appeared in his hands.

“This 【Prayer Abyss】 and 【White Slash】, along with your golden spear, 【Azure Jade Armor】, and 【Elegy】—five ultra-high-risk forbidden artifacts in total—are all your property, Pangpang. I’m returning them to you now…”

Lin Qiye handed the sword and blade to Baili Pangpang, who stared at them for a moment before accepting them.

Then, he reached into his pocket and pulled out the other three forbidden artifacts, placing them side by side on the ground.

“Since they’re all my property, I get to decide how to use them,” Baili Pangpang said with a grin. He picked up 【White Slash】 again and handed it to Lin Qiye. “Qiye, I wanted to give you this blade as a gift back at the training camp. Now I finally have the chance.”

Lin Qiye was stunned. “You’re not keeping it for yourself?”

“I only have two hands. How am I supposed to use so many forbidden artifacts?” Baili Pangpang shrugged. “You guys helped me snatch these in the first place. If we’re brothers, don’t be wishy-washy—just take it.”

Lin Qiye looked into Baili Pangpang’s eyes. After a brief pause, he no longer hesitated and accepted 【White Slash】 with a smile.

“In that case, I won’t stand on ceremony,” he said.

Back at the Baili main tower, he had never used this blade. At the time, it had been given to him by Baili Xin as a bribe to buy his brothers’ lives—using it had only made him feel sick. But now, things were different.

Now, it was a gift from his brother.

Baili Pangpang rested his chin on his hand and stared at the remaining four ultra-high-risk artifacts. After a moment of hesitation, he picked up the golden spear and handed it to Jialan.

“Sis Lan, this 【Celestial Gate】 is for you. Now you won’t have to rely on your fists in close combat anymore,” he said with a grin.

Jialan blinked and curiously examined the golden spear. She had seen its power at the venue—though it hadn’t even managed to knock a single hair out of place, that didn’t mean much. She took the spear, her eyes curving into crescents from her smile.

She patted her chest and gave Baili Pangpang a thumbs-up, her expression clearly saying, “I’ve got your back from now on!”

Baili Pangpang chuckled, then picked up 【Elegy】 and handed it to An Qingyu.

“Qingyu, this thing’s power is terrifying. You’re so smart—you’ll definitely make good use of it. It’s yours.”

An Qingyu took the skull, a strange gleam in his eyes. His face was full of curiosity as he stared at the half-tongue inside, looking like he couldn’t wait to dissect it.

“Thanks,” he said with a smile.

“I’ll keep the 【Azure Jade Armor】 for myself. As for this 【Prayer Abyss】…” Baili Pangpang slowly picked up the ancient sword.

Cao Yuan’s face was full of anticipation.

“…I’ll give it to Qiye!” Baili Pangpang turned and handed the sword to Lin Qiye.
