Chapter 94 – White Slash

Mad Cao Yuan roared, shooting forward like lightning. The wooden saber in his hand slashed out, black flames carving a crescent toward Instructor Han.

Empty-handed, Instructor Han narrowed his eyes, rolled aside, and snatched the Straight Blade lying on the ground.

A soft ring—Straight Blade left its sheath!

With the blade in hand, the instructor’s aura changed instantly.

His deep gaze seemed to read Mad Cao Yuan’s every move. The instant the boy flashed in front of him, Han stepped half back, pivoted, and slashed!

Clang—!

The wooden saber wreathed in black fire met Straight Blade in a clash of metal. Cao Yuan grinned savagely and poured on more force!

Han’s Straight Blade was knocked aside, yet he showed no panic, predicting the next strike’s arc, dodging cleanly, then retreating several paces, eyes grave.

“Qiye, aren’t the Forbidden Ruins suppressed?” Baili Pangpang whispered. “How can Cao Yuan still use his?”

“The higher the sequence, the weaker that suppressing artifact works. It can handle the rest of us, but Cao Yuan’s sequence is too high for full suppression.
Besides, his Ruins are special; even he can’t control them when he goes berserk, so the artifact barely matters,” Lin Qiye guessed.

“Then the instructors’ Ruins are suppressed too?” Baili Pangpang realized. “So only Cao Yuan can use his right now, and Instructor Han is fighting a berserk ultra-high-risk with pure skill?
That’s ultra-ultra-high-risk!”

Lin Qiye didn’t answer, only watched the two on the platform, silent.

“Everyone, evacuate the training ground now!” After several more exchanges, Han—sent stumbling by Cao Yuan’s brute force—shouted at the recruits.

He recognized the boy’s Ruins and the danger: with powers sealed, the recruits were just civilians; any accident would be fatal.

“Damn, I can’t feel my Ruins…” Han gritted his teeth, trying again and again with no response.

A berserk Cao Yuan had once given even Wang Mian trouble. Without time acceleration or his Mandarin Arrow, Han relied solely on experience and technique—letting Lin Qiye and the others finally see the unlucky instructor’s true strength!

No matter how fast Mad Cao Yuan moved, Han predicted every trajectory. His Straight Blade seemed alive, fluttering like a butterfly, parrying each blow!

But he could block the strikes, not the monstrous force or the surging murder-flames!

The fight was utterly unfair.

Under Cao Yuan’s maniacal laughter, Han could only defend and retreat.

“Yaoguang.” Baili Pangpang clasped his necklace, lifted a chubby finger, and pointed at the platform.

A blinding golden beam shot out, arrow-straight, smashing into the wooden saber’s edge, then morphing into a golden rope that bound Mad Cao Yuan.

The boy roared; black flames blazed higher, burning through the rope in two seconds…

He turned to Baili Pangpang below, baring vicious teeth.

Baili Pangpang’s sturdy frame quivered; he half-stepped back and swallowed.
“Brother Qiye, save me!”

Lin Qiye: …

“Give me a blade,” Lin Qiye sighed.

“Huh? Okay!” Baili Pangpang rummaged in his pocket.

Already, Mad Cao Yuan had abandoned Han, charging straight at the pair!

Han’s face paled. “Run!!”
He sprang after the boy.

Lin Qiye stood frowning; two faint gold sparks lit in his eyes, a fierce aura spreading outward.

“Found it!” Baili Pangpang pulled out a saber similar to a star-steel blade and handed it over.

Black flames licked Lin Qiye’s face; the wooden saber, wrapped in killing fire, sliced toward Baili Pangpang’s neck—then a white flash!

Whoosh—!

The white arc met the wooden saber, halting the flames. Lin Qiye twisted, flinging Cao Yuan’s weapon aside.

Baili Pangpang, behind him, clutched his pounding heart.
“Damn… scared this young master to death!”

Lin Qiye gave a soft exclamation, eyeing the blade.
“I clearly didn’t touch the wooden saber—why…”

“That Ruins is called Mini White Slash, an artificial copy of sequence 061’s divine weapon White Slash. When swung, it ignores five meters of distance—nothing amazing.”
Baili Pangpang patted his belly. “The real White Slash is in our family vault; it ignores a full kilometer—within that range, one slash, everything falls.”

“That exaggerated?” Lin Qiye toyed with Mini White Slash, surprised.

“Of course. Dad guards the genuine piece like treasure; I’m not even allowed to look.”

“Handles nicely.”
Lin Qiye weighed the blade and nodded approval.

Mad Cao Yuan growled, glaring; the murder-flames on his body roared higher.

Lin Qiye met the stare, snorted, and golden furnaces erupted from his eyes!
Overwhelming divine might poured into Cao Yuan’s mind; the boy staggered back like a drunkard.

“Hm? Divine pressure works… unexpectedly well.” Lin Qiye murmured, then turned. “Give me that Sealing Scroll from last time.”

“Sure.” Baili Pangpang produced a roll of tape and placed it in his hand.

Blade in right hand, Lin Qiye tore a strip of the scroll with his teeth, eyes blazing like twin suns, and sprinted at Mad Cao Yuan!

Five meters away, he slashed repeatedly; Mini White Slash knocked the wooden saber aside!

Cao Yuan roared, free hand clawing out, flames coiling, tearing at Lin Qiye’s body!

Lin Qiye seemed to read the move, dipped low to evade, then whipped the flat of the blade against Cao Yuan’s elbow.

The wooden saber flew from Cao Yuan’s grip!

Spinning, Lin Qiye wrapped the exposed Sealing Scroll around the boy’s neck, yanking hard through the black flames!

Mad Cao Yuan crashed to the ground!
