# Chapter 819: People
The light illuminated an area of about ten meters around them. The curly-haired female player opened her eyes, first turned her head to dry heave, then glared angrily at Yan Jiayu. "Falling into your hands means I'm not skilled enough. What do you want?"
Xu Huo knocked on the "coffin lid." "Why did you attack her?"
Seeing that Pink Hair was still standing safely nearby, the curly-haired female player, though somewhat angry, seemed able to accept this reality. "Ask her!"
Pink Hair frowned but didn't say anything.
Bickering between players in a life-or-death fight was completely meaningless.
However, Xu Huo seemed very interested in this and insisted on getting to the bottom of it. He said, "You attacked because you realized she had made a move against you, right?"
The concussed curly-haired female player dry-heaved again before saying, "If she hadn't struck first, would I be crazy?"
Pink Hair looked at her calmly. "You struck first."
Clearly, both sides believed the other had initiated the attack.
"Save... save me..." At this moment, the Unlucky One's weak voice came from the side. He was nearly being strangled to death by that female player.
Yan Jiayu turned her head and said, "Don't kill him yet. Maybe you're both having hallucinations."
That female player loosened her grip slightly but didn't release the Unlucky One.
"Why do you say it's a hallucination? Don't you think someone among them is lying?" the old man asked. "Disguise is a trivial matter for players."
Yan Jiayu scratched her head. "There's no need for that. Who actually struck first isn't really important. None of us others would help someone just because they're in the right."
"If there's a problem here, figuring it out benefits everyone."
"What if we've also fallen into the same trap?"
Several nearby players nodded to themselves. Pink Hair said, "I have an item that can detect the traces of items used on a person in the past five minutes, but it can only detect the quantity."
Xu Huo stepped aside and gestured for her to proceed.
Without waiting for the curly-haired female player's consent, Pink Hair walked over and stuck a small electronic screen onto her forehead. After a burst of music, the screen displayed the number "16."
"This means that within five minutes, at least sixteen items have been used on her. I used five items on her."
Xu Huo looked at the curly-haired female player, who said resentfully, "I have ten of my own, and one belongs to her."
She was referring to the short-haired female player beside her.
Pink Hair tested herself as well and, after a rough estimate, said, "No one else tampered with anything."
"Since it's not items, could it be that the food was poisoned?" the knitting woman asked.
Everyone's gaze turned to Yan Jiayu. Almost everyone present had eaten the food she had distributed.
Yan Jiayu didn't speak. At this moment, Xu Huo used the Identification Fork to prick the short-haired female player's arm:
"A twenty-seven-year-old female with well-proportioned body fat. Contains trace amounts of toxins. Consumption may cause temporary mushroom poisoning phenomena, easily leading to hallucinations and insomnia. However, it can be naturally metabolized within two weeks."
"Cannibalism violates human ethics and culinary principles. Consumption is not recommended."
"There really is poison!" the curly-haired female player said through gritted teeth.
Xu Huo signaled Yan Jiayu to put away the item and warned the female player, "Cooperate."
Meeting his gaze, the curly-haired female player had no choice but to suppress her anger and obediently accept the Identification Fork.
The test results were the same. She was also poisoned.
"Test me too," said the female player who had been holding the Unlucky One.
Xu Huo tossed her the Identification Fork. Similarly, that female player was also poisoned. She released the Unlucky One. "Let me ask you, did you try to take off your pants in front of me just now?"
The Unlucky One's neck had already changed color. After hearing this, his face changed as well, and he explained in a hoarse voice, "I have a girlfriend! You're not my type!"
"Brother, you're missing the point," a nearby player said, helping him up. "Is this about having a girlfriend? The real issue is being brave enough to take off your pants in front of so many people."
The Unlucky One said bitterly, "It was so dark, I couldn't see anything!"
"We're in the same carriage. The others ate the young lady's food and didn't show any signs of poisoning. It's not the food's problem. But you three aren't from the same carriage and had no prior contact..." the old man speculated. "Could it be that the air near the tracks contains toxins?"
Xu Huo glanced at that female player. "The lipstick on your mouth—did you apply it after boarding?"
The female player immediately caught on. "Someone sold it to me. I checked it with an item..."
Everyone's gaze turned to the middle-aged woman standing at the edge of the light.
"It's you!" the curly-haired female player woke her companion. "We fell for that woman's trick!"
No further explanation was needed. The three attacked simultaneously.
The middle-aged woman's previously fawning and vulgar demeanor instantly vanished, her mask-like emotions retracting completely, as if she had put on a false face. She threw a giant poster at the three, the massive sheet nearly spanning the width of the tracks, quickly wrapping them up.
But the next second, the curly-haired female player slid out from the bottom. Wearing white gloves, she touched the poster, and the paper immediately fell. However, just as the other two landed, the middle-aged woman produced a blinding light item. The three instinctively covered their eyes, but she instantly appeared beside them and, with one strike, finished off the other female player.
The middle-aged woman's item was also quite interesting. That female player had used a defense item to protect her body, but the crescent-shaped curved knife spun along the outside of the barrier erected by the defense item, then drilled through a gap, piercing the female player's heart!
The other two had already put on goggles. Seeing how bizarre the middle-aged woman's item was, they exchanged hand signals and quickly separated, trapping her between them from front and back. They spread their arms, and two laser-like lines connected in their hands. As they moved, the lines multiplied like cat's cradle, not only on the sides but also crisscrossing in the middle.
The middle-aged woman touched the laser lines with an item. Unfortunately, the lines were like cutting blades. Not only could she not force her way through, but even ordinary items might be sliced apart. So she tried to break through from above, but as soon as she jumped up, several laser lines came down from above, forcing her back into the web. As the lines increased, her available space grew smaller.
It seemed the two female players had a high chance of winning. But the middle-aged woman retreated to the center and placed her curved knife on the laser lines. Even though there was no solid object, the knife still moved rapidly along the light, brushing past the short-haired female player in the blink of an eye!
The laser lines crisscrossing in the air disappeared. The defense item on the short-haired female player's neck cracked and fell. As a spurt of blood splattered, she fell backward!
"Qingqing!" the curly-haired female player's eyes nearly split with rage. She charged recklessly at the middle-aged woman, but before she could get close, multiple blood lines suddenly appeared on the woman's face and body. In an instant, she turned into several chunks of flesh scattered on the ground.
