Chapter 394 – Fatty Saves the Beauty
Molly froze the moment she saw the grinning Zhu Bajie mask.
That golden flash, that sword, that round silhouette… why did it all feel so familiar?
Two more figures vaulted in through the window. The red-cloaked boy in the blue Hanfu—Red Boy—was about to strike when Sha Wujing pressed a hand to her shoulder and shook his head.
“This time, let’s just watch,” Cao Yuan murmured.
Jialan tilted her head, puzzled, but meeting Cao Yuan’s serious gaze she quietly slid the hardwood bow off her back and looked toward Baili Pangpang, who stood up front.
Baili Pangpang stepped to Molly’s side. Beneath the mask his small, bright eyes blinked, then turned toward Sun Luan, who gripped a blood-colored Straight Blade and was poised to attack.
“Seeking death…”
Baili Pangpang whispered. The silver longsword in his hand swept out; countless blades of light split from the edge and surged like a torrent at Sun Luan.
Sun Luan’s hollow eyes stared ahead. Sensing danger, his body tensed and he became a bloody shadow darting through the rain of swords.
In the next instant he was right in front of Baili Pangpang!
The crimson Straight Blade flashed like lightning, its cold edge slashing straight for Baili Pangpang’s throat. The latter’s silver sword lifted to block.
“Watch out!!” Molly yelled.
The blood-colored Straight Blade seemed to liquefy, slipping past Baili Pangpang’s sword before solidifying again, carving a red arc through the air.
Just as the edge touched Baili Pangpang’s neck, searing flames erupted out of nowhere, weaving into a fiery net that caught the blade mid-air.
Sun Luan’s empty eyes flickered—surprised.
Then a huge fist smashed into his jaw. The brutal force snapped his head back; a crack echoed as his jaw dislocated.
Baili Pangpang’s uppercut lifted Sun Luan off the ground. Before the man hit the floor, Baili whipped out a broom from his pocket and swung!
Roaring wind laced with lightning swept the blood-red figure away, smashing through three walls before embedding him in the fourth—utterly battered.
Baili Pangpang snorted, pulled out a [Scroll of Sealing], and tossed it to Cao Yuan and Jialan behind him.
“You two, tie the guy up for young master—fast! No dawdling!” He lifted his chin, every inch the domineering CEO, radiating confidence.
Jialan caught the tape, eyes narrowing at Baili Pangpang’s tone…
Baili swallowed, frantically winking at her.
Jialan didn’t get it. Cao Yuan leaned in and whispered; her eyes lit up!
She glanced from Baili to Molly, understanding dawning, excitement and curiosity sparkling.
Cao Yuan’s masked mouth twitched as he crouched beside her.
“Jialan, you ship CPs too?”
Jialan tilted her head—CP?—but kept watching the pair with sparkling eyes.
Cao Yuan glanced at Sun Luan and his expression turned odd.
“Jialan, fatty didn’t finish him—he’s still moving!”
Covered in blood, Sun Luan pushed off the floor, clutching his Straight Blade, swaying as he tried to rise.
Jialan’s face darkened. She spun and punched his chest, slamming him back down. The floor cracked beneath him.
Sun Luan spat blood and passed out.
Nearby, Zhu-Bajie-masked Baili Pangpang strode to Molly, flicked a flashy sword flourish, cleared his throat—
The dull thud cut him off.
They turned. Jialan sat on the floor, waving “nothing happened,” then gestured “please continue.”
“A-hem…” Baili coughed and looked at Molly. “Miss, are you hurt?”
Molly studied him oddly. “Baili Tuming, you don’t recognize me?”
“Who’s Baili Tuming?” Hands behind back, he gazed out the window serenely. “I am Marshal Tianpeng.”
“……”
Molly reached to yank the mask off; Baili caught her wrist.
The warmth of his grip startled her.
In the moonlight, behind the mask, Baili Pangpang’s eyes gazed at her, deep and serious.
“Do you wish me to be Tianpeng… or Baili Tuming?”
Crack!!
A crisp bone snap sounded nearby.
Jialan stared, thrilled, tape wrapped tight around the unconscious Sun Luan’s arm.
Cao Yuan’s mouth spasmed. “Jialan, easy—his arm’s broken…”
Flustered, Jialan loosened the tape, then looked back at the pair: Don’t mind me—keep going!
Baili Pangpang: …
Molly’s cheeks flushed. “Baili Tuming, what act is this? Let go or I’ll shock you!”
Baili released her, lifted off the mask, and smiled with that familiar plump face.
“Molly, long time no see.”
Seeing him, Molly felt dazed, as if the perilous fog didn’t exist and they were back in the safe training camp.
“What are you doing here?” she couldn’t help asking.
