# 359
**Chapter 359: Breaking Through**
Clang—!!
Lin Qiye kicked off the cliff face, leaping high into the air. A wave of darkness spread across the sky as the twin blades on his back unsheathed in unison!
Killing intent surged!
The forty-plus soldier ants surrounding the queen shrieked and charged at Lin Qiye without hesitation, climbing over each other’s bodies like a black wave rising from the ground!
With a flick of his fingers, Lin Qiye sent the two Straight Blades whistling through the gaps in the black wave, shooting straight toward the fleeing queen!
Just as the wave of soldier ants was about to crash down on him, a reverse summoning spell activated, and Lin Qiye vanished into thin air!
In the next instant, he reappeared behind the wave, both blades in hand!
Even at his incredible speed, the queen was faster. Though half her body had been blown apart, a pair of translucent wings sprouted from her back. With a single flap, she blinked forward hundreds of meters!
In a flash, she reached the end of the cliff!
Just as Lin Qiye thought she had nowhere left to run, a swarm of red worker ants burst from a hidden hole at the base of the cliff. The queen shrieked, and the workers formed a red defensive line behind her. Then she dove into the hole and vanished.
Lin Qiye hadn’t expected another ant nest at the cliff’s end. His expression darkened as her figure disappeared.
But there was no turning back now.
Blades in hand, he charged the red worker ants. His black eyes flared with golden light, as if twin furnaces burned behind them.
“Out of my way!!!”
Divine might erupted from Lin Qiye’s thin black shirt, slamming the worker ants to the ground. He flashed past them like lightning and plunged into the hole after the queen!
At the same time, a golden sword arc slashed across the sky.
“He followed the queen into that hole!” An Qingyu, who had been watching Lin Qiye, pointed to the entrance.
“Cut a path—we’re going in too!” Baili Pangpang controlled the golden sword light, dodging worker ants one after another. Sweat dripped from his face.
Though his mental cultivation had reached the River Realm, carrying four people with [Yaoguang] was still taxing. He also had to watch the cliffs for incoming ants.
Cao Yuan stood at the front of the sword light, hand on his hilt, hesitating.
He couldn’t guarantee he’d stay sane once he drew. If he lost control, he might drag the others into hell. But if he didn’t draw, they had no way through the swarm…
An Qingyu’s main attacks were ice and threads. Baili Pangpang had to pilot [Yaoguang]. The task of breaking through fell to him.
Cao Yuan took a deep breath—then another figure stepped in front of him and pressed down on his hilt.
“If you use your Forbidden Ruins, you’ll lose control, right?” Li Deyang smiled. “Leave it to me. In terrain like this, I can still be useful…”
Cao Yuan hesitated, then stepped back.
The golden sword light weaved past the ants, racing for the hole. The workers Lin Qiye had stunned were recovering, reforming their line, blocking the entrance.
Li Deyang sucked in a breath and leapt from the sword light!
The others froze.
“No!”
As Cao Yuan reached for his blade to save him, something shocking happened.
Li Deyang plummeted toward the ground in front of the red workers. Just before they swallowed him, he slammed his palm into the earth!
Boom—!!
A dull roar echoed through the ravine. Jagged cracks spider-webbed from his feet, linking both cliff faces. The ground collapsed!
The miles-long fracture shattered again!
Every giant ant lost balance and tumbled into the chasm.
So did Li Deyang.
Weightlessness seized him. He whipped the rope at his waist toward the cliff, trying to anchor himself, but a falling worker ant knocked it aside.
His face went white.
Suddenly an invisible thread coiled around his waist and yanked him upward!
He looked up in shock. An Qingyu stood on the side of the sword light, giving a shy smile as he reeled in the [Ghost Thread].
Li Deyang flopped onto the sword light, legs like jelly.
“Uncle Li, that was sick!” Baili Pangpang flashed a thumbs-up. “Respect—for guts alone, I salute you!”
“How did you make the ravine floor collapse again?” Cao Yuan asked.
Li Deyang glanced at the cracks below and gave a bitter smile. “My Forbidden Ruins creates fractures through vibration. I’m too low-level—usually I can only crack houses. The geology here is fragile; I didn’t expect it to work so well.”
Baili Pangpang blinked. “Is your Forbidden Ruins called [Myriad Resonance]?”
“How’d you know?” Li Deyang asked.
Cao Yuan chuckled. “The girl he used to like had the same one.”
Baili Pangpang shot Cao Yuan a glare, then turned back. “That’s a top-tier高危 Forbidden Ruins. With that potential, how’d you end up stuck in backwater Anta County? You should’ve made at least a second-tier Night Watch team.”
Li Deyang gave a helpless shake of his head and said nothing.
Baili Pangpang took the hint and focused, guiding [Yaoguang] straight into the hole in the cliff—and vanished inside.
