Chapter 366: Self-Destruction
Xu Huo had known before that Mr. Dong could control the castle, so when the castle began to change, he initially thought the other party had made a move. But when he turned around, he found the man was no longer in his original position. Everything inside the castle seemed to shrink, becoming dark and worn. The walls and floors began to overturn, and the ornate chandeliers, decorations, and even the tableware were wrapped in something indescribable, instantly turning gray and dusty.
As for the second and third floors, with the stairs shrinking, the structure between floors also began to change. Everything in the corridors was swallowed into the walls. Carpets and murals disappeared one after another, revealing mottled floors and walls.
"What's going on..." Frey's voice came from the third floor. He had just run to the stairwell when he let out a miserable scream before being twisted into the ground by the stairs and vanishing.
The fake He Pu on the first floor watched this scene with hatred in his eyes, but the next second, a rainbow light shot into the castle from outside. He abandoned the castle and the other players, leaping straight into the black hole at the center of the ring. The rainbow light immediately followed him in. A second later, the ring on the ground rapidly contracted, converging at the center in an instant and disappearing along with the black hole!
"Government players are here." You Qiwen supported Wei Landeng, who had come back to life. "Let's go!"
The two vanished from their spot simultaneously. The remaining three also had no intention of dealing with the 011 District government. Yu Shuai left first, and the Chen brothers glanced at Xu Huo, clearly not planning to fulfill their earlier promise. They exchanged a look and left directly.
Xu Huo didn't linger either. He exited from the right side of the castle at top speed.
He didn't plan to leave the 011 District for now, so he didn't use his return ticket. The rainbow light just now had been aimed at the fake He Pu, so the attention shouldn't be on him...
No sooner had this thought crossed his mind than a man and a woman in black uniforms suddenly appeared before him. Both had waist-length hair and delicate, similar features. Regardless of gender, they could be called beautiful, but they exuded an inhuman coldness.
Xu Huo stood still, allowing the two to scrutinize him.
He clearly saw a faint light flicker in their right eyes, then heard the woman say, "Evolution rate 20%. No traces of high-level space item usage. Not a marked target."
After speaking, the two lost interest in him and continued toward the castle.
These should be simulation robots, Xu Huo thought as he watched their retreating figures. From what they said, it seemed they weren't after stolen goods or because they had prior knowledge of a wanted criminal here, but were simply attracted by the high-level space item... The rainbow light that had flown toward the fake He Pu was probably what they called a "mark."
He didn't know what faction these two fake humans belonged to or whether they could catch up to the fake He Pu, but at least their intervention had forced the fake He Pu to stop so quickly.
Xu Huo turned and ran away from the castle. But just then, the grass suddenly turned into a pool of black water. As soon as he stepped on it, he began to sink—someone underwater was pulling him!
It was that fake He Pu. He hadn't gone far after all!
From the moment the black water appeared to when he was half-submerged was barely the blink of an eye. Xu Huo thrust his sword downward. It had no effect on the black water, but the hand gripping his foot noticeably recoiled. He immediately struggled to climb out, but under the constraint of the item, his strength was negligible. Seeing that he was about to sink completely, he hugged the "Fifty-Fifty Air Window" to his chest!
"Boom!" Like a massive inflatable swimming ring, the air window bounced up on the black water, lifting Xu Huo and the fake He Pu, who was still pulling him from below, into the air.
"Fine, come along then!" Xu Huo twisted and fell into the air window. The fake He Pu was horrified and wanted to let go, but it was too late. A huge tongue spat out from the air window, wrapped him up, and dragged him inside!
"Damn it!" A curse echoed across the empty grass, but the two of them, along with the air window, vanished from the spot.
His vision went dark for only a few seconds before brightening again. With his previous experience, Xu Huo pulled out the strings as he emerged from the air window. Sure enough, this time he was even higher than before. Looking down from above, a large expanse of reflective grid-like glass in the night kept enlarging in his field of vision. Around him were futuristic buildings he had seen during the day at the Game Government Base. Not far away, a black and a white flag fluttered, overlapping—this was the representative flag of the 011 District Game Government. Appearing here meant the air window hadn't sent him too far!
Adjusting his position in midair, Xu Huo swung his sword at the similarly falling fake He Pu. The sword energy converged on the tuning fork, becoming thin and elongated. Although it didn't inflict any injury on the fake He Pu, the latter seemed furious. Before landing, he took out that disc-shaped item again.
Just then, a blinding light shot out from the surrounding buildings, followed by an invisible shockwave!
The moment it swept over him, Xu Huo felt his limbs go weak and his vision darken. The five fingers gripping the strings slowly loosened, but the impending crisis of a rapid fall jolted him back to awareness. He hastily wrapped his entire arm into the strings and landed steadily a few seconds later.
After retracting the air window, he looked up to see the fake He Pu landing about ten meters away. The disc in his hand hadn't successfully activated. However, his attention was no longer on Xu Huo. He flashed toward the building in the southwest corner and struck the tuning fork with focused force!
"Zheng!" The tuning fork trembled violently. Bricks and stones were crushed, and the debris formed an arrow shape that shot from beneath his feet toward the building ahead!
Xu Huo realized he was trying to destroy the device emitting the shockwave. Four buildings around this open area were releasing shockwaves. Though arranged in four corners, they formed a complete closed loop. This shockwave likely affected more than just people—the fake He Pu's space item had failed to activate, probably for the same reason. So after landing, he immediately attacked the building.
But with the Game Government's flag flying here, even if this wasn't a critical location, it was at least a formal public space. The fake He Pu couldn't escape!
Before Xu Huo could turn around, five auras pierced into his perception range like spikes. Three went toward the fake He Pu, and two came to his side.
Xu Huo had no room to resist. A hand pressed the back of his head and slammed his face into the bricks. Then a foot stepped onto his lower back. A crisp, pleasant female voice said, "Huh? Why is this person so weak?"
Xu Huo struck back with his elbow, but the other party caught it with her palm and pushed him back down.
"Fighting all the way into the Enforcement Department. It's been a while since I've seen a player with this much guts." The female voice behind him laughed. "But it seems you're not the main event here."
The main event was with He Pu.
The ones intercepting him were a buzz-cut man and the two robots who had gone to Rose Castle earlier. The buzz-cut man intercepted the tuning fork attack, clenched his five fingers from a distance, and the fake He Pu's limbs suddenly contracted. As if being squeezed by something, he was slowly lifted off the ground.
