Chapter 1260: Sudden Mutation

Before the Corpse Palace.

"They found Sif's location? How is that possible?"

Hela glanced at the position of the Netherworld Bone Dragon, her brow tightly furrowed.

Having lost half his divine power, Loki was retreating steadily under Thor's fierce assault. He retreated behind Hela, his expression grim:

"Did you go to Freya's prophecy? Or did you recruit the Three Goddesses?

No, impossible. Freya's condition is something I know well—she can't make prophecies now. The Three Goddesses have always been reclusive and would never help you...

Thor, did you get help from other pantheons?!"

Thor coldly replied, "What happens in Asgard stays in Asgard. I've made no deals with any foreign gods."

Hearing this, Loki's brow furrowed.

Just then, a pale yellow divine power tide came surging from the distance!

"Is that Sif?!" Thor sensed that aura, his expression brightening. His form turned into lightning and shot forward.

The War God Tyr followed closely behind.

Soon, on the barren, cold and desolate earth, the injured Sif appeared before them both.

Sif barely managed to support herself, her divine power churning around her as she struggled to defend against the Netherworld Bone Dragon's attacks. Behind her were Lin Qiye and Subject 22, whom she had protected.

Although this was her first time meeting Lin Qiye, his desperate rescue of her from the Dungeon had already maxed out her goodwill toward him!

Now freed from her bonds, she couldn't possibly stand by and watch Lin Qiye be killed by the Netherworld Bone Dragon.

"Sif!" Thor's eyes lit up at the sight of her. He glanced at the Netherworld Bone Dragon beside them, and fury blazed in his eyes once more. He abruptly raised his silver hammer, a bolt of thunder striking its tip, then swung his right arm down with devastating force!

With a deafening roar, a massive bolt of lightning shattered a good portion of the Bone Dragon's body, tiny bone fragments scattering across the sky.

Thor, cloaked in his red cape like a war god incarnate, wielded the thunder to dismantle the Bone Dragon piece by piece. In just over ten seconds, he had utterly destroyed it!

After this crushing victory, the lightning around Thor gradually faded. He sheathed his hammer and strode quickly toward Sif.

"Thor!" Sif embraced him, her eyes reddening. "How did you find this place?"

While stroking her back, Thor glanced at Lin Qiye not far away.

"Thanks to Miles... Are you hurt?"

"I'm fine, just some flesh wounds..."

Before Sif could say more, several massive shadows surged toward them from all directions. Without anyone noticing, the City-Destroying Mountain Corpses had moved close to their group, pairs of eerie green eyes staring at them with unsettling intensity.

One of the City-Destroying Mountain Corpses was chewing something in its massive maw. After a moment, it spat a shapeless mass of flesh onto the ground.

Judging by the clothing and build, it was a piece of Hodur... part of him.

Hodur's true body had been divided into how many pieces and swallowed by these City-Destroying Mountain Corpses. This fragment was perhaps only a third of his original form.

The good news was that these City-Destroying Mountain Corpses seemed to lack any law-based powers, so they couldn't completely obliterate Hodur. But the bad news was that Hodur in his current state was no different from dead.

Even if placed in Asgard's Holy Spring, no one knew how long it would take to restore him.

Thor's expression was grim. He and Tyr lifted Hodur's broken body, then turned to look at a point in the void.

Loki and Hela's forms were gradually being traced into existence.

"Thor..." Loki's narrow eyes swept over Sif in Thor's arms. His voice was cold, "Even if you rescue Sif, it changes nothing. You've seen the power of these City-Destroying Mountain Corpses. If I wanted to, I could destroy half of Asgard whenever I please.

You can't beat me."

Thor's fists clenched tight, but he had no intention of engaging in further words. He knew very well that with just him and Tyr, they stood no chance against Loki, Hela, and these twelve monsters. The best option now was to retreat.

"Let's go!"

Lightning crackled from the void around Thor, quickly enveloping Lin Qiye and the others.

At the same time, the [Royal Scepter] in Subject 22's hand finally lost its effect. Two streams of divine power swept through space, about to return to Loki and Hela's bodies.

Seeing this, Loki made no move to intercept. No one understood Thor better than he did—if Thor truly went berserk here, things would become far worse than imagined... He could compete with Thor for the throne of god-king, but he absolutely could not kill Thor. Otherwise, Asgard would be thrown into chaos.

But just then, disaster struck!!

The shadow beneath War God Tyr's feet suddenly flickered诡异ly!

A smoke-like figure silently cut through space, arriving behind Loki before the streams of divine power could return.

The semi-transparent figure raised a hand, and a gleaming ancient dagger stabbed toward Loki's heart like a ghost!

He was too fast. Before this, no one had sensed his presence—not even Tyr, the Chief God of Asgard, had noticed that a person was hidden within his own shadow!

Loki felt a chill on his back and tried to weave a "trick," but it was already too late.

The ancient dagger easily pierced through Loki's back,穿透 his heart, the sharp blade tip breaking through the skin of his chest. Crimson blood splattered across the ground.

Only now did the smoke-like figure gradually reveal his true form.

He was a figure draped in a black cloak, wearing a wide hood. With one hand, he gripped the dagger in reverse and twisted viciously. Loki's heart was instantly shredded to pieces.

Loki's panicked eyes gradually lost focus, finally fading into emptiness.

But that wasn't the end. From beneath his cloak, the figure produced another dagger. The blade turned, flashing as it sliced across Loki's throat.

Gurgurgle...

Blood sprayed. The head fell.

By this time, the streams of divine power flying through the air had finally returned to Loki's headless body, but it was far too late.

The timing of this figure's attack had been impeccable—

When Thor and the others were about to retreat, when the divine power streams were about to return, and precisely when Loki, exhausted after a fierce battle, was at his most unguarded!

A blade to the heart, a blade to sever the head.

The entire process was fluid and ruthless, decisive and brutal.

So much so that Hela, standing right beside Loki, and Thor and the others preparing to flee, hadn't even reacted yet.

Blood soaked the figure's black cloak. He withdrew both daggers from Loki's body, sliding them back into his sleeves.

A breeze lifted the dark cloak, and on the wide brim of the hood,

two numbers that someone had deliberately erased flickered in and out of view.
