Chapter 1251: Entering Asgard
Seeing that smile, Lin Qiye's heart stirred.
Though Jinian was covered in wounds, those smiling eyes still shone brightly.
She was captured on purpose?
This thought suddenly flashed through Lin Qiye's mind.
Before Lin Qiye could think further, Jinian followed Hodr forward, walking to his front.
Jinian gently swayed her head, and her silver-white hair cascaded in the wind, brushing against Lin Qiye's chest.
Between the faint traces, a shadow flew out from her hair and landed silently in Lin Qiye's embrace.
Lin Qiye felt as though a thin board had brushed against his collar, lightly adhering to the skin of his chest, emanating a faint coolness.
This movement was natural and casual, carrying no spiritual energy fluctuation whatsoever. The four Asgardian gods flying ahead of Lin Qiye didn't notice anything amiss.
Lin Qiye silently tightened his clothes, a gleam flickering in the depths of his eyes, as he followed the gods toward Asgard.
…
Asgard.
Si Xiaonan pushed open the doors of the spacious palace, stepped onto the carved black bricks, and finally stopped before the throne at the palace's depths.
"Lord Loki." She lowered her head and spoke.
Loki, dressed in a black robe, sat casually on the throne. One hand rested on the armrest, fingers pinching two exquisite pill vials, gently swaying them.
The muffled clinking of pills colliding with the vial walls sounded like a demon's whisper, echoing through the silent palace.
After a long while, Loki's narrow, slanted eyes finally shifted from the two pill vials in his hands to Si Xiaonan below.
"Have Thor and the others returned?" he asked casually.
"Not yet."
"Interesting…" Loki's brow slightly lifted, his eyes narrowing as he gazed at Si Xiaonan. "I told you to find a way to get them away from Asgard, and you actually managed it…
My dear Xiaonan, how did you do it?"
Si Xiaonan's expression was utterly calm. "I tricked them with some news of an unknown source, sending them out to search for the Hero King's treasure."
"The Hero King's treasure?" Loki spoke with surprise.
A moment later, he shrugged and leaned back against the chair. "It doesn't matter. Without the [King] Law, no one can control Gilgamesh's treasury. Even if they happen to find it, they can't bring it back to Asgard."
Upon hearing these words, Si Xiaonan's eyes subtly constricted.
Loki's fingers unconsciously tapped the armrest as a smile curved his lips:
"At such a critical time, they actually dared to leave Asgard for this long… What a death wish."
Loki slowly rose from the throne, descended the steps, and walked step by step until he stood before Si Xiaonan, stopping.
He reached out and gently brushed aside the black hair at Si Xiaonan's temple. Those narrow, slanted eyes narrowed, looking as if smiling, yet radiating the dangerous glow of a venomous serpent:
"With the Eternal Undying Pill our Xiaonan brought back, I'll soon ascend to the Supreme God realm and take control of Asgard…
What do you think?"
Si Xiaonan's body trembled.
After a long moment, she parted her lips and spoke hoarsely:
"…Lord Loki will surely become Asgard's new king of gods."
Loki gazed into Si Xiaonan's eyes for a moment, then shifted his gaze away, toward the magnificent gate at the end of the dim temple.
He reached out and patted Si Xiaonan's shoulder, neither too hard nor too light.
"Once I take control of Asgard, I'll dissolve the proxy contract with you. Whether you want to stay or return to Great Xia… I won't stop you."
At the instant she heard these words, Si Xiaonan's pupils constricted sharply.
Loki's promise was too tempting for her.
But quickly, Si Xiaonan's composure returned. She took a deep breath and spoke calmly:
"I'll stay. Besides here… I have nowhere else to go."
Loki gave her a cursory glance, turned, and walked back toward the throne.
"Spread the word for me. In eight days, I will ascend to the Supreme God realm at Asgard's Miracle Square."
Si Xiaonan frowned, confused. "You want to attempt the Supreme God breakthrough publicly? Aren't you afraid Thor and the others might interfere? And why choose eight days from now?"
Loki's black royal robe brushed against the cold steps as he casually sprawled across the throne. Those eyes emanating cold light swept over Si Xiaonan below:
"You're asking too many questions."
"…Understood."
Si Xiaonan could only nod in agreement, turn, and leave the palace.
Creak—!
The palace doors closed.
In the dim palace, lying on the throne, Loki slowly raised the two pill vials.
His eyes reflected the shadows of the vials, light flickering within them.
…
Asgard.
Bifröst.
A streak of light tore through the sky, landing at the other end of Bifröst. Several figures stepped out.
Lin Qiye followed behind the forest god Vidar, his eyes scanning his surroundings as he began to carefully observe this Norse divine realm.
So far, he had only seen Great Xia's Heavenly Court and the devastated Takamagahara of Japan. This divine realm before him was clearly much larger than Takamagahara and full of vitality.
Exquisite Western-style temples were scattered across the pristine white land, magnificent and splendid. In the distance, the sacred mountain pierced the clouds. Between the ethereal mist, one could make out a faintly visible, partially repaired, ruined palace.
In terms of scale, this place seemed on par with Great Xia's Heavenly Court. However, the difference was that this place lacked the ethereal, spiritual aura that hung over the Heavenly Court.
This… was Asgard, the homeland of the Norse gods.
Lin Qiye followed the gods to the edge of Bifröst, where a colossal sword, mountain-like in size, was thrust into the boundary between Bifröst and Asgard.
So that was the legendary Bifröst Sword that controlled the opening and closing of the rainbow bridge?
Lin Qiye's eyes narrowed as he carefully examined the sword, seemingly trying to etch every detail into his memory.
Upon seeing this sword, Thor furrowed his brow:
"H Heimdall hasn't returned yet?"
"No." The blind god Hodr shook his head. "Ever since that day, although Heimdall recovered his human form, his state of mind completely collapsed. He's been in seclusion at the foot of the sacred mountain and hasn't returned to Bifröst."
"Damned Great Xia gods!" The war god Tyr seemed to recall something, glancing at his empty right arm. A look of fury surfaced in his eyes:
"This grudge… I will have my revenge!"
Thor said nothing, merely walking calmly to the giant sword thrust into Bifröst. He reached out, grasped the hilt, and began to pull it out of Bifröst inch by inch.
The sword was extremely heavy. Even Thor had veins bulging on his forehead.
With a humming sound, the giant sword was completely withdrawn. The Bifröst behind it began to recede rapidly until only a small section remained exposed at Asgard's edge.
The ray of light that had delivered everyone back to Asgard also vanished completely.
"Let's go." Thor slung the Bifröst Sword across his back and said calmly.
The gods followed Thor, stepping onto Asgard's pristine ground. Lin Qiye trailed behind them all, turning his head to glance at the broken bridge.
In his eyes, a mixture of helplessness and determination appeared.
Bifröst was closed, and the Bifröst Sword had been taken by Thor, meaning Asgard was completely isolated from the world, becoming an island where those inside couldn't get out and those outside couldn't get in.
From this moment, his retreat was cut off.
The future of Great Xia, along with his own life and death, pressed down on his shoulders like heavy mountains.
