Chapter 1328: Pursuit on the Ice Sea
"God of Mischief?"
After hearing Lin Qiye's description, Jinian's eyes went wide with shock. It was as if she had thought of something. "You gave the Pill of Immortality to..."
Si Xiaonan nodded silently.
Jinian looked at Si Xiaonan with a complicated expression.
She basically knew Si Xiaonan's entire plan. She also knew that Si Xiaonan had intended from the very beginning to return the Pill of Immortality to Great Xia. After all, this elixir was what she had stolen—in her personality, there was no way she would have kept it for herself... Something else must have happened in between.
"Fine, it's fine. Someone had to eat it eventually." Jinian offered her words of comfort.
Si Xiaonan forced a bitter smile. "By the way, I want to borrow something from you."
"What?"
"【Gjallarhorn】."
Upon hearing this name, Jinian's gaze sharpened. "Xiaonan, are you really sure about this?"
"Mn." Si Xiaonan nodded calmly.
"The side effects of that thing are no small matter. You..." Jinian was halfway through her sentence when she stopped, then smiled bitterly. "I almost forgot. You ate the Pill of Immortality... Forget what I said."
Jinian stopped trying to dissuade her. She merely turned to the people behind her and said:
"Give her the 【Gjallarhorn】."
A knight carrying a black case stepped out from the crowd and solemnly placed it in Si Xiaonan's hands.
Seeing Jinian hand over a Chief God-level artifact so readily, Si Xiaonan felt a warmth in her heart.
"Thank you." Si Xiaonan said sincerely. "After everything is over, I'll return it to 【Utopia】."
"Don't rush. It was something I snatched anyway." Jinian patted Si Xiaonan's shoulder, her expression serious. "Whatever happens, protect yourself."
"Rest assured. Right now, there's basically no one in this world who can kill me." Si Xiaonan smiled.
Si Xiaonan slung the black case over her back, her gaze falling on the passage leading to the deepest level in the distance.
"I'm going to the deepest level of the Dungeon. There are several Chief God-level prisoners there. I want to try talking to them...
You should go ahead.
Asgard is about to become extremely dangerous from here on."
Si Xiaonan's fingers brushed against the black case containing 【Gjallarhorn】 on her back. Cold light flickered in her eyes.
Jinian raised an eyebrow. "Go? I'm not leaving.
I've caused trouble for divine kingdoms plenty of times. This kind of excitement? I'm not missing it!"
Si Xiaonan looked at the shocking bloodstains covering Jinian's body and shook her head. "Your injuries from the Dungeon are too severe... You really shouldn't take the risk."
"It's fine! I've got a tough constitution. This is nothing." Jinian waved off the concern, slapping her own chest hard. She accidentally pulled at her wound and spat out a mouthful of blood.
Jinian coughed up a blood clot, clicked her tongue, then turned to face the knights and others with a serious expression.
"You all go back first... The President here is going to play a bit longer."
The members of the Oath Society: ...
Play a bit longer?!
President, you look like you're on the verge of death!!
A thousand horses galloped through the minds of the Oath Society members.
"But, President..." The knight seemed to want to say something, but Jinian cut him off.
"What? You're not going to listen to the President? You're all injured, so just go. I'm really fine... Oh, and after you get back, book me the biggest private room at the Utopia Club. When President finishes wrecking Asgard and comes back, we're throwing a proper celebration!
And find me some handsome hosts to pour drinks!"
Under Jinian's unquestionable tone, the knights and others exchanged glances and无奈地笑了笑。
"…As you wish."
Jinian had already said her piece. No matter how much they objected, it would be useless... After all, their purpose for this trip was simply to rescue the President from Asgard's hands. Now that the person was out, whatever she wanted to do was her prerogative.
"Do you all want to leave together?" The knight was about to depart when he caught sight of Lin Qiye and the others and asked.
Lin Qiye pondered for a moment, then shook his head.
"We're not in a hurry. We are, after all, a special team from Great Xia. Since Great Xia's main force hasn't left yet, we can't leave either."
Seeing Lin Qiye say this, the knight simply nodded and turned, leading the Oath Society members directly toward the open Bifröst.
Si Xiaonan rode Fenrir and descended directly to the deepest level of the Dungeon, disappearing from sight.
The Dungeon, now a chaotic mess, fell silent. Lin Qiye and the others stayed behind with Jinian, facing a group of Lesser God prisoners who had escaped from their cells, in an awkward standoff...
"What are you all staring at?!" Jinian casually凝聚 a new cloak out of pixels, wrapping it around her bloodied body, and glared fiercely at these Lesser Gods.
"Your injuries... are you really okay?" Lin Qiye asked tentatively. "Qingyu is half a doctor too, if you want her to take a look?"
Jinian gave An Qingyu, who stood nearby with an enigmatic smile, a strange look and shook her head repeatedly. "No way... I don't want to be dissected. My constitution is special. These injuries really are nothing. I'll heal in a bit."
Lin Qiye didn't push the issue. Remembering the mysterious black case Jinian had handed to Si Xiaonan earlier, he asked with curiosity:
"By the way, what is 【Gjallarhorn】?"
…
Mist.
Antarctic Ice Sea.
In a dead, icy world, a massive iceberg the size of a third-tier city was drifting slowly across the azure waters.
Through the swirling gray mist, in the center of this iceberg, a figure wrapped in a blood-red divine robe stirred, its eyelashes trembling as it opened its eyes soundlessly.
Countless red insects writhed and crawled, forming a grotesque red eyeball that seemed to pierce through the emptiness before it, fixing upon some distant location.
"Loki is dead?" Odin's brow furrowed slightly as he murmured to himself.
He sat upon the iceberg like a stone statue, and only after a long while did he let out a sigh, his form rising slowly.
"Relying on conventional methods to control Asgard clearly isn't working... Loki, you have disappointed me."
Odin's towering figure stood firm atop the misty iceberg, the red insects in his eyes writhing frantically, creating a chilling, eerie sight.
Suddenly, as if sensing something, he turned to look toward a certain point in the mist.
"You just won't let go..." An expression of disgust surfaced in Odin's eyes. He hesitated for a moment at his location, then took a step, his form vanishing into nothingness in an instant, disappearing into the vast ice sea.
Fifteen seconds later.
A brilliant golden light streaked across the sky, crashing down onto the iceberg where Odin had stood like a cannonball. Sea water mixed with large fragments of shattered ice was forcibly blasted into the air!
Six pristine white wings extended from within the golden light. Amidst the swirling ice shards, Michael's furnace-like eyes blazed intensely.
"He got away again."
He冷哼一声, raised his head, and looked toward the direction Odin had fled. His brow creased slightly.
"That direction is…"
