**Chapter 230: Spider Knight**

Under the night sky, a figure cloaked in a dark red cloak raced between the rooftops. He pulled out his phone and dialed a number.

"Are you still at the tavern?"

"Yeah, what’s up?" An Qingyu’s voice answered.

"You’re close to the airport. Head there now. Find the plane taking off at 3:20 a.m.—the tavern owner is on it."

An Qingyu raised an eyebrow and glanced at the time. "Five minutes. I can make it. What about you?"

"I’ve got my own way."

"Alright."

An Qingyu hung up and burst out of the tavern. Ignoring gravity, he ran straight up the vertical wall, leapt onto the roof, and sprinted toward the airport at breakneck speed.

After analyzing the mysterious lizard corpse, he hadn’t just gained super regeneration—he’d also unlocked insane speed and mobility.

It was thanks to this that even Hongying hadn’t been able to catch him when he delivered Lin Qiye’s message during New Year’s.

---

"Five minutes left… at this rate, I won’t make it." Lin Qiye mentally calculated the distance, his brow furrowing.

He wasn’t the only one. Hongying wouldn’t make it either. Even if she drove like a maniac, the distance was fixed. No car could reach the airport in five minutes.

All they could hope for was that the airport could ground the plane in time.

But would the tavern owner really just sit and wait?

Lin Qiye took a deep breath. His right hand pressed into the air. Under the dark sky, a brilliant magic circle bloomed from his palm. A moment later, a small boy in a cyan caretaker uniform stepped out.

On his chest plate was a string of numbers:

—002.

A Zhu looked around, dazed. Before he could react, Lin Qiye scooped him up and shouted:

"Transform!"

A Zhu: …???

"Di-Director, what are you saying?" A Zhu tilted his head in confusion.

"Return to your true form. I need to ride you," Lin Qiye said seriously.

A Zhu’s jaw dropped. His little heart took a critical hit. With a trembling voice, he said:

"B-But I’m still a kid… Director, if you really need to ride someone, go for Li Yifei! He’s sturdy! He can take it!"

Lin Qiye glanced at him. "Don’t be ridiculous. Li Yifei’s speed doesn’t compare to yours. Aside from Hongyan, you’re the fastest of all the caretakers. You’re our only shot."

Among the current caretakers, Li Yifei was a lovable oaf. His true form wasn’t slow, but it wasn’t fast either. And he’d recently gained a lot of weight—his speed had probably dropped even more. The Rubik’s Cube could distort space, but not for long.

If Lin Qiye could summon Hongyan, her Flame-Vein Earth Dragon form could tunnel through the earth and reach the airport in thirty seconds. But she was in the "Sea" Realm—beyond his current summoning limit.

After weighing the options, A Zhu was the only viable choice.

A Zhu blinked. "Director… so that’s what you meant?"

"What else would I mean?!"

"Oh! Okay!"

A Zhu exhaled in relief. His small body rapidly expanded, transforming into a massive white spider. Lin Qiye swung onto its back. The Soul-Weaving Spider’s eight legs blurred as it sprinted forward.

It leapt from the rooftop, shooting a web strand that latched onto a distant building. With a swing, they soared hundreds of meters.

Lin Qiye finally got to experience what it felt like to be Spider-Man.

Compared to his own leaps, this was much faster. But riding a spider through the air? It felt… odd.

Most people rode dragons, horses, or tigers. He got a spider.

And a juvenile one at that.

But this wasn’t the time to overthink it.

Thanks to A Zhu’s speed, they reached the airport in minutes. Just then, Lin Qiye’s phone rang again.

"How’s it going?" Lin Qiye shouted into the phone.

"Minor issue. I found the plane, but it took off before the tower could issue a no-fly order," An Qingyu replied, wind howling into the mic.

Lin Qiye froze. "So you’re…"

"I didn’t make it inside. I’m clinging to the underside."

In the night sky, An Qingyu—like Spider-Man—was stuck to the belly of the plane. He glanced down at the shrinking airport, his black coat flapping wildly in the wind, eyes full of resignation.

"The plane’s already taken off…"

Rumble—!!

Just then, a plane roared overhead, flying low—so low Lin Qiye could clearly see the black-clad figure clinging to its underside.

The deafening engine noise blasted past.

That was it!

Without hesitation, Lin Qiye hung up and pointed at the rising plane. "Can you make it?"

"Probably."

The spider shot a web strand skyward. It latched onto the plane’s tail. In an instant, both man and spider were yanked into the air!

The web retracted, pulling them closer to the plane—and farther from the ground.

Lin Qiye clung to the spider and looked down. Familiar buildings shrank rapidly. The lamp-lit roads looked like golden ribbons draped across the dark city.

As they climbed, he could even spot his home, his high school, the Peace Bridge office…

They were nearing the ritual zone Wu Xiangnan had marked.

Once the plane reached a certain altitude, it leveled off instead of climbing further—clearly avoiding the clouds.

Lin Qiye wasn’t surprised. If the tavern owner wanted to perform the ritual in the air, he couldn’t fly too high—otherwise, he wouldn’t be able to tell if he was still within range.

So the plane began cruising low over Cangnan City.

Thanks to the spider’s efforts, they finally landed on the side of the plane’s tail. The roaring wind whipped Lin Qiye’s cloak wildly. The spider glanced down, shuddered, and its legs began to tremble.

"Sa-sa-sa-sa-save meeeeeeeeeee—!!"

Lin Qiye sighed, about to comfort it—when the spider suddenly went limp.

It had fainted from fear.

Its massive body lost all grip, and the wind and gravity dragged it—and Lin Qiye—into a sharp sideways plummet!
