# Chapter 2900: Slaughter Half

A flash of humiliation crossed the young man's face, but in the end, he simply closed his eyes and didn't speak again.

The bearded man wiped his hand on the young man's face, then turned back to the people of Pengfei City and said, "Don't think I'm out of the loop. That's a Temporal Evolver young master. Fighting him? I don't want to lose my life for no reason."

"Those Twelve Main City people put on a righteous front, but they're all lowlifes underneath. They've done plenty of bad things. Now they put on a few fancy clothes and suddenly they're good people?"

"The Twelve Main Cities haven't started a war, which means they've probably negotiated terms. Conditions tempting enough to move those people—I'd bet they're generous. We won't ask for much, just the same deal as the Twelve Main Cities..."

Before he could finish, his eyes fixed on a corner of the restaurant. His pupils suddenly dilated, but before he could make any reaction, his body froze in place. The shock and anger on his face gradually collapsed as wrinkles appeared on his skin.

The same fate befell the other nine Cannibal Players present.

Watching their companions, who had been eating and drinking with them moments ago, become withered and aged in just a few breaths, the two remaining Resolution Council members' knees went weak and they dropped to the ground.

"Don't kill me! I'll do whatever you say!"

Ten corpses shattered across the tables and floor. The crisp sound of breaking bones sent chills down the spines of those still alive.

The Pengfei City people lowered their heads, trying to minimize their presence, while the young man mustered his courage and said, "They've set up a trap at the sports stadium to ambush you!"

The two remaining men glared at the young man but dared not say anything.

After a moment, Xu Huo, who had been standing against the wall, finally spoke. "Have the remaining four cities already united?"

"Only Xingcheng, Liaocheng, and Lincheng. Huicheng is currently fighting over territory with Pengfei City's players." The young man continued, "An hour ago, they'd already discussed their strategy. They planned to trap you in a Container Item first. If that failed, they'd settle for negotiating with you. I overheard that Xingcheng's condition was to demand one of the main cities be given up. I don't know about the other two cities' conditions."

"What Container Item were they planning to use?" Xu Huo asked, but not to the young man—he was looking at the two kneeling on the ground.

"We don't know either. Only the boss knew, and you just killed him..." the two answered with lowered eyes.

"Forget it," Xu Huo said, showing no interest in pursuing the matter further. After a pause, he added, "Even the Twelve Main Cities didn't haggle, but their appetite is quite big."

"Still, I've never much liked dealing with Cannibal Players."

His gaze swept over the few people in the restaurant before settling on the young man. "You should know how many Cannibal Players are in Xingcheng."

The young man was visibly excited. "At least a third of the players living in Xingcheng have eaten people. Some of them aren't even Cannibal Players—they just kill for fun. That's the only way to get into Xingcheng's upper ranks."

"Where do most of them gather?" Xu Huo asked again.

The young man immediately projected a map of the city. "Besides the Resolution Council building, there are the commercial streets near Xingcheng's center, and some intersections responsible for guarding the city's entrances and exits."

"The worst are those on the commercial streets. They..."

Before he could finish, he was pulled into a teleportation channel along with Xu Huo. The next second, they appeared on a commercial street. Then Xu Huo vanished, only to reappear shortly after, accompanied by the sounds of buildings cracking and collapsing. He returned to the commercial street.

"Pick up any items you can salvage," Xu Huo said to the young man. "I'll come collect them later."

Before the young man could react, Xu Huo was gone again.

Filled with hope, the young man walked into the shopping mall ahead. When he saw that those who had been swaggering through Xingcheng, killing wantonly, had all become corpses, he first trembled with excitement, then burst into manic laughter. He laughed until tears and snot covered his face. Still laughing, he threw himself to the ground and began pulling items off the severed limbs and broken bodies. Some items broke when he picked them up, but that didn't matter—he collected the broken ones too.

When his pockets couldn't hold any more, he took off his jacket to wrap them. When the jacket was full, he found several large bags. He stuffed items of all sizes into several pouches, then dragged them up floor by floor, picking up more as he went...

Before he could finish collecting, Xu Huo returned.

The young man was kneeling on the ground, pulling rings off a corpse. Seeing the legs appear before him, he immediately pushed the pouches forward. "I haven't taken a single one."

Xu Huo said nothing, simply storing the pouches into his luggage compartment.

"Are there any players from District 031 still in Xingcheng?" he asked.

"Almost none. The players who tried to sneak in to rescue people before were eventually found and killed." The young man's tears hadn't dried yet. "Now there are only ordinary people being kept like livestock."

Xu Huo nodded. "I'll send you all to Baiyu City."

The young man was naturally grateful and immediately led the way to find the remaining survivors.

Compared to a medium-sized city, the number of ordinary people still alive in Xingcheng was pitifully small. Xu Huo loaded them into a Container Item, made a trip back to Baiyu City, dropped them off, and immediately headed to Liaocheng.

With Xingcheng's fate as a warning, the players of Liaocheng and Lincheng were much more cooperative. They came out to greet Xu Huo as soon as he arrived, expressing their willingness to cooperate with his clearance and making no demands.

When the news reached the Allied Forces and the Twelve Main Cities, it was equally shocking.

"City slaughter? He really slaughtered a city?" Mr. Hu could barely hide his astonishment.

"He killed nearly half the players," Mei Zheng corrected, his expression equally grim.

"Killing half—what's the difference between that and slaughtering a city?" The newly elected representative of Baojian City was the female player who had spoken with Xu Huo earlier. Her name was Hen Yu, and she harbored obvious hostility toward Xu Huo.

"Don't those people in Xingcheng deserve to die?" Lou Fei was pleased with the outcome. "Those bastards were short on supplies and constantly raiding everywhere. People near King's City were always going missing. Who else could have done those things?"

She glanced at Mei Zheng as she spoke. "This was within your expectations, wasn't it?"

From his brief encounter with Xu Huo and the way he handled the Allied Forces and Xingcheng, one could see he was someone who could be reasoned with. People who could be reasoned with were usually easy to communicate with—just discuss things properly when there were disagreements.

But Mei Zheng hadn't expected Xu Huo to have the strength to kill half of Xingcheng's players in such a short time. Even as a Temporal Evolver with limited coverage range, it shouldn't have been this easy.

He definitely had more trump cards he hadn't revealed!

"We're not sitting here to marvel at how strong or ruthless he is," said another Archon from the Twelve Main Cities, who had also arrived at Crown City. They were all gathered in one room, and the focus of their discussion was certainly not election preparations.

The speaker was a middle-aged woman with striking features. "I'll be direct. Do you want to leave or not?"
