Chapter 744: Turn Off the Lights and Party

"This doesn't look like a normal human face at all," Long Aotian said. "Cheeks painted red, a wax figure?"

"Why would there be a wax figure in a corpse-hiding hotel?"

"It might be the one that escaped from the Wax Museum yesterday." Xu Huo wasn't sure if the wax figure on the screen was the same one that had run out of the Wax Museum the day before.

"Wax figures are alive," Xiao Ling said. "The plastic mannequins we saw before didn't have that much attack power. They could drag away a living person."

"Should we go look for someone?" Long Aotian asked.

Xiao Ling answered his question with silence.

Just then, the TV in the living room outside turned on by itself, playing a news broadcast:

"Attention, all citizens. The Baiyun Prison, closest to the Museum City, has experienced an unprecedented large-scale prison break. Multiple criminals are still at large. According to police sources, three serial killers have fled to the vicinity of Museum City. Citizens are advised to lock their doors and windows and not go out at night."

The news looped several times. Xu Huo took photos of the three wanted criminals.

"There's no way there are actually three such wanted criminals," Long Aotian said. "The venue just made up an excuse to kill people. The faces of these three are clearly stitched together."

No sooner had he finished speaking than the lights in the room began to flicker, and a red warning icon appeared on the TV screen: "Alert! Museum City's electrical system has been damaged! Alert! Museum City's electrical system has been damaged! Alert! Museum City's electrical system has been damaged!"

After three warnings, the TV went dark along with the lights. The hotel, and indeed the entire Museum City, was plunged into darkness.

"This wasn't part of the program the previous two nights." Xu Huo glanced toward the cemetery and gestured with his chin. "Did you see this the night before last?"

Xiao Ling took out a telescope item. "What's crawling out of the graves?"

"Let me see, let me see!" Long Aotian squeezed over and borrowed her item. "Holy crap! That's insane!"

The Decapitation Cemetery now looked like a massive resurrection show. Skeletons from the shallow, dug-up graves were crawling out directly, while others were knocking on coffins from below, the sound carrying unusually far across the open space.

"Ah...!!!" A shrill scream, like something from a TV show, came from outside, followed by pleas for mercy and cries of anguish. It seemed someone was frantically fleeing inside the hotel.

Without looking, it was clear the instance difficulty had increased. At that moment, someone frantically pounded on their door for help, but the three people in the room ignored it. Xiao Ling and Long Aotian kept watch on the door and window respectively, while Xu Huo stared at the cemetery.

More than a dozen skeletons had already crawled out. They called out to their friends, helped dig out a few more skeletons, and then set off toward the center of Museum City.

Xu Huo raised an eyebrow and was about to track them in real-time when the noise outside the door attracted the players who were hunting them. The leading player burst through the door and made a finger-frame gesture at the three of them. "Cheese!"

This froze Xiao Ling and Long Aotian in a slightly forward-leaning pose, ready to act. The two players behind the leader teleported from the doorway to right in front of them, one on each side, slashing at their throats and chests!

"Unbreakable Window Paper!"

"Against the Current, No Advance Means Retreat!"

Xiao Ling and Long Aotian used items in succession. The blade aimed at the former was blocked by a paper-thin membrane, while Long Aotian suddenly slid backward a meter. Both successfully dodged the attack, and at the same time, the leading player's trait duration ended.

But before they could create distance, the player on the left threw a contract-like piece of paper onto the ground. "Shared Room Rules!"

Several black lines suddenly appeared on the floor, dividing the entire room into six sections. The six people standing in the room each occupied one square.

Long Aotian tried to move outward, but his feet simply couldn't cross the line. Xiao Ling was in the same situation. Before they could react, the three closely coordinated players opposite them had already started moving!

Just then, Xu Huo, who was standing behind them, took out a bottle of potion and sprayed it into the air, shouting, "Watch out, poison!"

The three players instinctively dodged to the side. Before they could figure out what the substance was, one of them was kicked into the wall by Xu Huo, who had suddenly charged forward!

"How?!" The player who had used the contract item was visibly shocked to see him walk out of the square. But the player who had been kicked was already stuck to the wall, and Xu Huo was heading straight for him!

This person instinctively tried to create distance, but after taking two steps back, he found his back against the wall, and the door three meters away had disappeared!

"He's good at illusions!" the leading player saw through it. "Keep backing up, the door is behind you!"

That player did try to retreat, but neither a person nor an item could open the door. Forced to, he had to return to the room to rescue his other companion, while the leading player blocked Xu Huo.

The sound of a lighter clicking open and shut echoed continuously in the room as Xu Huo repeatedly set fire toward the opponent.

Although protective suits might not necessarily catch fire, no one wanted to be burned. The leading player relied on speed to dodge the flames. After several attempts, he hadn't caught fire at all, but the room's furnishings were burning extensively.

During this time, the leading player kept trying to get close, but Xu Huo's speed wasn't slow either. The distance between them remained over three meters, and with his speed, Xu Huo could also dodge his items.

However, the room soon became unsuitable for fighting. First, because of the flames, and second, because both sides needed to avoid each other's items. So the battlefield shifted to the corridor.

This room had already entered Xu Huo's spiritual realm when the leading player broke in. Now that he opened the door and went out, the range of the spiritual realm expanded accordingly.

But the moment he stepped into the corridor, Xu Huo immediately sensed something wrong with the hotel.
