Chapter 960: Fighting Without Personal Attacks

At the top floor, a spiritual interference item was placed. What appeared from the outside to be an object occupying over ten square meters of the entire floor was actually only thirty centimeters tall, cylindrical in shape, spinning on its own, with no one around it.

Xu Huo didn't rush down immediately but instead observed the layout of this floor.

From the outside, the Bird Tower looked old and worn, but the floor inside was made of a dark gray metal, with two layers of copper-colored rings along the edges. The ceiling directly above was hollow, its size roughly matching the area within the rings.

The Bird Tower was wide at the bottom and narrow at the top, somewhat conical in shape... He crouched down and touched the metal floor—it seemed very thin.

"Tap, tap." Light footsteps sounded behind him. Xu Huo stood up and turned around. A woman was leaning against the stair railing, tapping her high heel on the ground as she looked him over with a playful smile.

"You're not a player from W37, are you?" The woman lowered her raised heel, stepped up from the stairs in one stride, clasped her hands behind her back, and walked briskly along the copper rings. "How did you find this place?"

"Is that question important?" Xu Huo raised an eyebrow.

The woman stopped walking, turned to face him directly, and suddenly let out a "pfft" laugh. "You're right, the process doesn't matter. What matters is the result—you standing here."

She tilted her head, making a playful gesture that didn't match her seductive appearance. "What now? I don't like this result. Could you please leave?"

The "Eye of the Dead" appeared in his hand. Xu Huo glanced down at the slightly open eye. "Sorry, but I don't plan on leaving just like that."

The woman's expression slightly hardened, and she stomped her high heel on the ground:

Starting from beneath her feet, golden metal bars sprouted from the floor as if alive, shooting toward Xu Huo like conscious blades and forming a circular blockade zone around him.

Xu Huo dodged the stabbing metal bars by stepping back slightly, then lunged forward in a single bound, slashing his sword to cut through the cage in front of him while simultaneously deploying the "Balloon String" and "Stop or Die" items in an attempt to lock down the woman.

Her reaction was not slow. She had already moved away the moment he acted, and at the same time, she raised her palm and made a pushing motion toward him: "Polite Refusal!"

The "Thick Protective Color" failed to nullify the trait this time. Xu Huo was slammed against the wall by a powerful force. The woman, cautious, didn't approach. Instead, she waved her hand, and a two-finger-wide blade flew out, heading straight for his neck!

The "Moving Metal" item blocked the blade's attack three times in succession, but each time it was knocked away, the blade's effect didn't fade. It spun around and stabbed toward his thigh!

Xu Huo's eyes sharpened. As the blade shot toward him, he abruptly sidestepped and swung his sword midair: A crisp "clang" rang out as the blade was cut in two. Before the broken metal pieces could hit the ground, he backhanded the "Light Sandwich" toward the stairwell and slapped the woman away with another strike.

The woman had been standing across from the stairs. After being knocked away by the "Divine Slap," she landed squarely within the effect range of the "Light Sandwich." However, before that, she had thrown out a mushroom-shaped item. The mushroom expanded to over two meters tall upon landing, tilting its cap and pushing toward Xu Huo's direction—this was meant to create distance between them while slowing him down. But what the woman didn't expect was that before she could escape the light, Xu Huo had already appeared right in front of her!

The woman's expression shifted. As the "Light Sandwich" wore off, a small pure gold umbrella opened above her head, directly blocking the "Eye of the Dead."

The "Eye of the Dead" was a B-grade item. Unlike ordinary items, it could directly destroy other items. Compared to the "Crimson Sword," which had a wide attack range but could be easily blocked by defensive items, it was more practical. The fact that it couldn't destroy the pure gold umbrella indicated that this item was also of a high grade.

After their brief exchange, both sides retreated. Unlike Xu Huo's scrutinizing gaze, the woman was visibly annoyed when she saw the scratches on her umbrella. "This is my favorite item!"

"The umbrella is quite beautiful," Xu Huo said flatly. After a pause, he added, "But don't worry. Once I open a similar gash on your head, you won't care about it anymore."

As his words fell, he closed the distance between them by crossing through space. The top floor was cramped, and since the opponent didn't choose to retreat, the two engaged in close combat. In just over ten seconds, they clashed dozens of times, each sustaining minor injuries.

However, during the fight, Xu Huo noticed that the woman was deliberately protecting the Bird Tower. Of course, he also held back somewhat, refraining from using high-damage items that could destroy the building. But that didn't stop him from using this as a way to test her.

Backing up to the wall, he deliberately glanced downward, then raised his sword and stabbed at the floor!

"Ground Surfing!" The woman immediately threw out a bar of soap. It slid unerringly toward Xu Huo's feet. Due to an irresistible force, his foot slipped and landed squarely on it, causing him to uncontrollably slide backward and crash into the nearby stairwell!

"Take Your Dog Head!" Before the soap beneath his feet disappeared, a helmet descended from above. Xu Huo immediately spotted the blades embedded along its rim. He used "Compressed Air" to block it, then applied "Controlled Weightlessness" to the woman who had followed him. As she left the ground, he slapped her away again.

By the time he flipped back to the top floor, he said to the woman, "Watch your face," and activated "Eternal Imprint." Six beams of light chased after the woman's face. After blocking them several times, she couldn't help but say, "You're despicable...!"

Before she could finish, her right hand involuntarily lifted to her ear, mimicking the motion of answering a phone call. Then she saw Xu Huo's face pressed close to hers. But as she tried to retreat, she felt a hand grip the back of her neck!

The woman's pupils trembled violently. She swiped at her button: "Strong Woman!"

Something seemed to layer over her neck, blocking Xu Huo's hand and preventing him from crushing her throat. The next second, the person beneath him escaped and fled toward the stairs.

Xu Huo was about to pursue, but just as he took a step, he pulled his foot back—a pair of scissors appeared out of thin air and snapped shut right in front of his forehead!

"Hmph!" The item placed in ambush failed to achieve its effect. The woman let out a dissatisfied sound, then looked at Xu Huo, who was staring back at her. "If you've got the guts, follow me!"

Xu Huo smiled faintly. With a single step, he intercepted her path and asked, "Do you hear a sound?"

People instinctively respond to others' questions. The woman paused briefly at Xu Huo's query, then her expression changed. She used an item to block her ears while throwing a smoke bomb to the ground.

The spiritual interference from the "Orb of Murmurs" might be a bit sensitive and difficult to succeed against high-level players, but it was different now that the woman was within Xu Huo's spiritual realm.
