**Chapter 348 – Come Have a Bite**

“We’ll camp here for the night.”

Lin Qiye walked into a relatively open clearing in the forest, carefully scanning it with his mental power before speaking.

It was already deep into the night. They had been in the forest for nearly six hours, having fought red giant ants and been chased by paper figures, all while enduring the relentless cold. Their minds were inevitably exhausted.

“We’ll rest for four hours, then continue exploring.” Lin Qiye glanced at the time, then turned to Baili Pangpang. “Take out the tents and camping gear.”

“Got it!”

Baili Pangpang responded cheerfully, reaching into his pocket. In the next moment, he pulled out two large black tents and placed them in the center of the clearing.

With sturdy metal frames, thick outer layers, and insulated interiors, the two tents looked expensive at a glance.

Lin Qiye examined the tents for a moment, a hint of surprise in his eyes.

He had figured Baili Pangpang would buy high-end gear—after all, he was the young master of the Baili Group and had no shortage of money—but even he had never seen tents this luxurious.

“Tents are set. Now let’s arrange the night watch schedule.” Lin Qiye pondered for a moment. “Qingyu and Cao Yuan take the first two hours. Pangpang and I will take the last two. Sound good?”

No one objected. Lin Qiye nodded. “Alright, then let’s get some rest—”

“Wait!” Baili Pangpang suddenly interrupted.

Lin Qiye and Cao Yuan looked at him in confusion. Only An Qingyu sighed silently, already knowing what Baili Pangpang was about to do.

“I’m not done setting up yet.” Baili Pangpang grinned and reached into his pocket again.

The next moment, to Lin Qiye and Cao Yuan’s stunned disbelief, he pulled out two two-meter-wide soft Simmons mattresses and stuffed them into the tents.

Thankfully, the tents were large enough that the mattresses didn’t affect the interior space.

Next came four velvet blankets, four “Old Man’s Joy” rocking chairs, two high-powered electric heaters, four diesel generators, twenty-four barrels of diesel, four high-end Alienware desktop computers, four mahogany desks, four gaming chairs, plus air purifiers, humidifiers, floor lamps, a small tea table, and a purple clay tea set…

After stringing a dozen glittering star-shaped lights around the tents, Baili Pangpang clapped his hands, stepped back, and nodded in satisfaction.

“Perfect!”

The warm glow of the luxury floor lamps illuminated Lin Qiye and Cao Yuan’s frozen faces. They stood before this “mansion-level” wilderness survival setup, watching Baili Pangpang casually torch a piece of snowflake beef with a flamethrower, completely petrified.

“You… you…”

“What’s wrong?” Baili Pangpang scratched his head in confusion. “I’ve got all the survival essentials, right? Did I miss something…?”

Suddenly, as if remembering something, he slapped his thigh.

“Oh crap! I forgot to buy Lao Gan Ma!”

Lin Qiye’s mouth twitched. He slowly turned to An Qingyu, who closed his eyes and let out a long, helpless sigh.

Elsewhere in the primeval forest.

In the cold wind, Li Deyang, wrapped in a dark red cloak, crouched on the muddy ground. The beam of his flashlight traced the tracks on the ground as he squinted, confusion flickering in his eyes.

“Uncle Li, is this not the right path?” Chen Han asked, noticing Li Deyang’s expression.

“It is. Those giant ants are massive, and all their weight is on their six legs, so their tracks are easy to identify. It went this way…”

Li Deyang slowly stood up and continued, “But strangely, besides the ant’s tracks, there are also four sets of human footprints…”

“Human footprints?” Chen Han was stunned. “Who else would enter the forest at a time like this?”

“Based on the soil, they entered before the ant did. It’s likely the ant spotted them after capturing Tingting and followed their trail, trying to catch more prey in one go.” Li Deyang narrowed his eyes. “This thing… it’s smarter than it looks.”

“Four people…” Chen Han seemed to realize something. “Uncle Li, could it be the four from earlier today…?”

“Possibly.” Li Deyang nodded.

“Then they’re in danger,” Chen Han said grimly.

Li Deyang sighed, staring into the dark forest ahead, frustration in his voice. “These kids… they just don’t fear death!”

He gripped his Straight Blade tightly and, with Chen Han behind him, dashed deeper into the woods.

Inside the warm, cozy tent, Lin Qiye, lying on the Simmons mattress, suddenly opened his eyes.

He sat up slowly, checked the time, wrapped himself in a thermal coat, put on his hat, and stepped out of the tent.

“Time to switch shifts. You two go rest,” Lin Qiye said to An Qingyu and Cao Yuan as he approached the heater.

Then he went to the other tent and kicked awake Baili Pangpang, who was sleeping like a log.

Once the two had gone to sleep, Lin Qiye warmed his hands by the heater. Baili Pangpang, rubbing his sleepy eyes and yawning, began pulling food from his pocket.

“Qiye, do you prefer coffee or milk for breakfast?”

Lin Qiye’s mouth twitched. “Coffee.”

Baili Pangpang pulled out a half-meter-tall coffee machine and dumped in a pile of coffee beans like they were free. He connected it to the generator, and a few minutes later, handed Lin Qiye a steaming cup of coffee.

Sitting in his “Old Man’s Joy” rocking chair, Lin Qiye looked at the steaming coffee, cookies, and a fragrant snowflake steak on the small table in front of him, lost in thought…

This… wasn’t quite the wilderness survival he had imagined.

He shook his head, clearing his mind, and slowly picked up the knife to cut the steak.

But just as he made the first cut, he froze.

He looked up toward the edge of the forest.

There, a red giant ant was carrying an unconscious girl on its back, staring straight at him—whether at Lin Qiye himself or the steak in his hand, he couldn’t tell.

Lin Qiye pondered for a moment, then forked a piece of sizzling beef and held it up with a smile.

The expression on his face seemed to say:

Want a bite?

Come here.

Come, and I’ll let you have a taste…
