# Chapter 3018: Patients and Family Members
"Are accidents common in this hospital?" Zong Lanzhi's gaze shifted from the sign to the attendance sheet beside it, then back to the nurse.
The long-haired nurse covered her lips with a smile. "How could that be? The hospital has just been renovated."
Just been renovated?
Several players among the group changed expressions slightly, because in their eyes, this hospital didn't look like it had been renovated at all. The greenery was untrimmed, the building's exterior was peeling, and the outpatient building was filled with the stench of decay and mold. The corners were leaking water and growing fungi of unknown origin. What kind of freshly renovated hospital looked like this?
Zong Lanzhi and Xiao Yue realized the instance had already begun to take effect, so they quickly ended the conversation and started registering names.
For safety, they all used fake names, but as they wrote, the nurse repeatedly reminded them, "You must remember your names clearly. From now on, room assignments and medication will be based on names. Rooms and medicine cannot be mistaken."
The players scattered assurances that they would definitely remember.
Once the names were written, Zong Lanzhi asked, "Can we tour the hospital now?"
But the nurse who had been gentle and kind just moments ago suddenly had a stiff smile. She looked at them reproachfully. "You need family members to accompany you for tours. You are all patients—how can you wander around freely?"
Perhaps having dealt with many uncontrollable patients, she reminded them again, "There are many security guards in the hospital."
As if to confirm the nurse's words, as soon as she finished speaking, several security personnel wearing uniform outfits and holding electric batons appeared inside and outside the building.
They were clearly not the night-shift security guards mentioned in the instance introduction.
"We should have kept a few people as family members earlier," Jiang Ke said.
The nurses smiled at them sweetly.
"Don't be naive. Do you believe that if you became a family member, the nurse would immediately kick you out of the hospital? This is a random instance with separate spaces—would you dare to go out?" another female player said in a low voice.
"We understand." Zong Lanzhi looked at the long-haired nurse again. "So now, should we go to our rooms or receive treatment?"
The long-haired nurse said, "We'll assign your rooms shortly. Your conditions need to be diagnosed by a doctor before being recorded, so for now, you'll all stay in Building One. If your condition is serious, you'll be transferred to Building Three."
Building Three was the one completely sealed with metal. Just standing outside looking at it was suffocating, let alone thinking about staying inside.
Although they couldn't tour the hospital, there was a floor plan next to the outpatient building, allowing everyone to intuitively understand the hospital's layout.
First, the outpatient building and the adjacent Building One were certainly relatively safe places. These two buildings only had iron doors added at the corridor and hall entrances.
Next was Building Two, which had more iron doors, with restrictions at every stairwell and elevator access on each floor.
After that came the laboratory building and the sanatorium.
Outside the laboratory building, it was written "Non-medical personnel are not permitted to enter," clearly indicating it was not a good place.
The sanatorium looked spacious and bright, with a very warm arrangement, but it was close to the laboratory building and Building Three. These two places themselves had a gloomy aura. No matter how bright and spacious the sanatorium was, it wouldn't feel comfortable. Instead, this comfort seemed abnormal everywhere and should be treated with more caution.
The buildings beyond even had specially made doors, imposing even more restrictions on players.
The farthest building was the office building, where the director most likely lived.
Although the director hadn't appeared, for Zong Lanzhi and the others, the most important thing now was to understand the hospital's various conditions.
At the very least, solving the mystery of the night-eating monster and getting out of the morgue would require them to leave their rooms and explore other buildings.
Among the three clearance tasks, the first two had clues to follow, but the third had a very broad scope.
Zong Lanzhi had already focused the clearance effort on the first two tasks.
The hospital floor plan didn't mark the location of the morgue, but such places were usually built underground, so after nightfall, they would need to come out and search every building.
"Today is our first day of admission. The doctor hasn't determined our conditions yet. Perhaps some of us have very mild conditions and don't need hospitalization at all." He said to the long-haired nurse, "Can we not lock the doors tonight?"
The nurse smiled again. "You're staying in Building One—why would the doors be locked? You can move freely. It's just that the main gate will be closed at night, so you can't be on the lawn."
"But it's best not to walk around outside at night."
She hinted meaningfully. Zong Lanzhi smiled but didn't take the bait. The instance introduction had already made it very clear that there was a night-eating monster. He had no need to hear more descriptions from the nurse to deepen that impression.
The nurse clearly didn't want to talk to them much either. After checking with her colleague, she led them to Building One.
As they passed through a tree-lined path, another player from Xiao Yue's side suddenly spoke up. "Don't you think... these nurses... don't really look like nurses..."
Xiao Yue's head was already aching, and she immediately glared at him.
The person quickly explained, "Have you ever seen a hospital where nurses dress so sexy? They don't look like proper nurses—they look like they're filming adult movies... And this is a mental hospital."
"Maybe some people only have one type of nurse in their minds," Xiao Yue said irritably.
The person paused and immediately realized.
If their words and actions could affect the situation inside the instance, then the root cause of so many flashy nurses might actually be themselves.
"I guess that's a good thing," he couldn't help saying. "Thinking about some random stuff is better than thinking about other things."
"Stop!" Xiao Yue immediately called everyone to a halt and warned, "Don't let your imagination run wild. This is an instance. It won't be easy to clear just because a few people have simple minds!"
To avoid causing more trouble, she didn't dare say what situations might arise. In stories, beauties could turn into female ghosts—who knew what the nurses in this mental hospital might become?
The group quickly composed themselves.
They were assigned rooms. Because there were many of them, they were scattered across almost every floor of Building One, which disrupted their plan to stay together. Some rooms that had been empty just a second ago suddenly had patients with vacant stares or who were shouting loudly. Some would even suddenly rush out of their rooms and jump at people, making obscene gestures.
This displeased the leading nurse. She raised her hand, and the security guards following behind immediately pinned the person to the ground. After two injections, the person was dragged back to the room like a dead dog, while the long-haired nurse recorded in her notebook, "Room 203, Bed 4: Delusional symptoms worsening. Increase female hormones by 5% and sedatives by 2% in three daily meals. If no improvement in two days, transfer to Building Three."
The patients causing a commotion inside and outside the rooms immediately sat back on their beds obediently upon hearing "Building Three," as if it were some kind of signal.
