Chapter 2419: The Mayor's Wife Invites

"Sure, I can do that," Xu Huo replied casually.

Bai Kou turned around. "Are you serious?"

"Of course I'm serious." Xu Huo took a sip of tea, still finding it too sweet. Setting down the cup, he met her gaze. "I don't really need that stone anymore."

That Primordial Stone had already been made into an item, with only the function of stopping time for a certain period. Calling it time-stopping was really just recording events that happened within a set timeframe, without affecting reality. If placed in a suitable Instance, it could have an inducing effect, but in actual combat, there was little room to use it.

This stone was "Angel's Eyes," and it was almost certainly a component part of the Field Battle Angel. The "Fangs" he had obtained possessed Space Power, while the "Eyes" contained Time Power. Just looking at these two items showed they were extraordinary, making one imagine how powerful the true Battle Angel would be. Therefore, this Primordial Stone could not be destroyed.

One "Fang" had limited use, but sixteen "Fangs" could become a tool for freely crossing zones. One "Eye" had limited use, but perhaps by gathering more eyes, "Angel's Eyes" could unleash its true potential.

Bai Kou was silent for two seconds. "Without relying on items, you can also draw upon Time Power now?"

Xu Huo nodded. "So I can temporarily lend you the Primordial Stone, on the condition that you don't destroy it."

Bai Kou's expression was complicated. "No problem."

"Regarding Time Evolution," Xu Huo said, "our last practice was slightly off in direction."

Then he told her what Huahan Werner had informed him, his insights about the time state in Pumpkin City, and the feeling of clarity that had inexplicably allowed him to further control Time Power after coming out of the One-Third Game.

There weren't many successful cases of Time Evolution to begin with, and those who had truly achieved something like Huahan Werner were even rarer. So even though Bai Kou could come into contact with many powerful players, she still knew very little about Time Evolution.

Precisely because so few people had reached the later stages, she understood better how to maximize the effectiveness of Time Power in the initial stages of evolution.

But this didn't comfort Bai Kou. One thing was having the wrong direction, and another was talent.

"Keep the Primordial Stone with me. Take it back when you need it," she said. "I know the Xin family wants your help. I'll release the authorization for the robots to the Xin family, as a return favor."

"What kind of robots would make the Platinum Eye people flock to them?" Xu Huo asked.

"Just ordinary robots." Bai Kou smiled faintly. "But we've cracked one of the energy conversion technologies, greatly reducing the cost."

"That kind of energy conversion chip?" Xu Huo was slightly surprised. "You found it?"

"It took some effort to obtain it," Bai Kou said. "Many rare resources in the game are monopolized by the Star Group or the Game Government. You can imagine how precious this energy conversion technology is."

Xu Huo was thoughtful. "You're especially focused on weapon development."

So focused it was a bit abnormal. Besides still doing Instances, she seemed to be pouring all her energy into this.

"In this world, only two kinds of power can challenge the game," Bai Kou said. "One is players, and the other is weapons."

"Weapons are more important than players."

Xu Huo was silent. This was yet another view different from the Old Holy Sword Society.

"Have you ever thought about a world without games?" he suddenly asked.

Bai Kou glanced at him. "Of course I have. It must be a relatively peaceful evolutionary world."

Xu Huo's eyes flickered, and after a moment, he said, "You're right."

"It's rare that you've given me such a big gift." Bai Kou took a box out of the Luggage Compartment. "I'll give you one too."

"This is a disassemblable energy bomb that was successfully announced yesterday. Disassembled, it can be stored in the Luggage Compartment. Assembled, it can level a medium-sized city to the ground. It's the most lethal portable weapon available."

Xu Huo looked at the metal parts divided into over a dozen pieces inside the box, his gaze finally settling on a semi-transparent ore fragment engraved with complex patterns placed in the middle.

"Is this the energy conversion chip?"

"An improved version." Bai Kou patted "Angel's Eyes." "Unlike this one, it's single-use. It will automatically self-destruct after use."

Xu Huo closed the lid. "I wonder what kind of situation would require using a weapon of this power."

Such massive destructive power was completely unnecessary in ordinary player conflicts. Even if used, the chances of achieving the goal were very slim.

"If you don't like it, you can find a place to set it off like fireworks," Bai Kou said, raising an eyebrow at him.

"That's not it." Xu Huo put the box into his Luggage Compartment, then asked, "Has the Platinum Eye ever launched an external war?"

"The Platinum Eye only sells weapons; it doesn't do shady things." Bai Kou poured herself another cup of tea. "I won't keep you for dinner."

Xu Huo smiled and stood up to leave.

"Oh, by the way," Bai Kou added at that moment, "if the Mayor's Wife wants to talk to you, don't pay her any attention."

"Why would the Mayor's Wife want to talk to me?"

"Who knows what she's thinking. If you don't want to suffer a loss, it's best to ignore her." After saying this, Bai Kou leaned back in her chair and picked up her book again.

Sure enough, they were mother and daughter. No sooner had Xu Huo stepped out of the Mechanical Castle than a player came to "invite" him, saying the Mayor's Wife wanted to see him.

"It seems I have no choice but to go?" He looked at the several Enforcement Team players surrounding him.

"The lady wants to see you; it's your honor." One of them made a "please" gesture with a blank expression.

Xu Huo got on the aircraft and notified Bai Kou at the same time.

Mrs. Bai was waiting for him at a flower shop. Unlike her usual elaborate appearance in holographic projections, this charismatic woman was dressed in simple home clothes, selecting flowers.

"You're here," Mrs. Bai said with a warm smile, beckoning him over. "Come help me choose. I want to make a bouquet for Kou Kou. What color do you think is suitable?"

The table was already covered with many flowers, mostly pink and black. Xu Huo glanced at them, then casually picked a red rose from a nearby flower bucket.

Mrs. Bai showed a hint of confusion. "This? Isn't it too ordinary? Kou Kou is my daughter; she deserves something unique in the world."

Xu Huo put the flower back. "I have no talent in this area."

Mrs. Bai gave him a reproachful look. "You'll never win a girl's heart like that."

Xu Huo smiled but said nothing.

Mrs. Bai didn't really value his opinion either. She picked some more precious varieties and had him help arrange them while she did the arranging.

The rustling sounds of leaves and petals being stripped and falling filled the air. He did whatever she asked, without saying an extra word.

"Do you know why Kou Kou doesn't like talking to me?" Mrs. Bai looked at the gradually forming bouquet with an especially tender gaze.
