Chapter 648: Tracking and Threats

The situation on Gu Yu's side wasn't looking good. They, along with some other isolated players, were trapped inside a large building.
The xenomorphs weren't zombies that only wreaked havoc on the ground. They had incredible climbing and jumping abilities, and even knew how to search floor by floor, following the scent of humans. They could only choose rooms with smaller windows, like bathrooms, to hide.
Now that the Special Defense Department had concentrated their efforts to shrink the blockade, more and more xenomorphs were gathering nearby, and they had missed their best chance to escape.
"The Special Defense Department's rescue helicopter has been circling nearby, but it can't find a place to land. The xenomorphs will follow the helicopter," Gu Yu said. "I don't know why, but they haven't been shooting the xenomorphs."
Xu Huo didn't tell her that those mutated people could still be saved. After confirming the location, he drove over.
The sound of the car attracted nearby xenomorphs, so there were always some approaching along the way, though not in large numbers—the car could just plow through them.
But as time passed, the surrounding xenomorphs started to cluster. Xu Huo drove while looking around. There were too many buildings blocking the view, so he couldn't see everything. He asked the Painting Woman, "Is anyone following us?"
The Painting Woman pointed outside in confusion, as if asking, "Aren't those xenomorphs people?"
Xu Huo paused, then casually took out a piece of paper and placed it on the steering wheel.
After using the "Complete Script" trait, words began to write themselves on the paper:
"...When Xu Huo drove away, he didn't notice the one-eyed owl in the tree. Its other eye had been gouged out and replaced with a fake one."
"The owl followed behind the car until Xu Huo drove a new vehicle through a checkpoint before flying away."
...
"The xenomorphs around the car were increasing. Xu Huo realized this phenomenon was abnormal, so he searched the surroundings. He saw but didn't pay attention to a player hiding among the xenomorphs. This player had just climbed onto the roof of the car..."
"Screech!"
Before the words could fully appear, a long sword pierced through the car roof, stabbing toward the driver's seat. The metal friction produced a harsh, grating sound, accompanied by sparks!
"Squeal—!" Xu Huo dodged the sword and slammed on the brakes, using the inertia to throw the person off. But unexpectedly, when the person was thrown off, one hand stuck to the car hood. The mucus that appeared on his palm not only stopped his fall but also allowed him to use the momentum to leap back onto the car, swinging his sword at the Painting Woman!
His appearance was no different from a xenomorph. If there was any difference, it was only in the look in his eyes at that moment. Although he attacked the Painting Woman, his attention was on Xu Huo. With his other hand, he threw a micro-bomb.
He probably thought Xu Huo would try to save the Painting Woman first, creating a time gap. Even if he couldn't kill him, he could at least injure him.
Unfortunately, Xu Huo didn't play by the rules. The moment the sword was thrust, he didn't hesitate to kick open the car door and jump out.
The player's expression froze, and a hint of mockery appeared in his eyes. He was about to pull back and follow, but suddenly the sword got stuck in the car window!
"Boom!" The micro-bomb destroyed the car cabin, and the player was also thrown back. As he retreated, he saw the Painting Woman, who had been sitting in the passenger seat, holding onto the tip of his sword and being dragged out along with him!
This person retracted his prop sword and switched to a gun. But after a few shots, the bullets seemed to sink into a sponge without any effect. The next second, he was pinned to the ground by a combination of knee strikes to the chest and face slaps.
After taking a few slaps, he came to his senses. Enraged, he flipped the woman riding him over. She flipped over his head, but then he felt his hair being grabbed. That woman, like a brawling fishwife, yanked his head back and forth while pretending to cry, her mouth wide open but no sound coming out.
"What the hell!" The xenomorph man grabbed her arm and twisted it, pulling out a dagger. But just as he raised his hand, it was severed at the wrist. As he screamed, a shadow suddenly crashed into him from a distance. With two crisp sounds of bones breaking, the man was sent flying several meters, rolling to the ground, and was immediately surrounded by a swarm of xenomorphs!
"Borderline!" The xenomorph group was repelled by a visible shockwave. The bloodied xenomorph man turned to flee, but after taking two steps, his face changed—he didn't know when a thin thread had pierced through his chest!
The thread was connected to his heart.
The xenomorph man didn't use a ticket to escape. Instead, he turned to face Xu Huo, "Don't you want to know where your little brother is?"
Xu Huo's expression paused, but the man continued, "Do you dare to let me die? If I die, that little brother of yours will be handed over to human traffickers. He might be sold to some perverts with special fetishes, or raised as an organ donor. I heard you used to like gambling. Want to take a gamble?"
The xenomorph man stood still with his arms raised, closing his eyes confidently as the xenomorphs swarmed toward him.
Xu Huo's face darkened. He pulled the kite string, lifting the man, and sprinted toward the nearest tall building.
The xenomorph man wasn't worried about his situation at all. Instead, he provoked him, "That's right, run like that. It's best if you run out of the blockade. If I'm safe, your little brother will live well!"
Xu Huo remained silent. Using the strings, he borrowed momentum several times to reach the rooftop. When his feet touched the ground, he didn't pull the xenomorph man up. Instead, he hung him outside the railing of the two-hundred-meter-high rooftop, letting him swing in the wind.
The xenomorph man, hanging in the air, looked up and happened to see Xu Huo standing on the railing. He laughed loudly, "Using this kind of method to force a player to submit? As long as my signal disappears, that kid will be handed over to the traffickers immediately..."
The man standing on the railing suddenly raised his hand and let go. The thin thread in his hand also disappeared.
The remaining threats were blown away by the wind before they could finish. The xenomorph man fell in shock, then became extremely angry. He tore a button from his clothes and crushed it, shouting into the sky, "Go find him in hell!"
"It seems this is the signal." Xu Huo's voice suddenly sounded behind him.
The xenomorph man struggled to turn his head, only to find that Xu Huo was falling with him. Strangely, he seemed unaffected by the airflow. Although he was falling, his clothes were perfectly still.
In contrast, the xenomorph man, whose face was distorted by the wind, looked particularly pathetic. He also saw that the signal transmitter, which should have turned to ash in his hand, had appeared intact in Xu Huo's hand!
His face changed again. The xenomorph man reached out and grabbed at the air. After missing, he repeated the action several times, and his expression gradually turned to panic.
"Can't escape into the game anymore?" Xu Huo maintained the same falling speed as him, smiling as he said, "You didn't think a player's abilities would never disappear, did you?"
The xenomorph man became terrified, "You did this!"
Xu Huo's expression didn't change, but his voice was icy, "I find you people really amusing. Threatening people with such low-level tactics like kidnapping children, and you're still proud of yourselves. What, do you think you won't die?"
