Chapter 2774: A Bunch of Freaks

Xu Huo quickly got the clues he wanted. Although Black Snake wasn't directly involved in the NS creature kidnapping case, he was the one who cleaned up the traces in the company afterward. He was also responsible for creating some fake scenes to dispose of some of the bodies. The person he liaised with was a security officer from the city government.

Black Snake didn't know why NS creatures were being dealt with, but based on his years of experience working for the government, there was probably only one incident per year that this person personally handled.

This year it was NS creatures, last year it was the Marine Park, the year before that it was the ocean liner… This could be traced back more than a decade, and the disappearance of stars from the Star-Making Company ten years ago was also among them.

Black Snake and his team were generally responsible for cleanup and didn't ask too many questions. But the disposal site for the star disappearance case ten years ago was a manor, and that manor was the property of the local Grand Archon.

This also aligned with the Enforcement Team's perfunctory investigation and the Archon's secretary meddling in the patent, after all, it was the Grand Archon, the highest political figure in this city.

After questioning, Xu Huo injected Black Snake with a dose of poison to ensure he wouldn't wake up for a short time, then went to the vicinity of the manor based on the address.

This was a manor occupying a large expanse of mountain forest. There was no ground transportation leading out from the manor. The natural mountain forest separated the manor from the outside. Occasionally, he could see aircraft entering and exiting. It seemed the manor was about to host some event, as the servants were busy setting up decorations.

Because the distance was too great, Xu Huo only observed from the periphery without rashly approaching. He waited until someone came out to shop before finding an opportunity to ask about the situation inside the manor.

The manor did belong to the Archon, but the Archon usually didn't stay there. He had just come a few days ago and probably wouldn't be back for a short while. Normally, his relatives lived there, and it was sometimes used to receive guests.

The reason for decorating the manor was that the Archon felt it lacked a sense of life. He had even listed several themes for them to follow. The latest theme was hide-and-seek. Besides the decorative trimmings, they had also custom-ordered some cabinets with hidden compartments or decorative items.

No one would turn a place they didn't often live in into such a state just for a sense of life, but the servants just followed the master's orders without asking questions.

As for the Archon's relatives, there were seven in total. These seven people usually stayed in the manor and rarely went out. The oldest was just over thirty. Among the servants, there was a rumor that she was the Archon's lover, because she usually acted frivolously, dressed inappropriately, and was often drunk. The servants thought she was drowning her sorrows in alcohol because she was neglected.

Then there was a pair of twins, twenty-five years old. Both brothers had bad tempers and liked to abuse small animals. Sometimes they would even scare the servants. However, if anyone complained to the Archon, they would be quickly fired, so the servants didn't like them much.

The remaining four were eighteen, sixteen, ten, and eight years old. The oldest and the youngest were girls, and the two in the middle were boys. The eighteen-year-old girl had a mental illness. She usually didn't leave her room much and didn't talk, but when she had an episode, she would run out of her room screaming and shouting.

The sixteen-year-old and ten-year-old boys were quite likable. The older one had a pleasant way of speaking and got along well with everyone. The younger one was more shy but polite, and would actively help with chores and take care of the youngest child.

The eight-year-old girl also didn't like interacting with people. She would hide in her room and play with her toys. She only ate when the ten-year-old boy brought her food. Sometimes she would hide somewhere so others couldn't find her. When the servants were running around in a panic, only the little boy who was close to her could find her.

Among these people, apart from the twins, the others didn't have particularly similar physical features, making it unlikely they were blood relatives. As for their relationship with the Archon and why they lived in the manor long-term, it was unknown.

Xu Huo also asked if the manor had invited many stars for a birthday party ten years ago. The servant said she didn't know, as she had only worked there for three years, which was considered a long time. From what she said, many people had been fired because they offended the twins.

Recently, the only special thing in the manor was the addition of a sculpture. Although the manor regularly purchased expensive items, a piece like "Bone Relic" that could reach a value of 980 million was still very rare.

After understanding the basic situation, Xu Huo waited until nightfall and then silently entered the manor.

There were no players guarding the manor inside or out. Although some instruments were set up, they were mostly in a dormant state. He entered the manor without any hindrance, and that piece by Gu Huifeng was casually placed in a lounge on the second floor, with about the same prominence as other decorations, not even attracting as much attention as the vase of flowers on the table.

Unsure if this was the real one, Xu Huo decided to look around the manor first to see if he could find any trace of Gu Huifeng.

As he walked up to the third floor, the twin brothers quietly opened their room and came out. Each of them was holding several disemboweled little birds. As they walked down the corridor, they threw one into each room they opened.

The first room didn't open. Inside the second room was the sick girl. As soon as the bird was thrown in, she lost control and started screaming. Just as she was about to run out, the twins locked the door, listening to her scratching and clawing inside with great satisfaction.

The person who came out of the second room was the sixteen-year-old boy. He looked helplessly at the twins, "Can you guys stop being so boring? How many times have you pulled this trick? Does it have any other meaning besides creating more work for the aunties and uncles?"

The twins exchanged a glance, said nothing, and simultaneously moved to twist the boy's arm. At that moment, the ten-year-old boy from the next room came out. He rushed over and slapped at them, "Don't you dare bully Brother Xiaoxiao!"

The twins kicked him over, stomped hard on his stomach, and laughed heartily.

"Bad guys!" The youngest girl, half-hidden behind her door, shouted at them.

The twins exchanged another look. One of them quickly walked over, dragged her out, and threw her into the corridor. He snatched her doll, took out a small knife he carried, and cut off the doll's limbs, saying, "Little mute, get lost, or your arms and legs will be cut off too!"

The girl pursed her lips, tears streaming down her face. The older boy, Xiaoxiao, and the younger boy, Tiantian, quickly ran over, pushed the twins away, pulled her up, and promised to give her a new doll.

"Bang!" The sick girl's door was smashed open. She ran out screaming, and upon seeing the people in the corridor, she shouted "Monster!" and ran straight into Xiaoxiao's room opposite. Not only did she close the door herself, but she also moved things to block it.

These commotions finally got a reaction from the woman in the next room. She leaned against her doorframe in a thin, sheer silk nightgown, not hiding her voluptuous figure even in front of the children. "A bunch of freaks, making a racket in the middle of the night. If you don't want to live, climb upstairs and jump off. You're all going to die sooner or later anyway!"
