Chapter 1354: After the Wish
"Michael?"
Sun Wukong sensed the approaching sacred aura and spoke in surprise.
Michael's gaze swept across Lin Qiye and the others, then quickly locked onto a certain point of emptiness, his eyes narrowing slightly.
"I've finally caught up... where can you run to this time?"
Michael reached out and gripped the void. A sacred blade of light condensed in his palm, miracles flowing across his six pristine white wings. With a single flap, he shattered the void and vanished on the spot.
Not long after Michael disappeared, dense cracks bloomed across the sky above Asgard, as if something was about to break through.
Bang——!
With a deafening roar, fragments of black void scattered in all directions.
The heavily wounded Odin glared at the six-winged Seraph standing atop the clouds. Crimson worms continuously repaired his ravaged organs, his expression grim beyond measure.
"Pesky ghost..." Odin spoke with murderous intent.
"I told you, even if you fled to the ends of the earth, I would still catch up to you." Michael said calmly.
The worms in Odin's eye sockets trembled slightly. After only a moment's hesitation, he transformed into a blood-red streak of light, once again shattering the void and racing toward the horizon.
Having consecutively fought the "Present" and "Past" Goddesses, as well as Bragi who had broken through to the Supreme God realm, Odin's current state was terrible. Facing the Seraph Michael at full strength, he had virtually no chance of victory...
Michael's six wings gave a gentle flap. A streak of brilliant golden light sliced across the sky, chasing after Odin's form before vanishing from everyone's sight in an instant.
"Where's Bragi?"
Not seeing Bragi, Lin Qiye immediately scanned the surroundings.
Near where he looked, a blood-soaked figure helplessly fell from the sky, crashing into the nearby temple ruins. Dust and debris billowed into the air.
Lin Qiye and the other two rushed over immediately. Through the hazy dust, Bragi stumbled to his feet from the ground. There was a gaping bloody hole in his chest, and a broken harp lay by his feet, dim and lifeless.
"Cough cough cough cough cough..." Bragi wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and smiled at the three who had rushed over.
"Though I'm quite badly injured, Odin's not in great shape either... How about that? Still a bit impressive, right?"
"Impressive." Sun Wukong nodded, speaking with complex emotions. "You've surpassed us... Bard."
Bragi took unsteady steps, swaying as he walked to Sun Wukong's front. He took the blood-filled Holy Grail, and despite the blood and grime covering his face, his eyes shone brilliantly bright.
"This should... be enough, right?"
By sacrificing all the remaining Norse gods, the Holy Grail had been filled to capacity with the wine. This also meant it could no longer absorb any more offerings.
This was the limit of a "Supreme" artifact.
Bragi took a deep breath. His trembling hands cradled the Holy Grail, raising it high into the blood rain...
He slowly closed his eyes, and a hoarse voice emerged:
"Idun... return to my side."
The moment the words fell, silence descended once more.
Everyone's gaze firmly locked onto the surface of the Holy Grail. Suddenly, a brilliant radiance burst forth from the bloodstained cup's rim!
BOOM——!!
A thunderous roar exploded from the clouds!
"It's working?!" Lin Qiye's heart leaped with joy at the sight.
Everyone looked up. The originally grayish sky had somehow turned pitch black. Lead-colored dark clouds pressed down heavily over Asgard, like the end of the world.
"Something's not right... what is this aura?" Sun Wukong looked up and sniffed the air, his brow furrowing.
A bolt of black lightning flashed across the sky. The lead-colored clouds began slowly rotating, like an enormous vortex suspended high above. And at the center of that vortex, stood Bragi clutching the Holy Grail!
The swirling clouds gradually descended. Black lightning roamed between the clouds. A terrifying pressure that made one's entire body shudder suddenly swept across every corner of Asgard!
Lin Qiye had never felt such pressure.
Over all these years, whether facing Chief Gods, Lesser Gods, or even "Supreme" pressure, he had experienced them all head-on... yet the lead-black cloud vortex overhead gave him a sensation that far surpassed them all.
Not only was there the suffocating oppression, but within these dark clouds was an indescribable sense of eeriness and discord, making anyone who looked feel deeply unsettled.
As the cloud vortex descended, a massive dark silhouette gradually took shape at its center...
It was an eye.
An eye without a pupil, pale and lifeless.
...
Asgard's border.
A golden domain unfurled from within Michael. The holy sword in his hand blazed like golden lightning, instantly piercing through the emptiness ahead.
With a soft sound, the heavily wounded Odin was forced out of the void. The next moment, he was trapped within the Mortal Divine Realm. Surging golden light continuously washed over his body. The crimson worms that had spread throughout him immediately let out piercing screams.
Waves of worms peeled away from his body, falling into the golden light, turning into wisps of white smoke that dissipated.
Odin stood alone in his shattered divine robe within the Mortal Divine Realm, like a drifting duckweed in a storm, his face deathly pale.
"Odin... you have nowhere left to run." The six-winged Michael drew the holy sword from his divine realm, walking toward him step by step, speaking calmly.
Odin let out a cold laugh. Just as he was about to say something, a thunderous explosion echoed from the distant horizon.
Michael frowned and turned to look.
When he saw the slowly rotating, descending lead-black clouds, his pupils constricted sharply!
"What is that..." he murmured to himself.
...
"What the hell is that?" Lin Qiye's expression turned grim when he saw that enormous pale eye.
He didn't know what this eye was, but one thing was certain—this thing was definitely not Idun! Bragi had wished for Idun to return... so why did this monster appear?!
Just as Lin Qiye was reeling in shock, that pale giant eye at the vortex's center suddenly opened a gap.
A milky-white sphere of light drifted down slowly from the sky...
