# Chapter 332: The Infant in the Suitcase
Everyone said it was impossible, but the suitcase man let out a cold laugh. "Do you really think the staff on this train are good people?"
"Whether they're good people or not has nothing to do with it," the old man said. "The game should have rules for both players and game staff."
"Since the flight attendant said it's a train-killing monster, then that kind of xenomorph probably really exists," the glamorous woman said. "Maybe it will appear again tonight. Instead of arguing about its true identity, shouldn't the most important thing be how to defend against it?"
"Drive them back." A man stood up, pointing at Xu Huo and the others. "I'm getting off tomorrow. Why should I share the risk for others?"
"We'll go to the front car," the female player said, about to move, but two players from the seventh car blocked her way. She raised an eyebrow. "What are you doing?"
"Nothing. We just want you to stay put in your own car," the glamorous woman said.
The female player sneered. "Aren't you afraid the train-killing monster will choose this car?"
"One more car means our risk decreases by one point," the old man spoke up. "Correspondingly, your risk also decreases. Whether you get attacked or not depends on luck."
The reasoning made sense, but the purple-haired player who had witnessed the horror in the tail car said, "I think merging cars is better. Those sixteen players were all killed in less than two hours. More people means more safety."
The other players considered it, but in the end they agreed to let Xu Huo and the others stay. However, the atmosphere wasn't harmonious. To be safe, one player used an item to seal the back door and said, "Seal the back door, leave the front door open. If something really happens, at least we won't have no way to escape."
Everyone tacitly avoided mentioning informing the players in the front cars about the train-killing monster.
After dinner, it was nearly eight o'clock. The train made an early announcement: "The train will turn off the lights. There may be minor turbulence when crossing dimensional cracks. Please return to your seats and do not move around."
It was much like the initial screening train. The lights went out, and the sky outside quickly darkened, sinking into blackness within a few breaths.
The breathing of more than twenty people in the seventh car all lightened at the same time. The old man said, "Everyone, don't be so nervous. I have a lighting item that allows people inside the car to see without alarming the xenomorphs clinging to the train. If something really happens, I'll use the item."
It was both a guarantee and a threat.
Xu Huo watched him take out a light bulb and hold it in his hand. After speaking, he silently moved toward the front door of the car. The suitcase man also seemed able to see in the dark, his eyes following the movement before stopping, then he withdrew his gaze to look at the others.
Xu Huo met his gaze calmly. The suitcase man glanced at him and then looked away.
But Xu Huo wasn't the only one who could see in the dark. The skinny monkey in the corner put his glasses back on and tentatively waved at the player beside him.
He was far away, and his wave was small. In the darkness, even if a player noticed, it would only register as "someone nearby is moving."
The skinny monkey's target was still the suitcase in the suitcase man's hands. He took out a piece of paper as thin as a sheet and placed it on the ground. Stepping on it, he used the faint friction sound of walking to cover his approach, quickly reaching the suitcase man and placing a stick of incense in front of him.
The incense was different from the sleep incense sold on the train, but its effect was immediate. The suitcase man's eyelids began to droop. Just as the skinny monkey was about to take the suitcase, the car suddenly lurched. A pattering sound like raindrops hit the windows, lasting at least three minutes.
All the players knew it was xenomorphs. Unlike the silent xenomorphs on the initial screening train, these ones scraped their nails against the windows, making short "squeaking" sounds.
The noise outside "woke" the suitcase man. His eyes snapped wide open in the darkness. As the skinny monkey looked toward the window, he struck with a knife-hand aimed at the monkey's neck!
The skinny monkey slid back quickly, but a gash still appeared on his neck. Without a second word, he ran toward the front door. The suitcase man didn't chase but watched him with a mocking expression. At that moment, from a car not far away, the sound of a window breaking rang out. Within seconds, faint light seeped through from the front!
"How is this possible!" someone in the car shouted in disbelief.
Anyone who had become a D-level player knew the rule about not turning on lights at night. The outside was full of xenomorphs. Turning on lights was asking for death! Even if a train-killing monster had entered the car, there was no need to panic to this extent!
"Boom! Boom!" A series of dense sonic booms followed. Without even looking, everyone knew the lit car was under siege. Xenomorphs from other cars were also racing toward that spot, roars like wild beasts rising and falling.
D-level players were no pushovers. Combined with the neighboring cars caught in the crossfire, at least dozens of players were locked in battle. Everyone expected this commotion to last a long time, but to their surprise, a high-frequency piercing sound came from the front the next moment, and the xenomorphs on the train fled in all directions!
As the high-frequency sound continued, the lights in the front cars gradually came on. Through several glass windows, Xu Huo saw passengers from the first and second cars moving this way, as if conducting a search.
His eyes shifted immediately to the suitcase man, who was opening his suitcase.
Even with just a crack, a familiar pulsing sound came from inside, mixed with a piercing shriek. While the other players in the car were completely unaware, Xu Huo found it unbearable. He covered the suitcase with one hand and pulled it away from the man with the other.
The man didn't seem surprised by the interference. His face twisted with anger. "I knew you were a lackey of the Purge Squad!"
As he spoke, he spat out a tiny needle from his mouth. Xu Huo blocked it with his sword, but the small needle knocked him back two steps. Then the man flipped the suitcase open, revealing a purple-skinned infant inside!
But the child wasn't dead. It rolled out of the suitcase and lunged at the nearest glamorous woman, biting through her throat before she could react. Then it kicked off the not-yet-dead body, hung upside down from the ceiling of the car, and opened its mouth to emit another high-frequency shriek!
Xu Huo quickly retreated several steps and flicked on the lights in the car, but the infant lunged at him. When he dodged, it crashed into the car wall like a cannonball. The lights that had just come on went out again in less than three seconds!
However, this commotion had already alerted the suited men in the front. From a car away, one of them threw out a red jelly-like object. It passed through several doors without obstruction, reached the seventh car, and exploded on the spot!
The splashing liquid was highly corrosive, instantly injuring several players. The crawling infant, scalded by the liquid, let out a silent scream, then smashed through the window and quickly crawled away!
