Chapter 815: Orbital Maze Kill

"What's the use of knowing when the origin happened?" the Unlucky-Looking Man said. "The wormhole points are already ranked up to E. How many wormhole points are there before that? At least a hundred or two hundred years' worth of events. Knowing it is useless anyway."

"Not necessarily," Yan Jiayu said. "Maybe we can travel through time."

The Unlucky-Looking Man chuckled. "Don't joke around. Time travel doesn't exist at all. If it did, do you think those Super Players and Advanced Players wouldn't want to turn back time?"

"That makes sense," Yan Jiayu said lightly. "But thinking this way doesn't hurt us at all. If we can turn back time, we can go back to before the game started. If we can't turn back time, at least we have hope during the process before we know the final result. So no matter what the answer is, we don't lose out."

The people nearby fell silent for a moment. The old man laughed first. "Right, right. Hope is better than no hope!"

"Finding joy in misery," the knitting female player muttered with her head down.

Xu Huo remained silent.

Under the light, the players chatted for a while before resting separately.

Close to midnight, some people walked along the tracks one after another—two men and two women.

They stepped out of the light's range, and everyone knew what they were going to do. Two male players got up with interest, intending to join in, but before they had taken a few steps, they suddenly attacked a nearby player. That player, who had been pulling in his legs to make way, was caught off guard and had his arm slashed. He flipped over and used a prop on the two—two balloons wrapped around their heads and quickly tightened!

"Pfft! Pfft!" The balloons burst quickly, and the two players lunged at him, their props already in action!

There were quite a few people around, and some were inevitably caught in the crossfire. The fight among three soon turned into five. Before those five could settle anything, the group that had left earlier also ran into trouble. A woman's sharp, angry shouts echoed back, followed by the sounds of fighting.

"Don't tell me they got halfway through and found the goods didn't match!" someone let out a lewd chuckle.

A few minutes later, two people returned—the two young female players from the same carriage as Xu Huo. Each carried a head, their clothes stained with blood. The curly-haired female player tossed her burden aside and sneered, "Whoever the hell keeps their brain in their crotch, I'll dig out their brains and feed them to themselves!"

The two male players who had been about to join in stopped, looking rather disgruntled.

Someone applauded. "That's some high-level fishing!"

The short-haired female player was so angry her face changed color. The curly-haired female player pulled her over to Xu Huo's side.

They didn't want to sit near the male players, so they ended up next to the knitting female player.

Yan Jiayu sat up and said, "Those two followed you. You were only a few meters apart."

"What do you mean!" the short-haired female player could no longer hold back, fuming. "Even if I wanted a man, I wouldn't look at those two creeps!"

"What she means is, since you were on guard, why didn't you shout them down when they were a hundred meters away?" Xu Huo said. "Others might not have had bad intentions."

The two were stunned for a moment, then the short-haired female player gritted her teeth. "We let them off too easy!"

"They must have used a prop. We didn't even feel anyone behind us. They only revealed themselves when they got close!" the curly-haired female player said coldly. "Shameless bastards using props for this kind of thing!"

"Aren't you two trying to buy lipstick to sleep with your male idols the same way?" the Unlucky-Looking Man interjected.

"Consent and force are the same thing? Is your head filled with brains or water?"

The Unlucky-Looking Man waved his hands repeatedly. "Can't afford to mess with you. I'll shut up."

His attitude infuriated them, but they had no comeback. Just then, Yan Jiayu stomped on the Unlucky-Looking Man's foot with lightning speed, making him yelp in pain.

"You have a weird scream," Yan Jiayu said.

The Unlucky-Looking Man's face flushed red with anger. "Looking for a fight?"

"No," Yan Jiayu said. "I accidentally stepped on you. Sorry, but why did you put your foot under mine?"

"I put my foot there?! Just because you're a woman, you think you can lie through your teeth?" the Unlucky-Looking Man roared.

Yan Jiayu looked helpless. "I already apologized. Why are you so petty? Making a big deal out of nothing."

"Me, making a big deal!" The Unlucky-Looking Man kicked off his shoe and stood up. "Half my foot is swollen from your 'accidental' step, and I'm making a big deal?!"

"Brother." Xu Huo stood up and put a hand on his shoulder. "Be magnanimous. She might have stepped a bit hard, but she apologized, didn't she? Besides, force is mutual. If it hurts you, it hurts her too."

"Is that the same?!" The Unlucky-Looking Man instinctively tried to shake him off but failed. He turned to meet Xu Huo's eyes and suddenly froze. After a pause, he looked at the others—the card players, the old man, Yan Jiayu, the knitting woman—all staring coldly at him.

"Fine!" the Unlucky-Looking Man gritted out. "I started this. My fault."

Xu Huo let him go, and Yan Jiayu smiled. "Don't be mad. I'll treat you to something good to eat."

The Unlucky-Looking Man really seemed short on food. After hesitating for a while, he accepted.

The curly-haired female player couldn't help but laugh and handed him a bottle of Self-Healing Agent. "You're kind of cute."

"Don't flirt with me." The Unlucky-Looking Man moved a bit farther away.

The old man chuckled. "Young people sure have energy."

"You're the nicest people I've met," the short-haired female player said, stroking her hair fondly.

But the curly-haired female player said, "What's the point of cutting your hair? To some people, it doesn't matter if you have long or short hair, if you're pretty or ugly, fat or thin—as long as you're breathing, they'll get urges."

"Women do tend to encounter bad things more easily," the old man reminded them. "But you still need to be careful. What just happened was a bit off. If those two players intended to use force, they should have subdued you first, not just grabbed you."

The two exchanged a glance, their expressions turning serious.

In the game, the physical strength gap between men and women was weakened. Those two male players wouldn't have been reckless enough to completely ignore the possibility of the female players fighting back. Besides, when the four of them left, it looked more like a prearranged meeting.

If it wasn't them deliberately giving false signals to lure people into a trap, then someone had interfered.

But judging by the situation, the two female players were more likely the ones doing the luring.

However, leaving the group to meet alone didn't fit normal logic in Xu Huo's view. Even if two women stripped naked and called out to them, those two male players shouldn't have easily followed.

The specific details were unclear, and on the tracks with so many people, anything was possible. But since this kind of thing had happened once, it wouldn't happen again. No need to dig deeper.
