Chapter 2776: The Act

But the little girl was only willing to lead them to her own door, because she was rubbing her eyes and wanted to go back to sleep.
The two players certainly weren't willing to let her go, so they simply picked her up and carried her toward the room she had mentioned.
The little girl was gagged and couldn't make a sound. When the two entered the room she had pointed out and found nothing, the woman's expression changed, and she directly flung the girl to the ground.
The little girl was thrown so hard she couldn't get up for a moment. The woman just stared coldly at her. "Trying to mess with us!"
The little girl pouted, about to cry, but the man leaned in close to her face. "Don't cry, or I'll cut off your nose, you little freak."
The girl was about to burst into tears, but at that moment, a voice cut in. "Two adults bullying a child? She's not even ten years old. You two have no shame?"
The two turned around. Standing at the door was a woman they had never seen before.
"Mind your own business. We're each looking for our own things. No interference," the man said.
"That won't do. I'm a warm-hearted person, and I hate injustice. I can't stand seeing someone bully a child like this." The woman flicked the long hair over her chest and beckoned to the little girl. "Little sister, come over to big sister."
The little girl stared straight at her. "Auntie, your chest is really big."
This sudden remark stunned all three players. The long-haired woman squinted her eyes, scrutinizing the child on the ground.
"Now you see," the man said, also glancing at the woman's chest. "No one living here is normal."
"Even if she's not normal, she's still a child." The long-haired woman didn't take offense. Instead, she said to the other woman, "Just knock her out. Dealing with a child isn't that hard. Why make it so ugly?"
The woman's sympathy seemed to flicker and fade. The little girl sat on the ground, looking up at the three tall adults in front of her, shrinking back in fear.
"Taking her along is the only way to move freely." The man reached out and lifted the girl, intending to take her along to find the "Bone Relic."
But at that moment, the twins ran out of the room and threw several water balls into the room. The splashing liquid carried a heavy stench. The intense physiological stimulus made the three instinctively reach for their items. The man also dropped the girl, but the moment he let go, the entire room plunged into darkness. When the light came back on, only the little girl remained in the room.
"Haha! Serves you right!" The twins clapped their hands in delight. When they were done, they rushed back into the room, hung the little girl up, and used her as a target, throwing the room's decorations at her.
The little girl was hit and cried bitterly. Bruises quickly appeared on her face, and blood even trickled from the corner of her mouth. After a while, her voice grew weak, but this time, no one came to rescue her.
The twins soon lost interest, shrugged, and left, leaving the hanging little girl alone in the room.
The three players had vanished from the estate, and the little girl wasn't discovered until dawn, when a maid came up to clean.
A doctor came and went twice. The little girl lay in bed resting. Xiao Xiao and Tian Tian both came to see her—one fed her, the other kept her company. The sick girl was sleeping. That woman had gotten up, but when she passed the door, she didn't even glance inside.
The little girl didn't mention the previous day's ordeal, but the maids all assumed it was the twins' doing, though no one dared to intervene.
The little girl didn't talk much, but after taking her medicine, she asked a maid a question. "Are all players bad people?"
"There are both good and bad people." The maid wiped her hands. "Go to sleep now. When you wake up, it won't hurt anymore."
The little girl nodded and obediently closed her eyes.
The atmosphere downstairs wasn't as peaceful. Xiao Xiao, who had been gentle and polite in front of the maids, deliberately provoked the twins, with Tian Tian chiming in from the side. The woman sitting at the table eating breakfast was lost in her own world, completely ignoring everything happening around the table.
The twins, of course, weren't easy to mess with. They immediately smashed the dining table. The maids had no choice but to step in and break up the fight.
Although Xiao Xiao and Tian Tian couldn't beat the twins, during the scuffle, the twins accidentally fell into the broken glass, and one of them had an eye pierced.
The maids were terrified. They quickly activated the medical robot for emergency treatment and then sent the medical robot along with them to the hospital.
The twins were gone. Xiao Xiao and Tian Tian "guiltily" went back upstairs.
As for the woman believed to be the Archon's lover, she went to the kitchen herself to get some food and joked around with the others as if nothing had happened, which, of course, made some people despise her.
The butler informed the Archon about what had happened at the estate, but the response was only a perfunctory show of concern. After confirming that the little girl was fine and the twins had been sent to the hospital, the Archon said he would send someone to keep an eye on things.
This kind of incident was clearly not the first time. Whether it was the child getting hurt or the Archon's indifferent attitude, the maids didn't discuss it much. Soon, they went back to their own business.
On the other hand, the woman who had been smiling earlier drank two bottles of wine in her room and then covered her face and cried. She stared at herself in the mirror and asked, "When will this kind of life end?"
Xu Huo hadn't left this place. Among the seven guests in the estate, this woman was probably the most normal. She was also the one who had been there the shortest time. Before her, other women had lived there, but they were always replaced after a while.
During the day, the estate was relatively normal. Xu Huo stayed in the little girl's room for a while before leaving and returning to the hotel where Xin Qin was staying.
He had come to ask Xin Qin about the authenticity of the "Bone Relic."
Xin Qin carefully examined the holographic recording he had taken. "This should be real."
"The Bone Relic wasn't created long ago, and it was bought by someone before it could be displayed at any major exhibition. A counterfeit couldn't be this realistic. Besides, we have a habit of adding special anti-counterfeiting marks to our works, and each mark is randomly chosen."
She pointed to the ear cavity of the "Bone Relic." "These pinhole details inside can be pieced together to form a human face. Even if someone managed to replicate these pinholes, they wouldn't realize that the patterns in both ears are interconnected."
"Where did you find it?" she pressed.
"One of the Archon's properties," Xu Huo said. "It's still hard to say if it's related to Gu Hui Feng."
In fact, after entering the estate, he knew that whether it was the star's disappearance ten years ago or the recent mass disappearance of NS organisms, it was all connected to the people living in the estate. And this most likely had nothing to do with any political events or high-stakes interests. It was all driven by personal desires.
After dark, Xu Huo returned to the estate.
Tonight was even livelier than last night. Five players had arrived, but their luck was worse than those from the previous day. They soon got lost and disappeared in the estate, not even getting to see the revenge and resistance acts put on by the children.
Then, in the middle of the night, the little girl, who had already recovered, walked out of her room. She wasn't holding her doll this time. Instead, she carried a small lamp and went to a sealed room on the fourth floor, using an ornament from her skirt to unlock the door.
