Chapter 1880: Crazed Universe

"Hm?"

At the operating table, An Qingyu, scalpel in hand, seemed to sense something. She frowned and looked toward the mist wall.

"Is it Yu San… [Chaos]?" An Qingyu set down the scalpel and rubbed her temples with one hand, as if processing some information.

"That guy… he's so insane he doesn't even care about factions?" An Qingyu had thought that Yu San, locked inside the hospital, would be safe. From Lin Qiye's perspective, as long as he killed all his remaining clones, the main body would inevitably be reborn in Yu San inside the hospital, thus trapping himself permanently.

But he never expected that the one who ultimately killed Yu San was [Chaos]!

"It seems it's only a matter of time before He escapes from there… another wild card in the mix…" An Qingyu sighed deeply.

Just then, a popup suddenly appeared on the electronic screens surrounding the operating room.

It was the most ordinary human-computer interaction box, displaying a line of Ming-type small text.

— Trouble?

An Qingyu caught the popup in her peripheral vision and gave a slight nod.

"Yes."

The second popup immediately followed, covering the first:

— Is there anything I can do?

"Not at the moment." An Qingyu pointed to the Go board beside the keyboard. "Compared to all these complicated things, you'd better restore your framework step by step… start by calculating all the possibilities on the Go board."

After a brief moment of silence, the third popup popped up abruptly:

 Meh ( ̄へ ̄)

Asylum of the Gods.

"Still can't kill it…"

Standing at the ward door, covered in blood, Lin Qiye watched [Chaos] rise from the pool of blood, his frown deepening.

The white coat silently devoured all the blood, the chaotic ward returned to its original state, and [Chaos] stretched lazily, a row of big white teeth grinning from ear to ear on his black face.

"You haven't come to kill me these past few days… too busy outside? What did you do with your clones? Tell me about it?"

Lin Qiye couldn't be bothered to engage with this lunatic. He simply threw Him back into His ward and locked the door, turning away with an expressionless face toward the other end of the corridor.

"Qiye, what's the deal with this jinx? Is He some kind of cockroach? How is He not dead after all that?" Li Yifei couldn't help but complain when he saw [Chaos] jumping around lively again.

"I don't know… the problem should be with Him. There must be something we're unaware of, and His progress bar is always stuck at 95%—maybe that's why."

"Sigh… well, at least this guy's locked up here, so He can't get out for now. Let's just wait Him out." Li Yifei said helplessly. "Besides, the only patient left in the hospital is Him, plus three spheres. He can't kill anyone even if He wanted to."

Lin Qiye slowed to a stop.

He glanced back at [Chaos]'s ward, frowning as he spoke.

"To be honest, given how bizarre this guy is, even if He walked straight out of this hospital, it wouldn't surprise me too much…"

"Really? The hospital is under our control, how could He possibly cause any real trouble?"

"Can't say for sure…"

Lin Qiye shook his head. Just as he was about to descend the stairs, his peripheral vision caught a glimpse of the adjacent ward, and he stopped.

He gazed at the tightly closed doors of wards one, two, three, and four, deep in thought.

These four wards housed the four Crazed Universes that had been under [Chaos]'s control four years ago. Back then, [Chaos] had used these four Crazed Universes to corrupt the Seraph Michael… and ever since they were locked in these four wards, Lin Qiye had rarely bothered with them.

In the first two years, Lin Qiye had attempted to treat these four universes, but he discovered that no matter what he did, these universes wouldn't respond at all. Even the treatment progress bar showed "?", which, in Li Yifei's words, meant even the hospital itself deemed them beyond saving.

Lin Qiye had no intention of wasting more time treating these universes. But just now, a thought suddenly flashed through his mind.

According to what [Chaos] had said, all four of these universes were ones that had been completely overrun by the Cthulhu Mythos… if they lost this time, Earth's universe would most likely end up the same way. But conversely, could they find some clues about the Cthulhu Faction's mythology within these already-corrupted universes?

If they could understand how the Cthulhu Mythos had corrupted these universes in previous invasions, perhaps they could draw some lessons on how to respond?

This thought lodged itself in Lin Qiye's mind and wouldn't leave. After hesitating for a moment, he decided to take the risk.

After all, he had Earth's "anchor" on him, so he wouldn't be easily corrupted by those crazed energies. Besides, there wasn't much else for his main body to do here. If he could actually gain something from this, it would be a tremendous breakthrough.

"Qiye, why did you stop?" Li Yifei, halfway down the stairs, looked back疑惑ly at Lin Qiye standing at the ward door.

"You go ahead… I have something to take care of."

"Sure, call me if you need anything."

As Li Yifei's footsteps faded away, Lin Qiye turned and walked to the door of Ward Four, slowly pressing his palm against the door handle.

In chronological order, the Fourth Universe in Ward Four was the most recent target conquered by the Cthulhu Faction. If there were any clues to be found, it would have the most well-preserved ones.

Lin Qiye took a deep breath, suddenly twisted the door handle, and pushed hard!

Dark wind surged from the gap between the door and the frame, nearly blowing Lin Qiye away entirely. Endless roars and whispers flooded his mind in an instant.

Lin Qiye barely stabilized himself, using his hand to shield against the black wind. Through the narrow gap between his fingers, he could see that the once-pristine white ward had completely fallen into void. Countless dark red stars flew chaotically through the space, and a terrifying狰狞 face roared madly in the depths of the void.

Lin Qiye's brow furrowed tightly. Instead of retreating, he pressed forward, stepping into the ward, then pulled the door shut behind him!

The wind in the corridor instantly ceased. The entire hospital returned to its original stillness, as if nothing had ever happened.

By now, Lin Qiye had entered the fourth ward. He stood on void that emitted an eerie red glow, countless stars streaked past him, and Crazed,诡异 energies filled every corner.

Damn… how am I supposed to find anything here?

Just resisting the roars and whispers had already consumed nearly all of Lin Qiye's mental energy. He had a premonition that if he stayed in this Crazed universe for too long, even with Earth's "anchor" on him, he would eventually be corrupted by these energies.
