**Chapter 82: Hurry Up and Cut Me**
"With his God's Ruins and that forbidden artifact, his combat power has already far surpassed the River Realm. He could probably take on all 239 of us new recruits alone," Molly’s face looked grim.
"This time… we have no chance of winning."
"Not necessarily." Baili Pangpang rubbed his belly and chuckled.
Lin Qiye asked, "You have a plan?"
"His 【Mandarin Arrow】 was a gift from my family. Naturally, I have a way to restrict it." Baili Pangpang reached into his pocket and pulled out a roll of tape.
"This is the forbidden artifact 【Sealing Scroll】, Sequence 343. Just stick a piece on the blade, and it will completely isolate the knife from its surroundings. That way, Wang Mian’s temporal God’s Ruins won’t affect it, and it’ll be no different from an ordinary blade."
Lin Qiye took the tape and looked at Baili Pangpang’s pocket in surprise.
"You carry this stuff with you? Did you know Wang Mian was coming?"
Baili Pangpang just grinned and didn’t answer.
Seeing that he didn’t want to explain, Lin Qiye didn’t press further. He looked down at the tape in his hand, his eyes flickering.
"As long as we can seal that blade… we still have a chance."
……
*Boom—!*
*Boom—!!*
*Boom—!!!*
Explosions rang out from the ruins, and dense figures charged at the Mask Squad from all directions. Blinding bursts of fire erupted one after another!
The dormitory building had been slashed to rubble, but not all the new recruits were eliminated. Most of those still standing were prodigies from across the land. Surviving the chaos wasn’t too hard for them.
"Brother Shen! Brother Shen! Are you okay?" A recruit staggered out of the rubble, shouting.
The next second, the thick wall panel beside him exploded. Shen Qingzhu, covered in dust, crawled out with a dark expression and coughed twice.
"I’m fine… What the hell was that? That attack came from someone in the River Realm?"
His gaze landed on the Mask Squad fighting among the recruits, his face grave.
"Brother Shen, there are still about thirty of us who can fight. Should we join in or…"
"Charge!" Shen Qingzhu spat, flipped his cap backward, and snarled.
"The ambush failed, so we go head-on! I don’t believe they still have much mental energy left after all this fighting!"
A whirlwind erupted beneath his feet, and he shot toward the chaotic battlefield.
"Vortex, that troublesome guy’s coming." Moon Ghost knocked out two recruits with the hilt of his Short Sword and spotted Shen Qingzhu sprinting over. He shouted toward Vortex.
"Why me?"
"My Forbidden Ruins aren’t suited for him. You go."
"Tch, always pushing me around."
Vortex muttered and turned to charge at Shen Qingzhu.
The two figures closed in fast. Then, a violent air explosion erupted. Gorgeous purple vortexes bloomed as they clashed fiercely!
……
Tianping clapped lightly. Debris from the ruins floated up and shot toward the charging recruits, quickly overwhelming them.
Just as he was about to continue his role as a long-range cannon, a head popped out from the rubble beneath his feet.
Tianping’s face changed. Without a word, he leaped back several steps.
With a flick of his fingers, sharp stones surrounded the figure.
"Interesting. You were lying in wait for me?" Tianping narrowed his eyes.
The person slowly climbed out, dusting off his face to reveal an absurdly young-looking boy.
He held a blade calmly and shook his head. "I wasn’t ambushing you. I was resting in my room when the building collapsed. I just crawled out and saw you."
Tianping: …
Cao Yuan looked around, tapped a nearby stone, and nodded. "Alright, eliminate me."
Tianping blinked. "What did you say?"
"Eliminate me."
"You… don’t want to fight back?"
"No point." Cao Yuan shrugged, blade in arms. "And if I do, I’m afraid you won’t be able to handle it."
He paused, then added, "None of you will."
"…Are you looking down on me?" Tianping laughed in disbelief. "A newbie with that kind of attitude? You think you can kill me?"
Cao Yuan rubbed his chin, thought seriously, and nodded.
"Maybe."
"Oh?" Tianping’s eyes narrowed dangerously. "Then try."
"No." Cao Yuan shook his head firmly. "Once I draw my blade, even I can’t control it. I don’t want to kill anymore."
He tossed the blade to the ground, clasped his hands, and bowed reverently. "Amitabha."
"…No, you have to try!" Tianping’s curiosity was fully ignited.
"I can’t."
"Just try! It won’t hurt! I promise you won’t hurt me!"
"I can’t risk it."
"…Come on! Draw your blade! Hurry up and cut me!"
"Amitabha."
"…"
Just as Tianping was about to speak again, his face changed. He leaped back several meters.
A terrifying shockwave tore through the ground, cracking it in all directions. Flying debris froze mid-air, trapped by a strange force field.
Tianping frowned and looked to the right. With a flick of his fingers, the suspended stones shot out like arrows!
Not far away, Molly gripped her katana and stomped the ground. An invisible shockwave erupted, shattering all the stones mid-air.
"Oh? It’s that cool lady." Rose, swinging a giant hammer, spotted Molly facing off against Tianping and her eyes lit up.
She abandoned the recruits in front of her, hoisted her hammer, and charged straight at Molly!
"Tianping, this cool chick is mine!"
Rose’s eyes sparkled as if she’d found a rare treasure. Her hammer grew larger, swirling with wind as it smashed toward Molly!
Molly’s eyes flashed with killing intent. She raised her katana and met the hammer head-on!
*Dong—!!*
At the same time, Lin Qiye suddenly appeared behind Cao Yuan, grabbed his collar, and yanked him away from Tianping.
Cao Yuan snapped out of it and grabbed Lin Qiye’s wrist. Both stopped.
"What are you doing?" Cao Yuan frowned.
"Saving you, obviously," Lin Qiye said calmly. "You think you can beat him?"
"I wasn’t trying to win. I just wanted to get eliminated."
"…"
Lin Qiye rolled his eyes. He’d just rushed in and saved someone—only to find out the guy was a defeatist who wanted out…
"Fine. Do whatever you want." Lin Qiye coldly turned away.
He had no time for slackers. He turned to head to another battlefield.
"Qiye! Qiye!! There’s someone here I can’t pull out alone!" Baili Pangpang shouted, tugging on a recruit half-buried in rubble.
Hearing that, Cao Yuan—who had been about to go back to Tianping—froze.
"Qiye, Qiye…?" he muttered, head lowered.
