# Chapter 2841: Brother, Save Me!
When their gazes met, both sides' expressions shifted subtly. Anyone with half a brain could tell that the Hundred Forest Society was probably waiting for the players hired by Purple Life Research Institute to clear the path ahead. Unexpectedly, when they came in, the vast majority of people were still alive and well.
The hired players, on the other hand, were waiting to watch the show. After all, during the exploration of the research institute, they might also encounter attacks. As long as they weren't the ones being attacked, the players naturally wanted as many cases as possible.
However, the Hundred Forest Society players stopped in the central courtyard, only sending a few robots carrying instruments to sweep the building, as if they were completely unconcerned about missing clues.
"Aren't you going in to take a look?" A tall, burly white-haired player tilted his chin toward the Hundred Forest Society side. "Instances are unpredictable. Just using instruments to scan might not necessarily find useful clues."
The Hundred Forest Society players were vaguely divided into two teams, each led by a man and a woman. The one who answered was a woman wearing silver armor. Her smile was very amiable. "Since the instance has schedule requirements, the risks during the day should be very low, and it's harder to grasp the patterns. Besides, there's no mandatory requirement, so there's no need to waste time on this."
Regardless of whether what she said was true or false, the Hundred Forest Society players indeed had no intention of going in to inspect.
Not long after, the robots they had sent out returned, but the discussion venue shifted to the building on the east side.
"What earth-shattering clues could they have, afraid we might hear them?" The tall, burly white-haired man said with some mockery.
"Once we're in, we're competitors," the purple-haired man said.
The instance didn't divide factions, but the second clearance task essentially assigned factions to the players. No matter how dangerous the night was, there would definitely be people who hadn't found the "small compartment" or didn't actively enter the "small compartment." This divided them into two factions—at least this clearance task was very clear.
Clear was one thing, but accomplishing it was as difficult as reaching the sky. Kill all the players who had entered the "small compartment" within a single day?
What a joke. Everyone here was an A-class player, and the longer the instance lasted, the more players would have entered the "small compartment." Plus, with spatial barriers, how could anyone possibly kill everyone who had entered the "small compartment"?
Four of the instance's five rules were explicitly related to the "small compartment," but for now, at least before eight o'clock, it was impossible to confirm whether the so-called "small compartment" referred to the compartments in the underground laboratory or some other space.
Since it had been confirmed as a spatial-type instance, even the players who weren't Super Evolvers were those with high evolution rates and sensitivity to power fluctuations. Exploring a new instance was all about seeking fortune amidst danger. Unfortunately, they hadn't gained any benefits after entering. Could it be that the people ahead had taken all the naturally spawned items?
Everyone had different thoughts, but they unanimously hoped that multiple overlapping spaces truly existed here. At least then they wouldn't leave empty-handed.
Xu Huo had the same idea.
He had found this place based on clues about the Perfect Potion that flew out of the Stellar Pharmaceuticals factory. If it was a trap, that was one thing, but if the Perfect Potion really existed and someone else had taken it, it would be very difficult to retrieve.
Just as the Purple Life Research Institute group was considering whether to go down to the basement again, a young player from the Hundred Forest Society came over and politely asked, "Are there any Spatial Evolvers among you?"
"Our team leader wants to invite Spatial Evolvers to join the core strategy team. Whatever Purple Life Research Institute is paying you, we'll double it, and any items found will be split equally."
"It's not about the payment," said the Red Gem Necklace player. "Our team members complement each other. Everyone was a stranger before coming here, so it's fair. If we go to your side, that might not be the case."
Members of player organizations might not be absolutely familiar with each other, but in critical moments, they would definitely unite against outsiders. Believing their nonsense about splitting all items equally would mean putting one's life in their hands.
Wang Xin also said to Xu Huo, "I'm not stopping you, but this district's player organization has a long history of bad behavior."
The more peaceful the district, the fiercer the conflicts in closed instances.
Xu Huo nodded. "With my level of evolution, others probably wouldn't be interested anyway."
Yue Yan'er patted his shoulder. "Don't worry, you're a newcomer. We'll definitely look out for you."
"Thank you," Xu Huo said with a reserved smile.
However, after the young player's persuasion, three Super Evolvers still left.
The Purple Life Research Institute team was broken up. Some people were very dissatisfied, but in the end, they only grumbled a few complaints, and the three teams merged into two.
This was just a minor episode that didn't waste much time. Just when everyone thought they would have to wait until nightfall, a sudden burst of power fluctuation erupted from the central building of the research institute. The anomaly in spatial power caught the attention of at least half the players—there was no helping it, the fluctuation was too intense.
Over a dozen players immediately moved toward the central courtyard building, regardless of the danger, scrambling to go down to the basement.
"What is it?" Yue Yan'er immediately turned back to ask Xu Huo.
"Spatial fluctuation. It might be the interaction of different spaces," Xu Huo answered vaguely, but in reality, he knew that two players had suddenly appeared in the basement.
Just as he finished speaking, two figures quickly charged out from the central courtyard, followed by all kinds of killing items. The two moved and dodged, either using the terrain and buildings or using the players already in the central courtyard to avoid these items.
"Hand over the thing!" The Red Gem Necklace player who had chased them out shouted loudly. Three water-drop-shaped hidden weapons shot at high speed toward the black-haired woman among the two.
The black-haired woman's barrier was continuously broken. As she moved, she scanned the surroundings and finally fixed her gaze on the newly scattered Purple Life Research Institute players. After selecting her target, she tried to divert the trouble to shake off the hidden weapons. But just as she rushed toward Wang Xin and the others, she unexpectedly caught sight of Xu Huo, who was blocked behind him and Yue Yan'er.
The moment their eyes met, she immediately changed direction and headed toward the purple-haired man.
The three hidden weapons were eventually blocked by the purple-haired man. The Purple Life Research Institute players were also angered. Two players opened barriers to block the black-haired woman and the other chaotic blonde man outside, and said to the dozen or so who had chased them out: "Once is enough, twice is too much, and three times is unacceptable!"
Among the dozen or so who had entered the basement, besides the Red Gem Necklace player, the tall, burly white-haired man, and two middle-aged men, the rest were from the Hundred Forest Society, including the three Super Evolvers.
Hearing the warning from the Purple Life Research Institute side, the others didn't dare to use items and instruments recklessly anymore. Half of them stopped, while the remaining split up to pursue the two.
Facing multiple opponents, plus interference from other players, the two who had come out were no match. The blonde man probably got caught and was subdued not long after. The black-haired woman held out for a while, but outnumbered, after hesitating for a moment, she directly rushed toward Xu Huo:
"Brother, save me!"
