Chapter 329: Twenty Dead

The smell of blood filling the air kicked off the fight. The burly man turned around and punched the player who had ambushed him, and the two clashed, immediately dragging nearby players into the fray.

With eyes nearly impossible to open and ears almost completely deafened, even using items was difficult. The female player at the front door stumbled from a collision and directly activated the cloth strips scattered on the ground for indiscriminate attack. The soft cloth strips flew like arrows through the carriage, nailing themselves into tables, chairs, and windows.

The windows weren't easy to break, but leaving a small dent was enough to terrify the others. The golden-haired man threw out a water ball, which rolled forward, and the wildly flying cloth arrows involuntarily pierced into it.

"Who?!" the female player roared, but her voice was completely drowned out by the thunder. She raised her hand and tossed out something like a ring, about to control it, when the golden-haired man flashed forward and grabbed her hand. The two locked in combat.

No one was guarding the front door anymore. The skinny man, carefully avoiding the others, crept to the front door and slipped out.

Xu Huo stepped forward, but a player who had been eyeing him took the chance to attack from behind. Even without sight, he could feel a force rapidly expanding behind him.

He dodged backward while turning his head, forcing his eyes open just enough to see what was behind him—a paper beast. Its form was crude, but one claw swipe could cut a seat in half!

The Crimson Sword appeared in his hand instantly. Xu Huo swung and sliced the paper beast in half at the waist, but it didn't lose its vitality. Instead, it instantly recombined, its fake eyes turning to look at him. At the same time, the player controlling the paper beast stepped forward, flicking his fingers in the air. The nearby tables and chairs all flew up and smashed toward Xu Huo!

The carriage was only so big. Though Xu Huo tried his best to dodge, he couldn't avoid being cornered. He weaved around other players and was about to head through the front door to the transition car when the player chasing him suddenly froze. The tables and chairs fell, and the paper beast reverted to a piece of paper.

He could vaguely see a bloody hand piercing through the other's chest and abdomen. The next second, lightning flashed, and two more players fell into a pool of blood. Shocked, Xu Huo immediately pulled open the front door and ducked out. Just as the door closed, a pair of blood-red eyes suddenly appeared on the other side of the glass window, staring at him like a monster, and forcefully pulled the door open!

In the blink of an eye, Xu Huo used the small note launcher to shoot two Skin-Retaining Bugs through the crack in the door. The bloody hand at the edge immediately withdrew. When lightning flashed again in the distance, the blood-red eyes had vanished.

Gripping the car door tightly, Xu Huo couldn't calm his mind. That couldn't have been a player. Could it be a xenomorph near the tracks?

Before he could think further, the skinny man came out from the front carriage, still carrying the black leather case. Seeing Xu Huo holding the door and glancing at the commotion inside, he smirked and tried to knock him out again.

After his Super Evolution, Xu Huo's perception of his surroundings had greatly improved. Even without seeing or hearing, he could track the man's movements. He dodged the attack and spun around, kicking him away.

The skinny man flew into the bathroom. Xu Huo strode over and picked up the leather case, immediately receiving a game prompt:

"This item has life characteristics and cannot be stored in the luggage compartment."

Just then, the door to the front carriage slammed open. The player who had crossed paths with Xu Huo saw the situation and immediately swept a leg at him!

The opponent was incredibly fast. After blocking two moves, Xu Huo's leather case was kicked away. The man caught it and retreated back into the front carriage, clearly not intending to continue the fight.

Since the door was closed, Xu Huo wasn't going to look for trouble. He stood firm in front of the car door.

The skinny man came out of the bathroom and, seeing the person with closed eyes standing at the carriage door, didn't dare act rashly. He just looked regretfully toward the front carriage, then leaned against the bathroom to wait.

Two hours wasn't long, but for players with sharp hearing, it was an absolute disaster. For the first hour, they could still fight in a chaotic mess, but after lives were lost, both stamina and items ran out. Coupled with the relentless thunder, they automatically called a truce midway, waiting for the thunderstorm zone to pass.

The thunderstorm came fiercely but passed quickly. As the edge of the clouds revealed daylight, within less than ten seconds, the train had completely exited the thunderstorm zone.

Xu Huo took off his earplugs and returned to the carriage. Scanning the scene, four were dead. The player who had controlled the paper beast still had a bloody hole in his chest and abdomen.

"Who did this? Too brutal," the skinny man said, sidling over as if nothing had happened. But seeing that everyone else's hands were clean, he curled his lip. "Daring to do it but not daring to admit it."

Everyone's ears were still ringing, so they couldn't hear him clearly. Even if they could, they wouldn't care. Whether it was a player from the same carriage killing, or someone who had killed and used a cleaning agent to cover the traces, it didn't matter. On the train, everyone was an enemy. Who cared about black players or red players?

The number of people in Xu Huo's carriage matched up, and there were no Skin-Retaining Bug corpses on the floor. He walked a few steps to the back door and opened it.

"So much blood..." The skinny man followed behind him, waving his hand to fan away the smell. But when he saw the carriage full of bodies, his expression changed. He stepped inside, flipped over the piled corpses, and felt the neck of one.

The glass window had a large hole. Sixteen bodies were all stacked here. Fresh blood had soaked the carpet, leaving wet footprints with every step.

The howling wind outside the window brought a moment of silence to those present. The baby-faced man said, "This person is too strong."

Players weren't afraid of killing each other, but killing an entire carriage of players in one go was on a completely different level. Crossing a thunderstorm zone and daring to kill so many—how many more would die after lights out?

"Is it a cannibal player?" the female player asked, her face pale.

"Not a cannibal player," the golden-haired man said. "Although almost all of them died from chest piercings, their organs are still intact."

"Not eating people doesn't mean they won't kill," the female player said. "Among the players I've seen, only cannibal players are this brutal."

"Maybe for everyone's safety, we should check the player numbers," the middle-aged woman said, struggling to stay calm, her eyes darting among the players.

"Number colors can be concealed," the female player said impatiently. "Besides, what's the point of finding out who the cannibal player is?"

If that person was among them, a few people would definitely die when exposed.

"It could also be a xenomorph that came in from outside," Xu Huo spoke up at this point.
