Chapter 1620: Migo Tide
That voice, Lin Qiye would never mistake it.
At Shangjing University, he had clashed with these creatures several times—that piercing, sharp sound could only belong to the Migo.
But... how could Migo appear here?
Besides Lin Qiye, the other Knights of Holy Judgment members present also heard the screeching from outside the cathedral. All four knights commanders stopped simultaneously.
"Damn, a 'Mystery' appearing at this moment?" Taylor's expression hardened. He turned to look through the shattered stained glass windows—within the mist-shrouded night sky, clusters of pink, grotesque figures were approaching.
"Qingyu..."
Lin Qiye stared at the Migo drawing closer, murmuring to himself.
In his mind, the cold, unfamiliar figure he had seen atop the Heavenly Court palace during his soul state resurfaced... An unprecedented obsession surged through him. His brow furrowed tightly, and his body transformed into a blur, crashing through the glass and vanishing in the direction from which the Migo were flying.
"Taylor, should we go eliminate the 'Mystery' or chase that Great Xia man?"
Among the remaining Knights of Holy Judgment members, someone asked hesitantly.
Taylor's brow creased. He glanced at the dark mass of approaching Migo in the sky and said grimly, "That Great Xia man has already left the cathedral. There's no need to pursue him—Lady Saint's safety comes first! Those 'Mystery' auras are strong, and there seem to be many of them. We cannot let a single one breach this cathedral and disturb Lady Saint's slumber!"
"Yes!!"
The many knights present rushed toward the cathedral's exterior, leaping onto nearby heavy motorcycles, securing their armored helmets, gripping the handles tightly. The rumbling of engines shattered the silence of the night!
Taylor glanced at his right arm, still bleeding. His expression grew阴沉. He quickly walked to a burning candle beside him. The patterns on his armor flashed, and a gust of wind lifted the flame. A roaring fireball instantly consumed the stump where his right arm had been severed!
Taylor's eyes snapped wide open. He gritted his teeth, veins bulging on his neck, his face contorted in agony.
A moment later, he violently dispersed the fireball. Where blood had been flowing from his severed arm, the flames had cauterized the wound, forming a blackened scab.
Sweat dripped down Taylor's face, but he ignored the near-fainting pain. He snatched a knight's sword from the ground and strapped it across his back, then swung onto a heavy motorcycle. Single-handedly pulling the handle, he roared into the night, charging toward the swarm of Migo!
Tap—tap—taptaptap—
Drops of rain streaked across the silent night, shattering into countless tiny droplets as they struck London's ruins.
If one looked closely, within those rapidly falling drops, wisps of gray energy could be seen. As the rain fell, an inexplicable chill slowly spread across the ruins.
Beneath some neglected rubble, a gray-skinned mouse quietly rose, poking its head up to sniff the air, then selecting a direction and vanishing from sight in an instant.
...
Meanwhile,
At the top of London's Thames Bridge.
A cloaked figure slowly raised his hood. Countless pink Migo spiraled around him before soaring outward in all directions, directly covering the entire city of London.
He raised a fingertip, catching a droplet of gray rain, seeming somewhat puzzled.
"Lin Qiye? Why would he be here..."
An Qingyu furrowed his brow in thought, then shook his head. "Never mind. Since he doesn't have the [Mortal Divine Realm] now, he can't sense my location anyway... I'll just go around him."
With those words, he turned to look in another direction,
Where beams of bright motorcycle headlights pierced the gray rain curtain. Amid low rumbling engines, dozens of armored knights fanned out, charging directly into the swarm of Migo. Surging flames instantly engulfed a stretch of ruins.
An Qingyu's eyes narrowed slightly. He pulled his hood lower, murmuring to himself:
"Found them..."
...
BOOM—!!
Through the curtain of gray rain, a knight rode his heavy motorcycle over a断墙 jutting diagonally from the ground, using the terrain to launch into the air. He swung his knight's lance, accurately thrusting toward a Migo's head!
The white armor patterns blazed consecutively. Flames intertwined around the spear as it struck the Migo's pink carapace without any flourish. The raging fire directly transformed into a fireball, consuming the creature.
The Migo's shrill shriek echoed from within the fireball.
The knight landed his motorcycle steadily on the ground, coldly glancing at the fireball before pulling the handle and charging toward the next Migo.
"These 'Mystery' may emanate Klein-realm fluctuations, but their actual strength isn't much." He stated calmly.
"Don't underestimate them, Barron." The second motorcycle kept close behind him. Another knight reminded him, "These 'Mystery' seem different from any we've encountered before, and their numbers are extreme. We must handle this carefully and not let a single one slip through."
"I know. Maintain formation, don't straggle in the—"
The last word "alone" hadn't finished when spacetime behind this knight suddenly distorted!
A massive figure, its surface partially charred, burst from the distortion. Its elongated limbs easily pierced Knight Barron's shoulder, hooking him and lifting him clean off his motorcycle!
The sudden attack startled all the knights in the rear of the formation. As several more limbs pierced through Barron's body, his agonized screams shook the heavens. The next moment, the tentacles on that fleshy head slithered like serpents into his seven orifices!
Barron's screaming stopped abruptly.
The Migo dangled the armored corpse, appearing to feast on his brain. The knight's body dangled limply from the limb, like a lump of mud swaying in the wind.
Though the Knights of Holy Judgment had battled through countless adversities within the mist, this silent attack and gruesome killing method were new to them all. Seeing it happen at such close range, an unprecedented fear seized their hearts!
"KILL!!" A knight in the middle of the formation suddenly snapped back to awareness, roaring furiously. A Western knight's sword swept forward, encased in frost, slicing toward the Migo's neck and cleanly severing its head!
But immediately after, the headless Migo spun诡异的ly. A razor-sharp limb pierced directly through this knight's forehead!
In the span of a single blink, two knights had died at the hands of the same Migo.
Even though the combined attack of the remaining knights eventually tore the Migo's body apart, the shadow of that moment continued to loom over every knight's heart.
"There... there are still so many!" A knight's voice came out hoarse. The others turned to look—
Beneath the night sky, hundreds upon hundreds of Migo connected into a pink tide, roaring forward!
