Chapter 2731: Explanation
The 011 Zone players present knew full well that those capable of killing an A-rank player wouldn’t necessarily wade into muddy waters for an evolution notebook, while those eager to stir things up were mostly mediocre individuals. But Xu Huo’s chips were too abundant. Even if few realized he was a triple-aspect evolver for the time being, he could easily muddy the waters—no single person, no zone, not even a wormhole point, would refuse such a friend!
Talent… At this moment, the 011 Zone players felt not only shock and disappointment but also a sword hanging over their heads. A large portion of Super Evolvers in the game made little progress over years, decades, or even their entire lives. No matter how they evolved, they remained manageable and containable. But when a Super Evolver reached a level where they could wield power rivaling top-tier items or instruments, they became the most likely candidates to become Super Players.
Huahan Werner’s example was right before their eyes.
If Xu Huo couldn’t kill them today, in the future, he might not even need to lift a finger to settle old scores!
“Kill him…” A gritted whisper came from some corner, and a few players actually lost their heads and charged out of the formation. But before they could get close, they were frozen mid-step by time power, turning white-haired in an instant.
Then, with this group of A-rank players and Ashis as the boundary, the entire city began to freeze from the inside out—time had stopped.
Xu Huo stood up solemnly and looked at Huahan Werner moving through the frozen time.
This pillar of 011 Zone seemed satisfied with his performance, smiling and nodding. “Your progress exceeds my expectations.”
Xu Huo relaxed a little. “Long time no see, Old Sir. Are you still in good health?”
“I can still live a few more years. Before I die, I’ll definitely invite you to my funeral.” Huahan laughed heartily, raising his hand slightly in the air. The dozens of A-rank players who had come with Ashis aged and died within seconds.
But he didn’t kill Ashis, and he explained why. “A talented person can decide a family’s future fate. A talented but arrogant person can also decide a family’s future fate. His ending is the Vilna Family’s ending.”
Xu Huo smiled faintly. “The future is hard to say.”
Huahan, however, said, “Your separation from the Vilna Family is already part of that future.”
Xu Huo didn’t continue this topic. Instead, he pointed at Karg Helta below the tower. “You shouldn’t have any objections if I deal with him, right?”
“You can deal with his entire family as well.” Huahan made the promise.
This caught Xu Huo off guard. After all, Huahan had previously only seemed to be giving advice to a junior, without any direct intention. But now, whether it was disposing of these A-rank players or handing over the Helta family to him, it felt like an early investment in 011 Zone.
“Last time you left, I said I’d teach you something good. Come with me now.” Huahan said.
The sealing instruments failed, and Xu Huo retrieved the Time Tower before following him.
Once their figures disappeared, the base city was released from frozen time. Ashis, the other nobles who had arrived, and the black-and-white epaulets all stood in silent fear, staring at the scattered, aged corpses on the ground.
Xu Huo followed Huahan to his home in Xiu City.
He had been here before. Upon entering, he saw the same old butler, who brewed tea, brought it over, complained a bit about the Vilna Family causing trouble, and then left.
Only after drinking his tea did Huahan briefly explain why such a major disagreement had arisen within the Vilna Family.
Originally, Xu Huo’s lack of cooperation had already displeased some Vilna elders. Not only did he refuse to marry into the family, but his unwillingness to marry a Vilna girl was seen as a signal—a sign that the Vilna Family could be abandoned at any time in the future.
The Vilna Family wasn’t so strong that it was leagues above other major nobles; it mainly relied on Huahan to hold things together. Those worried about the family slipping from first to second place grew anxious. They began scouting better candidates while trying to win Xu Huo over.
A new candidate was found, seemingly starting from the same baseline as Xu Huo—both had just begun time evolution. Regardless of quality, a newcomer was a better choice, since Huahan wouldn’t die anytime soon.
But Xu Huo was a long-term resident of 011 Zone, making the future unpredictable. It was hard to guarantee that after Huahan’s death, someone wouldn’t pull Xu Huo out to contend with the Vilna Family. Since he was a threat, it was better to eliminate him before he grew strong.
The Helta invitation was an act of underestimation. They thought sealing his ticket items and dealing with a B-rank player would be easy, without needing Vilna Family members to get involved and risk Huahan’s retaliation. But they never expected Xu Huo to have both strength and guts, killing everyone on sight.
A B-rank player challenging a behemoth like 011 Zone—anyone else probably wouldn’t even dare to think about it. Who would have guessed he would?
A smart person would use their displayed strength as leverage to negotiate with 011 Zone for maximum benefit. But to flip the table without considering the consequences—that was something no one in 011 Zone anticipated.
“They thought their chips were abundant enough to tempt anyone, so they believed even if they failed to kill me, there would still be room for negotiation.” Xu Huo said.
Huahan snorted. “Why not see what chips the Vilna Family is about to offer?”
Xu Huo smiled too. “I consider myself to have a bit of money.”
“They can offer you more than money. You’ve killed people and vented your anger. There’s no reason to refuse free benefits.” Huahan said. “Don’t be foolish. Hmm, you could even properly fix up that broken-down house of yours.”
Xu Huo raised an eyebrow. “Repairing Rose Castle is indeed quite expensive.”
“A single zone can do a lot.” Huahan set down his teacup. “Too bad you don’t want to stay here.”
“I have my own home too.” Xu Huo said. “I have to take care of my family first.”
“That’s only right.” Huahan added, “You’re still young. Even without 011 Zone’s help, your future is limitless.”
“Is that young man they found really a time-aspect evolver?” Xu Huo suddenly asked.
Huahan gave a meaningful smile. “Take a guess.”
Xu Huo said nothing. After all, it was 011 Zone’s business.
Seeing his lack of cooperation, Huahan looked disappointed, as if losing interest. After a moment, he said, “Rest today. Lessons start tomorrow.”
Xu Huo wasn’t in a hurry. He stood up and left the tea room.
“Young people these days really know how to keep their cool.” The old butler walked in. “But he is indeed very talented, surpassing you when you were young.”
Huahan leaned slightly against the chair, half-closed eyes flickering with a dim light. “A bunch of useless old fools. They want to scoop everything good into their own bowls. They’ve gotten too fat. Bleeding them a little is doing them a favor.”
