Chapter 468: Xenomorphs Surround the Train

After Lawrence Li left, the atmosphere inside the carriage did not ease. Everyone remained silent, no one spoke, and no one attempted to escape from the carriage. As for fighting each other, that was even more impossible.

Dr. Deng probably sensed the awkward atmosphere and couldn't help asking, "Is Lawrence Li a very famous player?"

Xu Huo glanced at him. "You've been to so many places, haven't you heard of him?"

"The game world is so vast, there are countless famous players." Dr. Deng wore an expression that said, "How could I possibly know everyone?"

"Lawrence Li is a Super Player," Weiwei spoke up, her voice already recovered. "He's a high-priority Wanted Criminal on the Game Government's bounty list. Every game district has his wanted information."

Even if someone hadn't seen his face, they should know the name.

Unfortunately, Dr. Deng was a fake player, but he immediately grew nervous again. "Will he kill people?"

Xu Huo didn't answer, but the little girl Weiwei shouted irrationally, "What do you think?"

Dr. Deng fell silent, as if he had given up struggling.

During the time Lawrence Li was away, only two players got off the train; the others remained unchanged.

As night fell, it was time to turn off the lights, but the lights in the carriage stayed on, making the train glide along the tracks like a ribbon of light.

"What's going on?" the players grew uneasy.

Regardless of whether Xenomorphs might attack the train, the lights were usually turned off at night because there was no guarantee that distant Xenomorphs wouldn't be attracted by the light.

"What the hell is going on?" Weiwei said displeasedly. "We can't even find the Flight Attendant."

"It's over, it's over, our window glass is already broken..." Dr. Deng muttered.

"Calm down. There are plenty of ways to seal the windows," Xu Huo said, his gaze shifting to Weiwei and the others.

Weiwei's group had a total of seven players. They no longer hid their identities and stood together tactically. Upon hearing Xu Huo's words, Weiwei's "parents" exchanged glances, then together picked up a scroll. When they unrolled it, pure white canvas sealed the windows on both sides.

The second carriage was in the same situation, using metal to completely seal the glass on the left, right, and rear doors. However, both sides instinctively left the windows of the middle Transition Car open.

Lawrence Li had not returned to the carriage. Around ten o'clock at night, the sound of heavy objects landing on the roof echoed outside for the first time. Then, like a torrential downpour, a continuous booming sound filled the air. No one knew how many Xenomorphs had gathered outside the train, and everyone could clearly feel the train slowing down under the added weight.

The players inside the carriage closely monitored the commotion outside. After the train's speed decreased, the sound of Xenomorphs boarding gradually lessened but still didn't stop.

"There must be several layers piled up outside," Weiwei said.

"If the items had blocked the light, this shouldn't have happened," Xu Huo remarked.

Weiwei's mother took out a telescope, pressed it against the window, looked out, and said, "Our items didn't block the light at all!"

"How is that possible?" Weiwei's father frowned, then suddenly realized, "Could someone have tampered with them?"

The players in the same carriage immediately looked at Xu Huo.

"I'm not crazy," Xu Huo glanced at them. "What benefit would I get from attracting Xenomorphs?"

This explanation wasn't very convincing, but there was a more obvious suspect ahead.

"Could it be Lawrence Li?" Dr. Deng looked around.

Just then, music suddenly started playing inside the carriage.

Xu Huo's expression changed. Among the Xenomorphs that liked to attack Dimension Trains, those attracted by light sources were the weakest. Without light, they quickly lost their vitality. This was much milder than Xenomorphs attracted by sound, smell, or air vibrations!

The Xenomorph he encountered near the end of the preliminary train was one of them. Although it wasn't particularly sensitive to hearing, it was still a difficult type to deal with. That incident had been caused by a game error, and the game had compensated with a Ticket.

Now, the train inexplicably playing music was undoubtedly attracting other Xenomorphs!

"What benefit does he get from attracting Xenomorphs?" Dr. Deng shouted uncontrollably. "The train will derail!"

"Boom!" As if in response to his words, a loud crash came from the rear of the train. Like a snake whose tail had been stepped on, the entire train slammed on the brakes. After a violent jolt, the tracks screeched with a sharp, piercing sound. Then, a beast roared from the rear carriage!

Even inside the carriage, the sound was deafening. But what made everyone despair was that, in the next second, the position of the roar had clearly moved forward!

Screams and the sounds of metal twisting and tearing rang out continuously. These screams came not only from players but also from the Xenomorphs. However, after a short while, all these sounds stopped, leaving only the enraged roar of the beast. But it seemed trapped, remaining in place.

"Someone made a move." Weiwei and the others' gazes swept over Xu Huo and the escort personnel respectively.

Xu Huo knew that the effect of "Number Grid" had taken effect. This was originally meant to deal with Weiwei's group. If they and the escort personnel fought over the coffin box, the best plan was to move the box to the rear, lure them away, and then detach the rear carriage. That way, no matter how they fought, it wouldn't affect the entire train.

But unexpectedly, instead of trapping the people, it had trapped the Xenomorph.

With the Xenomorph trapped, the players in the rear carriage voluntarily detached it. As the train accelerated, the roars faded into the distance.

Unfortunately, that was only the first one.

The music didn't stop. Just a few minutes later, another Xenomorph caught up to the train and began a massacre on the roof.

The roof deformed under the violent stomping. Blood flowed down like water. The players inside the carriage learned their lesson and used soundproofing items to block the noise, temporarily preventing the Xenomorph from entering.

But that didn't mean they were safe. Some items had time limits. Once the limit expired, breathing or heartbeats could attract the Xenomorph's attention.

"Squeak, squeak, squeak..." The sound of metal scraping came from the third carriage. Just as others thought the players in that carriage had exposed themselves, the glass on the roofs of the first and second carriages was also torn open by a sharp claw—a finger-like appendage, resembling both a human finger and a primate's, slowly scraped across. Then the finger retracted, and a blood-red eye pressed against the gap, letting out a piercing shriek at the carriage!

The next second, players in both the front and rear carriages took action. In the second carriage, an escort personnel pinched the air above his head, and the Xenomorph exploded, blood dripping through the gap.

In the first carriage, a female player with a Buzz Cut flicked her middle finger toward the Xenomorph's position, and the shrieking creature fell silent.
