Chapter 760: Came for the Potion
The injection had no text label on it, and its color was different from the previous P1 or P0 versions of the potion.
"Click, click, click..." As soon as the injection was taken out, the half-arm he was holding automatically split apart. After the metal components fell off, a small flashing device was revealed at the wrist. A green light flickered twice, and the entire hotel suddenly turned illusory!
After a momentary sensation of falling, Xu Huo was back standing in the hotel. But the moment his feet touched the ground, a sharp gust of wind brushed past his neck. While dodging the attack, he heard a command: "Disarm!"
Involuntarily, his hands loosened, and both the device and the injection fell toward the ground. As he came to his senses and tried to retrieve them, a net-like prop suddenly appeared on the ground, cleanly scooping up both items.
Looking up, Old Zheng and Old Eagle, who shouldn't have been near him, were now blocking him from the front and back respectively.
Xu Huo's eyes turned cold. Just as he was about to act, the device snatched by Old Zheng flickered sharply twice more. The next second, the hotel turned illusory again, then stabilized once more two seconds later. As the environment changed, the sounds of chaotic fighting came from outside the hotel, making the three people facing off realize they had returned to the Corpse-Hiding Hotel!
The device in Old Zheng's hand emitted a puff of white smoke and self-destructed. He immediately crashed through the nearby door and ran toward the window, ordering Old Eagle, "Kill him!"
"Vacuum..." Old Eagle reached out toward Xu Huo, but before he could finish speaking, the person who had been standing in the corridor had already flashed into the room. An air barrier instantly separated the two. Several props Old Eagle used afterward failed to take effect. By the time the barrier disappeared, Xu Huo had already chased Old Zheng out the window.
The top floor of the hotel was at least a hundred meters from the ground. After jumping out the window, Old Zheng used a suction cup prop to hang himself on the hotel's outer wall. Two suction cups gripped the wall like octopus tentacles as he moved downward. He hadn't expected Xu Huo to come out so quickly. Seeing the other jump down without any protective measures, he punched through the glass of a lower floor and jumped back inside.
Xu Huo, following closely, grabbed a string with one hand and stepped on the window frame with one foot. Using "Important Call," he swung his sword horizontally as the other raised a hand!
"Clang!" The sword energy was blocked by an inconspicuous metal piece. Old Zheng, who had already run to the door, turned back and shouted at him, "Moral Restraint!"
Xu Huo blocked with an air barrier. In the moment he looked away, Old Zheng had already disappeared from the doorway.
Putting on the Orb of Murmurs, he kicked through the wall. Without needing to leave the room, he launched an attack from inside. The other couldn't see him, but he could accurately sense his position. Crossing through rooms and the entire corridor, he successfully blocked Old Zheng's path and used "Same-Sex Repulsion" to bounce him back from the stairwell into the corridor!
Old Zheng's expression was no longer as relaxed as before. After a brief pause, his face turned even uglier.
"Can't use the ticket anymore?" Xu Huo held the "Eye of the Dead," staring at him coldly. "Let me make it clear: unless you die, you will never escape this instance!"
As his words fell, the distance between them was only a few feet. Old Zheng seemed to have grown accustomed to his speed. He kicked off the ground and flew backward, simultaneously throwing out a scroll-like object. The suddenly unfurled cloth instantly sealed the entire corridor.
Unfortunately, the prop didn't last two seconds before Xu Huo slashed it apart. Watching Old Zheng flee ahead, he raised his hand and used "Written Intensity."
Old Zheng, with his back to him, twisted his head in an odd posture at that moment—his body was still running forward, but his head involuntarily turned back, stuck as if jammed, unable to turn around. His eyes could only stare fixedly at Xu Huo!
Seeing Xu Huo's figure blur into an afterimage, he produced a bubble-blowing machine prop. With a casual wave, countless bubbles surged out, instantly filling the entire corridor and obscuring both sides' vision.
Five seconds passed. Old Zheng saw Xu Huo standing still in the bubbles, on alert and having lost his target. He sneered coldly, grabbed a noose, and slipped it over his head!
The noose tightened automatically, dragging Xu Huo toward him. Old Zheng cautiously kept his distance until Xu Huo's legs, kicking against the ground, gradually lost strength. Then he said slowly, "I thought you were something special..."
A cold blade pierced through his chest, appearing in his field of vision stained with blood. Old Zheng lowered his head, opened his mouth, and first spat out a mouthful of blood. He turned back in disbelief, only to find another Xu Huo standing behind him, unknown to him!
He seemed to want to say something, but the blood choking his mouth consumed his last chance.
Xu Huo withdrew his hand, casually pushed the body down, picked up the noose that had actually caught nothing, and delivered another sword strike, finishing Old Zheng off.
Once the man was dead, he received a game notification. But after searching through the remains, he found that the green injection was nowhere to be found!
His mind quickly replayed what had just happened. Xu Huo leaped onto the windowsill. Looking out, he saw that Old Eagle, who had been tasked with intercepting him, had already run two streets away. Lin Zhenhuai was with him, while the others were nowhere to be seen.
Turning to face the hotel, he leaped backward, falling rapidly from the high floor. Before landing, he pulled out "Chair Facing Up" and landed safely. Without even glancing at the now-empty hotel, he headed straight for the museum city gate.
He had miscalculated. Old Zheng and Old Eagle had split up—one to distract him, the other acting as bait while actually transferring the injection. These people claimed to be after high-level props, and while that might have been part of it, they were almost certainly aware of the S-version potion. Otherwise, they wouldn't have passed it off so quickly.
The two minutes it took to kill Old Zheng were enough for these people to scatter and escape.
Although Xu Huo couldn't be sure whether the injection taken from the puppet arm was the S-version potion, there was no way he was letting something he had obtained be snatched away like this.
Now, whether these people had tickets or not, they would have to go through the main gate to get out.
He sped across the rooftops of shops, but before he could take two steps, his foot suddenly felt like it had stepped on some kind of mechanism. Looking down, the ground was still empty, but his right foot was clamped front and back by invisible serrated objects, like a bear trap, immobilizing him.
"Hehe! Another fat sheep!" Two oddly dressed players jumped out from under the shop, grinning as they approached him.
Tapping "Universal Lubricant," the invisible prop on his foot was removed. He grabbed the long blade aimed at him with one hand, then turned to look at the player. The moment their eyes met, the other, for some reason, stood frozen in place, and was cleanly decapitated.
As the corpse fell, Xu Huo turned to look at the other player.
