# 329
**Chapter 329: The Descent of Yiyu**
Above the Purification Chamber.
A hazy, illusory light appeared out of nowhere, tearing open a rift in the real world. A man in a sleek tailcoat stumbled out, dusting off his clothes, a flicker of rage in his eyes.
“[Spirit Medium]… You forced me into this!”
He looked down and immediately spotted several figures locked in fierce combat with Wu “Old Dog” in the Purification Chamber’s exercise yard. His brow furrowed slightly.
“They still haven’t killed him? What the hell are these idiots doing?”
He slowly raised his hands. A shimmer of illusion began to condense between his palms. The barrier between reality and nightmare melted at Yiyu’s touch, and the sky above twisted violently.
Yiyu’s eyes narrowed like a conductor’s. With a gentle downward sweep of his hands—
**BOOM—!!**
Dozens of meteorites shattered the wall of reality, roaring down from above Yiyu. Friction ignited them into blazing fireballs, carrying terrifying kinetic energy as they plummeted toward the Purification Chamber!
**True Nightmare: Starfall Calamity.**
“Let everything be destroyed… SpongeBob!!!”
Yiyu sneered, but halfway through his sentence his face changed. He clapped a hand over his mouth, limbs trembling uncontrollably as if suppressing something, pain flashing in his eyes.
At the same instant the meteorites veered wildly apart like scattered flowers. Most crashed into the surrounding sea; only a few still hammered toward the Purification Chamber.
Yet even those few were more than the current Purification Chamber could withstand.
Its defenses lay in ruins; the missile-intercept system had long been crippled by Xie Yu’s intrusion. With only conventional arms left, they couldn’t stop so many falling rocks.
Several burning meteors streaked straight for the Purification Chamber!
…
Exercise yard.
Wu “Old Dog”, battling Second Seat and Fourth Seat, suddenly looked up at the plummeting fireballs, his expression darkening.
“Yiyu? He came too?” Wu muttered.
In a flash, Second Seat stepped through space to appear behind him, hand chopping down and shredding a wide swath of the surrounding air.
Wu flickered through the darkness, dodging, then crooked a finger. Stones and steel nearby blackened and shot toward Second Seat.
Driving Second Seat back, Wu shot skyward. Darkness poured from him like ink in water, blanketing the Purification Chamber’s heavens.
Mid-air he stretched out his hands, eyes erupting with thick darkness intent on tearing open the sky itself.
He would not let the Purification Chamber be destroyed.
Absolute darkness crawled over the falling meteorites. Cracks webbed across their surfaces. With a violent clench of Wu’s fists the rocks exploded mid-air!
**BOOM—!!**
Blinding fire blossomed, only to be swallowed by darkness. The calamity meant to raze the Purification Chamber was torn apart by Wu “Old Dog” bare-handed.
A stifled grunt escaped him; his face turned pale.
Long combat plus tearing apart meteons had nearly drained his mental power—after all, he wielded a genuine God’s Ruins, no mere Forbidden Ruins!
A spatial slit ripped open above him!
Second Seat dropped through, clapped hands, and six huge transparent cones of space condensed before his chest, hammering Wu downward!
**Thud-thud-thud—!!**
The cones drove Wu into the ground. The yard quaked; a round crater yawned open amid billowing dust.
Coughing, Wu rose in his blue-white patient gown—shoulders and abdomen soaked in blood, tangled hair dripping crimson.
Before he could steady himself, chunks of black steel wall peeled away, twisted into thick pillars, and slammed into him!
**BOOM—!!**
The metallic clang reverberated. The pillars shrank, locking every joint—turning into a steel cage pinning Wu in place.
Fourth Seat stood, spat bloody phlegm, and limped toward the trapped man.
“Damn, you’re tough, huh?”
Seeing the metal begin to darken under Wu’s corrosion, Fourth Seat frowned and sent more pillars flying to reinforce the cage until Wu looked like a steel dumpling.
Wu lifted his blood-streaked face, met Fourth Seat’s eyes, and said calmly:
“Three against one, yet I still killed one. Without Yiyu’s help, you’d be dead too… The top seats of the Believers aren’t much.”
Fourth Seat’s face darkened.
At the start Wu had instantly killed Sixth Seat, then kept chasing Fourth Seat while fending off Second Seat’s ambushes. Had Yiyu not unleashed True Nightmare, Fourth Seat would be a corpse.
“So what? Now you’re in my—”
**CRACK—!!**
Before he finished, a thick bolt of lightning crashed from the gloom. In the blink of an eye space behind him twisted; Second Seat yanked Fourth Seat by the collar and dragged him into another space!
The lightning struck half a meter in front of Wu, carving a terrifying crater where Fourth Seat had stood, sparks flying. Had he remained, he’d have been fried.
A hundred meters away Fourth Seat stumbled from a rift, nearly collapsing. Staring at the smoking pit, his face was white.
Beside him, Second Seat looked skyward, eyes grave.
“Looks like we won’t kill Wu Tongxuan today…”
Seven silver pillars plunged from the clouds, lightning crackling around them like seven heavenly punishments!
**Clang-clang-clang-clang-clang-clang-clang!!**
They slammed into the Purification Chamber, embedding meters deep and ringing the steel-bound Wu. Arcing electricity wove a protective net around him.
Atop each pillar, a black cloak snapped in the wind.
