Chapter 482: Causing Destruction

The Duchess felt great disgust toward Duke Tal and his group, but she had some sympathy for children from poor backgrounds, so she asked Xu Huo for details about charity work.
Xu Huo answered each question, and it was clear she was satisfied.
After a while, someone came in to find the Duchess, and she left reluctantly, giving Xu Huo a business card before she went.
Xu Huo saw her out and said, "I should be going back too."
The Duchess seemed to think of something unpleasant, her smile fading slightly as she added, "Young man, don't learn bad habits."
Xu Huo smiled but said nothing.
The Duchess stared at him intently for two seconds before turning and leaving.
Only after watching her disappear around the corner of the corridor did Xu Huo's smile vanish. He lit a cigarette and returned to the smoking room.
Now the room was empty.
District 011's architectural design was ahead of its time. Most high-rise buildings were fully enclosed, with fresh air systems installed in small, dense configurations.
This kind of protection effectively prevented people from entering the building through abnormal channels, but it also had a drawback: facility maintenance was inconvenient, especially inside the air ducts. If repairs were needed, mini robots had to be used.
Mini robots capable of autonomous fine operations were still cutting-edge technology in District 011. They existed here, but not in large numbers.
Xu Huo first used his own detector to check the room for alarms or surveillance devices, then used a water jet gun to test the ventilation opening. After confirming no alarm was triggered, he removed the decorative mesh covering it.
This ventilation opening was only as wide as two palms placed side by side, just enough for a remote-controlled car to enter.
Xu Huo placed a remote-controlled car equipped with a detector into the opening and guided it deeper into the duct.
The interior was more spacious than the entrance, but noticeable vibrations could be felt near the machinery's operating areas. However, no sensors were installed on the duct walls.
Xu Huo retrieved the remote-controlled car, loaded it with small bottles of "mind-bendingly good stuff," and placed them one by one next to the machines.
Once the foul odor began to spread, he put the remote-controlled car away and returned to the previous room.
The ventilation system accurately delivered the stench of the incredibly foul potion to every room. Duke Tal and his group had already come out of their rooms, shouting at the waitstaff to explain what was happening.
But the problem wasn't limited to one room. Now even the corridor was filled with the smell. Someone muttered the words "terrorist attack," and Duke Tal and his group's faces changed color as they hurriedly rushed outside.
By then, the club had begun evacuating personnel. Alarms were blaring, nearby anti-riot robots were gathering around the building, rescue teams were on their way, and the club's inspection personnel entered the building immediately.
People were streaming in and out of the building. Xu Huo, who had already exited, quickly moved away from the vicinity, found a blind spot for surveillance, changed his face, and dragged someone into the shadows. He stripped off the person's coat, put it on, and left through another exit.
After leaving, he returned to the club building, blending into the crowded throng on the first floor.
Setting a fire in a metal building like this was difficult, but fortunately, the club had electrical equipment. However, players had probably already gone to those areas, so he knocked out a maintenance worker halfway, picked up the tools, and headed for the control room.
The control room wasn't hard to find. He just grabbed a waiter who hadn't managed to leave yet and asked. Thanks to his uniform, he found the control room without any trouble.
"What are you doing here?" Two players were guarding the control room door.
"The manager sent me to check if the main console had any issues and to turn off the alarm..."
Before he could finish, the two players' eyes went momentarily blank. Xu Huo knocked them out, entered the control room, and easily found the locations where players and xenomorphs were being held.
Corresponding control points also had relevant data.
He opened all the holding cells for the players, and after about ten seconds, he opened two more doors to release a pair of xenomorphs.
Just as he was about to shut down the building's operational systems, he sensed someone behind him. Without turning around, he cut the power directly.
The entire building plunged into darkness, but that was no problem for players. The player behind him attacked, swinging a three-meter-long blade while shouting, "Freeze and be happy!"
With a combination of trait and item, Xu Huo felt his feet frozen to the spot. However, he had already blocked with the Crimson Sword, wearing diamond gloves as he grabbed the "Hurt Not the Self" item to twist the opponent's long blade to the side. Taking advantage of their momentary misalignment, he pretended to dash for the door!
The player thought he was trying to escape and threw an ice ball in retaliation, but Xu Huo's move was a feint. His real target was the window.
"Crack!" The glass shattered, and he leaped out the window, dropping rapidly to the fifth floor before re-entering the building.
The club player wanted to follow but lacked an item for mid-air movement, so he had to first open the control panel to notify the club to lock down the building.
But in that brief moment, Xu Huo had already reached the first floor. Some people hadn't managed to escape yet. As security was deploying robots to intercept, a loud explosion and the crash of an elevator falling echoed through the building. A xenomorph burst out of the elevator shaft, and the panicked crowd surged forward, breaking through the barriers and rushing outside.
Screams and roars filled the air. Xu Huo noticed a few injured people mixed in the crowd, likely players who had escaped.
"No one leaves!" A flying car landed at the entrance, and the black-clad player who had fought Xu Huo earlier jumped out. "No one is allowed to leave! The person who destroyed the building is right here!"
"Move aside!" A well-dressed man pushed forward angrily. "There are xenomorphs inside! Your club can't escape responsibility for this! And you dare to block people? Can you bear the consequences?!"
Most of the people coming to the club were of high status. The players blocking the way didn't dare to use force, so they had to first deal with the xenomorphs, then open the passage to let people out in small groups.
The black-clad player stood nearby, scrutinizing everyone.
Xu Huo quickly reached the entrance. The black-clad player raised a hand to stop him. "Wait!"
"What's the matter?" Xu Huo looked up, his expression displeased.
The black-clad player's suspicious eyes reflected Xu Huo's red suit. After a moment, he withdrew his hand and let him pass, turning his attention to someone else.
Only after reaching a safe position did Xu Huo look back. He saw the black-clad player still staring at him uncertainly. Straightening his clothes, Xu Huo walked away expressionlessly.
When he returned to his car, the driver's seat was already occupied. Bai Kou gestured for him to sit in the passenger seat.
Once the car lifted off, Bai Kou said, "I didn't expect you to be such a hot-blooded youth. But those people won't get away."
