# Chapter 470: Bad Luck
After they entered, the escort personnel didn't completely seal off the transition car. Instead, they used an item to create a transparent water wall between the two cars.
The thin layer of flowing water forming the water wall not only had defensive capabilities but could also automatically dismantle any defensive walls that players in Car 1 tried to erect, eventually forcing them to abandon attempts to block the view and only seal off the other sides of the car.
Car 2 remained sealed with metal walls, while the scroll in Car 1 had been replaced by a huge wooden crate. It was unclear what kind of device was outside, but inside there was a massive rotating wheel. As the short-haired female player pushed it, the sound of "click-clack" mechanical movements came from outside—at the same time, the wave of xenomorphs outside crashed onto the train!
The entire train momentarily stalled, as if overwhelmed, but soon began moving forward again, though at a greatly reduced speed.
The item in Car 1 kept turning continuously, and from outside came the unceasing sound of flesh being torn, like a meat grinder. It would occasionally jam due to the xenomorphs outside.
"There are too many xenomorphs," someone said. The wheel gradually became stuck as well, but what was worse was that special xenomorphs had appeared outside, and the items in both Car 1 and Car 2 were damaged again.
"At this rate, the train might not make it to the next station," Xu Huo said at this point.
This was also the concern of other players, so the tattooed player put on a protective mask and took out a bottle of potion.
The other escort personnel also put on protective masks. Xu Huo had planned to share his spare protective masks with Dr. Deng, but Dr. Deng pulled out two laboratory-grade protective masks instead. "These are lab-exclusive, usually not available outside. Using these is the safest."
Xu Huo took them as instructed and put one on. He saw the tattooed player open the potion and blow the gas toward the cracks above.
The few xenomorphs clustered at the cracks immediately let out agonized screams, struggling to retreat from the gaps. But the potion seemed to have another effect—soon, sounds of xenomorphs devouring their own kind came from outside. Likewise, the xenomorphs that had eaten their kin showed symptoms of pain and madness, only to be devoured by others in turn.
The trampling sounds overhead showed the potion's effect spreading like a plague. Within just a few minutes, there was a brief calm above Car 2, while the attacks on Car 1 grew increasingly fierce.
"These xenomorphs aren't stupid either," Weiwei said with a smile, then released several smoke-like insect creatures through the gaps. As her face turned pale, the xenomorphs outside began lining up to jump off the tracks. Coincidentally, the train was passing through an area with cliffs on both sides—once down, there was no coming back up.
"Good, no paths on either side now. There shouldn't be any more xenomorphs boarding..." Dr. Deng carefully peered through the gap, but the next second his eyes widened and he stumbled back two steps. "Winged xenomorphs!"
Xu Huo had better eyesight and could see with just one glance that a group of creatures resembling prehistoric pterosaurs was flying toward them from outside the tracks!
"Boom!" The first xenomorph crashed onto the train. Black blood and a pus-green mucus splattered through the gaps, and where it landed on nearby tables and chairs, it actually melted small pits into the metal surface!
"This type of xenomorph is an evolved version of a mutated bat. Its venom has strong corrosive properties that can melt metal... Normally, this kind of xenomorph doesn't appear near the tracks unless specially guided!" Dr. Deng said, clutching his head.
How the xenomorphs had come was obvious, but the key issue was that these creatures were layering themselves against the outside of the car like paper, all in suicide attacks. They would pounce and automatically spit out mucus. Even standing inside the car, one could feel the outer metal melting!
The players in Car 2 showed little change in expression, but the seven players in Car 1 gradually grew grim.
This wasn't just about consuming items and traits—the sheer number of xenomorphs being continuously attracted was overwhelming. There was no way they could kill them all or rely on defensive items to last until dawn!
Within just a few minutes, the defensive items in Car 1 were riddled with holes. Weiwei and the others had to fully arm themselves, preparing for a hard fight. Just as they finished putting on their protective suits, the first xenomorph broke through the defenses and lunged at the short-haired female player at lightning speed!
The female player was slammed into the opposite side of the car. When her back hit the mucus, the outer layer of her protective suit immediately dissolved. She shot the xenomorph in the head, but before she could even stand up straight, another xenomorph outside reached through the hole in the item and clawed straight through her protective suit. The corrosive mucus that touched her made her cry out in pain, and before she could react, she was pinned down by another xenomorph that had charged in!
The other players were also entangled by xenomorphs. After Weiwei's father killed the xenomorph attacking him, he took out a honeycomb-like item. Several tiny bees crawled out from it and flew to the other xenomorphs in the car. With a series of "bang bang" sounds, the xenomorphs' heads were blown open.
Weiwei and the others joined forces to throw the xenomorph corpses out and used items to patch the holes in the car. But the items serving as the car's shell were already riddled with holes—blocking one spot left another exposed. It was only a matter of time before the xenomorphs swarmed in.
At this point, Weiwei's mother looked toward Car 2. She dashed forward in a single stride, her body enveloped in a seven-colored rainbow light as she used a knife no longer than a finger to cut through the water wall defense.
The barrier between the two cars was broken, but the moment she stepped inside, her body was instantly crushed into a bloody pulp. The flying liquid splashed onto the faces of two players who had been following behind, hoping to take refuge in Car 2!
Their expressions changed instantly. Without even wiping off what was on their protective masks, they hastily retreated.
Meanwhile, xenomorphs kept pouring into the car one after another. The remaining six players were once again plunged into a bitter struggle.
These people weren't without real skills—almost all of them had large-scale offensive items. But the narrow car wasn't suitable for wide-open combat. It was easy to accidentally injure allies, and the items couldn't fully display their effects.
However, they didn't dare to completely dismantle the items serving as the car's outer shell either, because the dimension train might be traveling through areas of spatial chaos. If they went out, they could be swept away by air currents or xenomorphs. Once separated from the train, there was almost no hope of survival!
So, these six people struggled to stay on the train under these conditions.
What seemed like a long battle had actually only lasted about ten minutes. Xu Huo could tell that Weiwei and the others were consciously conserving items and choosing to engage in hand-to-hand combat with the xenomorphs. But as a new round of high-frequency sounds came from the direction of the locomotive, entirely new xenomorphs appeared on the train. Pairs of glowing red eyes seemed to emit light on their own!
"It's a train-killer monster!" Weiwei shouted from up ahead. "This is really bad luck!"
