Chapter 1490: Old and Weak

Olympus.

"Why hasn't the God King returned..."

Before the golden throne riddled with cracks, numerous Olympian Chief Gods had gathered here, gazing toward the distant sea.

Chronos's sudden return had caught everyone off guard. All of them knew the old God King's power. If Zeus had angered him, there wouldn't be a good outcome. The gods had even begun considering how to respond when the old God King reclaimed control of Olympus.

But strangely, the two had left Olympus for nearly a whole day now. Even if Zeus had gone all-out against Chronos, at least one of them should have returned by now?

"The Law of Time has vanished?!" Sea God Poseidon gazed at the sky, as if sensing something, and an expression of astonishment appeared on his face. "The old God King is dead?! How is that possible?!"

All the Chief Gods present simultaneously sensed the anomaly in the Law of Time, utterly shocked.

Zeus had killed Chronos? How had he managed to do that?!

Si Xiaonan, disguised as a Lesser God, stood at the edge of the gathered gods, her brow tightly furrowed.

She had thought Chronos's return would put Olympus back on the right track, but never in her wildest dreams had she imagined the God of Time would be dead... Zeus alone definitely couldn't have done it. Could神明出手help from a Cthulhu Faction deity?

Before anyone could process the news of Chronos's death, the entire Olympus erupted into chaos. Just then, a figure stumbled down from the sky and stood before the assembled gods.

It was an elderly man with snow-white hair, his upper body bare. His frame was like a withered leaf in winter—thin and haggard, his skin covered in age spots, his features wrinkled as if he were one breath away from death.

The gods all stared at this unfamiliar figure in bewilderment. Someone studied that aged face for a long while before speaking in shock:

"God King?!"

The gods were terrified!

This dried-up old codger on the verge of death was actually Zeus?!

The original Zeus, though appearing as an elderly man, was still in his prime by divine standards given their long lifespans. It was evident from his muscular build and tall frame...

But now, he had become like this?!

To think, he had only left Olympus for a single day—how could he have aged so dramatically, as if he were several hundred years older than even Chronos?

"Cough, cough, cough..." The aged Zeus coughed violently, streams of blood sliding down his back. Only then did the gods notice—a blackened hole in his back, directly over his heart. It looked as if he'd been pierced by some kind of blunt object, missing his vital organ by mere fractions.

The remnants of time swirled around the wound, the surrounding flesh already entirely necrotic and continuing to spread outward.

This was the wound Chronos had left behind.

"God King... are you alright?" Poseidon's brow furrowed tightly as he stepped forward to support him.

A flicker of anger appeared in Zeus's clouded eyes. His withered, branch-like arm shoved Poseidon's helping hand away. The wrinkled face bore an all-too-familiar stubborn expression. "Get lost..."

Poseidon opened his mouth, then silently stepped back.

Si Xiaonan's eyes glinted sharply. She swiftly turned, retrieved a sturdy black staff from the edge of the peak, and respectfully offered it to Zeus.

Zeus glanced at him from the corner of his eye, took the black staff, and used it as a crutch, inching his way toward the golden throne at the mountain's center.

The Olympian Gods flanked either side, exchanging glances, but no one moved to support him again.

Zeus walked for a full half-minute before finally reaching the throne. His aged body trembled as he lowered himself onto the cracked seat, gazing down at the Olympian Gods below. His chest rose and fell gently.

"Chronos... has been killed by me." Zeus spoke slowly. This simple statement sent a tremor through every god's heart.

"Next... I will... continue to govern Olympus... Do any of you... have objections?"

Zeus's weak voice drifted across the peak in broken phrases. Though his volume was soft, everyone could clearly feel the chilling malevolence concealed within his words.

"We obey the God King's command in all things."

Si Xiaonan was the first to step forward, bowing respectfully.

Zeus's eyes narrowed slightly, and a hint of approval flickered in their depths.

"We obey the God King's command in all things." The remaining Olympian Gods exchanged glances, then spoke in unison.

A fallen camel is still bigger than a horse. Though Zeus had been reduced to this state, he was still a Supreme God after all. No one knew how much combat power remained within that broken body.

Even if some among them harbored rebellious intentions, they wouldn't be foolish enough to reveal them at this moment. They would slowly probe Zeus's limits and make their plans accordingly.

"Good..." Zeus's eyes narrowed, a murderous intent emanating from that withered body. "Secretly mobilize all Olympian deities. Prepare to follow me... and kill Brahma!"

Brahma's betrayal of Zeus—the Thunder God had long wished to tear him to pieces. Now that he was in this condition, if he didn't take advantage of whatever strength remained in him to kill Brahma first, by the time his state deteriorated further, the entire Olympus might as well be renamed "Temple of the Gods."

If the evil incarnation of Brahma, restored to full power, saw that Zeus had been reduced to this state—wouldn't he be crazy not to take the opportunity to strike and take over Olympus?

"Yes." The gods responded solemnly.

Zeus's gaze swept across the assembly, finally landing on the Lesser God that was Si Xiaonan.

"You, from now on, will attend to me personally."

"Yes!"

A sharp light flashed in Si Xiaonan's eyes as she immediately agreed.

With a solemn expression, she walked behind Zeus's golden throne and stood at attention, gazing down at the numerous Olympian Gods dispersing below as they began preparing to kill Brahma... If this were happening outside, with their group of Chief Gods plus this decrepit Zeus, whether they could kill Brahma was uncertain. But this was Olympus!

On their own territory, if Zeus was determined to keep Brahma here, the latter would have nowhere to escape.

Si Xiaonan gazed silently at the busy Greek gods below. A storm of blood and violence was about to sweep across Olympus.

...

Great Xia.

Chennan Pass.

An Qingyu leaned against a cold metal platform, staring at an entire wall of formulas and maps. She rubbed her tired eye corners and let out a helpless, weary sigh.

Over the past few days, she had collected various materials that might retain traces of temporal information, working day and night on calculations and derivations. Yet despite all this, there was still not a shred of a lead... The residual information on those objects was far too scant to pinpoint a spatial-temporal location.

"Qingyu, you should rest for a bit."

Jiang Er floated by the wall, her eyes full of心疼, her palm gently raised. A stainless steel basin with a hot towel inside floated up automatically and landed beside An Qingyu.

An Qingyu grabbed the hot towel and pressed it against her haggard face. After a long while, she slowly lowered it, her bloodshot eyes filled with bitterness.
