# 1295
Chapter 1295
Lonely
Great Xia.
Sunken Dragon Pass.
A violent hurricane churned up the heavy seawater, like a roaring beast in the darkness, crashing against the towering walls of Sunken Dragon Pass.
Spray shot upward, thunder rumbled faintly in the distance—on the watchtower atop the outer wall, two figures cloaked in dark red stood as steady as rocks.
" Why is the storm so fierce tonight?"
A Night Watch set down his telescope, speaking through the howling wind.
Beside him, another Night Watch frowned. "Indeed, something's not right. It's been a long time since we saw waves this high..."
"All警戒小组 report status."
"1号小组, all normal."
"2号小组, all normal."
"3号小组..."
Successive voices crackled through the walkie-talkie. Hearing that no abnormalities had been found at any position around Sunken Dragon Pass, the man nodded:
"With waves this fierce, even patrol aircraft can't take off. Everyone stay alert! Don't miss a single anomaly!"
After speaking, the man turned his head, glancing at the inner wall and the brightly lit Sunken Dragon Pass stronghold beyond. Despite the late hour, countless military personnel and Night Watch were busy processing various matters.
He was about to resume monitoring the surroundings when a piercing alarm suddenly echoed across the silent heavens!
Vrrrm—Vrrrm—Vrrrm!!
Crimson warning lights flared simultaneously from every watchtower on the outer wall, dyeing the dark seawater with a tint of red. The man's face instantly changed!
"An S-Class war alarm?! How is that possible???"
"What's happening? We didn't detect anything!"
"It's the Dream Net... The Dream Net at Snowchill Pass has been breached! Something is approaching us from the Misty Frontier!"
"Damn it! Why now?!
All units, battle stations!!"
The shrill alarm echoed through every corner of Sunken Dragon Pass. The silent stronghold behind the inner wall was like a war machine rapidly starting up, countless figures rushing in orderly fashion to their positions, a low rumbling sound emerging from between the two walls, as if some steel beast was gradually awakening.
"Captain! Look there!"
Through the howling storm, a nearby Night Watch exclaimed.
The man spun around, raising his telescope to peer toward the end of the dark horizon.
Massive silhouettes, like mountain peaks, were slowly moving toward them from the edge of his vision. At the same time, countless brilliant divine lights were crashing through the heavy clouds like meteors, carrying terrifying pressure as they rapidly approached!
The waves went mad, the night sky was torn open, and the man faintly felt the sea surface beneath his feet and the watchtower trembling.
"This is..." He stared blankly at the scene, terror and shock reflected in his eyes!
"Divine War?! Those Olympian bastards! They're launching a divine war at this moment?!"
Vrrrm—Vrrrm—Vrrrm—!!
Sunken Dragon Pass, Jialin Pass, Shanhaiguan... The piercing alarms and crimson lights spread like beacon fires from every strategic pass along Great Xia's eastern coast, tearing a gory gash in the stormy night.
...
Asgard.
Beneath the star-filled sky, Lin Qiye extinguished all the lights in the room. He exhaled softly, and smoke curled to form the figure of Number 27.
"Is anyone monitoring me around here?" Lin Qiye asked quietly.
Number 27 paused in silence, then shook his head. "No."
"Good."
Lin Qiye sat down at the table, at ease. He reached into his chest and produced a flat pixel chip, pressing it toward the center.
The pixels automatically stacked and flowed, instantly transforming into a walkie-talkie that landed in Lin Qiye's palm.
He took a deep breath and pressed a certain button on the walkie-talkie:
"This is Lin Qiye, calling Great Xia Night Watch Headquarters. Please respond."
"Ssscrssscss..."
Static noise crackled from the walkie-talkie, echoing in the dead silence of the room.
Lin Qiye held the walkie-talkie and waited for half a minute, but no human voice came from the other end.
Lin Qiye frowned and pressed the button again, increasing the volume slightly:
"This is Lin Qiye, calling Great Xia Night Watch Headquarters. Please respond."
"Ssscrssscss..."
"Loki will assault the Supreme God tomorrow. My preparations are complete. Tomorrow I can open Bifröst and create a path for the Gods of Great Xia."
"Ssscrssscss..."
"Hello? Commander Zuo? Can you hear me?"
"Ssscrssscss..."
Lin Qiye held the walkie-talkie and called for several minutes, but still no response from Zuo Qing came.
Lin Qiye's brow furrowed immediately, and a foreboding feeling rose in his heart.
Normally, as long as Zuo Qing had the walkie-talkie on him, he would respond immediately upon hearing the call... Yet after such a long call, there was not even a trace of movement from the other end.
Either Zuo Qing had left the walkie-talkie in his office, or... something had happened to Great Xia.
Given Zuo Qing's meticulous nature, the probability of the former was practically zero.
Could Great Xia...
In the crackling static, Lin Qiye felt his hands and feet grow cold, an unknown and bewildered fear surging through him.
No, that couldn't be... Great Xia had the Gods of Great Xia guarding it, not to mention so many Human Apex—how could anything go wrong?
But if Great Xia couldn't receive his call, what about tomorrow's plans?
Should he still open Bifröst as planned?
If Great Xia was truly caught up in some trouble, the Gods of Great Xia wouldn't be able to come as scheduled to battle the Asgard gods. Even if he opened Bifröst, no reinforcements would arrive...
At that point, discovered by the gods of Asgard, he truly would have nowhere to go.
In this moment, Lin Qiye felt like a lamb completely isolated behind enemy lines, fighting alone. The powerful backing that should have come to meet him was silent, and his path ahead was shrouded in confusion.
Just as Lin Qiye was deep in thought, Number 27 standing in the corner suddenly spoke:
"Someone is coming."
