Chapter 3121: Message in the Mirror

The others in the room watched the mirror with a mix of tension and wariness. At the very least, they couldn't see anything wrong, which only made them more worried about something beyond their control emerging.

Everyone gripped their items and waited, but unexpectedly, after a moment, only the same knocking sound came from the mirror—like an echo of the previous noise, or perhaps someone imitating it...

Just as this thought flashed through their minds, they suddenly saw a door open deep within the mirror!

Some players instinctively looked behind them. Logically, a door should have opened behind them as well, but no such door existed. Even the room reflected in the mirror had changed. The interior of the mirror room was darker, with more blurred and shadowy areas, as if it had been painted black.

As for the suddenly opened door, it was also deep within the mirror. When the door opened, a tiny shadow could faintly be seen walking out from inside. At first, it was only as long as a finger, then quickly grew to the length of a palm, then a forearm—it was walking toward them from a great distance.

"What is this?" Cui Tan immediately asked Sen Sen.

Sen Sen frowned as well. "I don't know."

"It's your family's mirror, and you don't know!" Li De couldn't help raising his voice. "Is this a relic left by Mr. Carmen, or a trap set by your Field Clan?"

Sen Sen shot him a cold glance. "Don't say things that cause misunderstandings. The Field Clan is sincerely hosting everyone here. There's no reason for us to be accused so baselessly."

"Besides, I said before we came in that everything here is my grandfather's relics. No one but him could possibly know the exact uses of these items!"

Her reasoning was sound, but Li De clearly didn't believe it. "Don't joke around. If there were really valuable relics, would you just leave them sitting here?"

Sen Sen suppressed her anger before speaking. "The Field Clan isn't so poor that we need to use all of my grandfather's inheritance."

"Quiet down," Xu Huo interrupted them at that moment.

In just a few exchanges, the shadow had already grown to half a person's height and arrived before them. It mimicked Xu Huo's movements, knocking on the mirror from behind, then began climbing out of the mirror using both hands and feet.

Xu Huo stepped back two paces, and the other players also retreated to the door. But before they could make any further moves, the entire room suddenly plunged into darkness. The figure that had emerged from the mirror raised its hand, and when its fingers moved, a silver thread-like line appeared in the air.

This line connected the ceiling and the floor. The shadow lightly plucked it, and then a second and third silver thread appeared, one of which even pierced through the shadow's body.

The moment the silver thread passed through the shadow, its body began to expand again, gradually growing to adult height. Then the shadow grabbed the silver thread inside its body, seized the adjacent threads, and began weaving them together, tying knots. After repeating this several times, the silver threads formed an irregular small net.

The shadow leaped forcefully into the net, and in that instant, the space of the room seemed to shrink. Everything moved several meters toward it, including the players standing in the room.

Xu Huo and Sen Sen nearby, Li De and Cui Tan farther away—all of them were pulled within three meters of the shadow!

Almost face to face, Xu Huo looked at the shadow right in front of him. Before he could do anything, a powerful pressure descended from above, forcing him to bend over and crushing the shadow back to its original half-human height.

But this pressure only lasted two or three seconds. Once the weight lifted, Xu Huo immediately retreated, only to see the shadow lying flat on the ground, seemingly unable to escape.

However, this didn't last long either, because soon the shadow began digging a hole in the floor and buried most of its body into it—from the shape, it was a degree of contortion impossible for a human body.

The shadow curled up in the hole. After a moment, it raised its head, its blurry face looking around, finally fixing on Xu Huo's position. It waved at him, signaling him to come closer.

The shadow was a collection of spiritual power. Xu Huo was well aware of this, and precisely because he knew, he was certain this was a message left by Carmen Field. The spatial-temporal power, gravity, and body control the shadow displayed were actually identifying its identity. This information was preserved within spiritual power, meaning one had to be able to capture this spiritual energy to receive the message.

Seeing the shadow figure emerge from the mirror was the threshold, which was why the mirrors in the two rooms were different.

But Xu Huo wasn't sure if this message truly contained important information. It could entirely be a prank Mr. Carmen had played on a whim. And approaching the spiritual energy left by a Super Player was an extremely dangerous thing to do.

Seeing that he didn't move, the shadow paused, then extended its index finger and beckoned him again.

Xu Huo smiled slightly and tentatively took a step forward. Then, the shadow raised its hand, and the others vanished from the dark room, leaving only the two of them facing each other.

The shadow suddenly blew a breath forward. Like tangible black smoke, it spread out instantly. Xu Huo had no way to avoid it, but as his eyelids blinked, he saw part of the smoke condense into the shapes of small figures. They formed a circle, trying to capture a spherical mass of smoke in the center.

But no matter how they struggled, they failed. Then the small figures all looked up, only to see the smoke above them had condensed into the shape of an eye. The small figures all leaped upward, reaching for the eye, but for every inch they jumped, the eye rose an inch. For every inch they grew, the eye grew an inch too.

Some small figures cowered in fear. When they stood up again, their faces had turned into the shape of an eye.

Half of the small figures put on eye masks and fought the remaining ones. Eventually, the remaining small figures killed the masked ones. But as the small figures cheered, they returned to their state of encircling the sphere. The same small figures followed the same trajectory to catch the sphere, then they discovered the eye again, couldn't overcome it, some submitted and put on eye masks, and finally the small figures slaughtered each other.

The masked small figures lost again, and time rewound.

The third time, the masked small figures still lost, and time rewound again.

The fourth time, the fifth time... many times. Finally, it was the masked small figures' turn to win. The other small figures that were killed returned to smoke and never appeared again.

At this point, time seemed to move forward. The masked small figures leaped up, flying toward the giant eye above. Then the eye turned into a massive mouth and swallowed them, before returning to its eye form. But this time, the eye was more detailed, revealing that it was composed of countless smaller eyes.

At that moment, this eye looked at Xu Huo.
