Chapter 2406: P6S Potion

Clearly, this balloon wasn’t that intelligent. It let out a series of incomprehensible laughs before deflating. Following that, a buckle popped out beside the step where Xu Huo was standing, with the words “Pull here” written on it.

With a cold laugh, Xu Huo did as instructed and pulled the buckle out. Then, from the spot where the balloon had floated out earlier, there came a clicking sound of a mechanism, and a box slowly rose up.

He walked over and opened the box. As expected, a burst of confetti first shot out, scattering all over his head. Not only that, the box automatically started playing a very rhythmic dance tune. Colorful little lights flickered, first shining all over his face, then collectively turning toward the interior of the box, where a syringe sealed in a transparent container was placed.

Xu Huo picked up the syringe. Beneath it was an instruction manual.

The first page read: “This is a poison.”

He flipped to the second page: “This is a P6S version Perfect Potion.”

The third page: “A person claiming to be Dr. Wu won a bet and stored this potion with me.”

“It could be real, or it could be fake.”

Ignoring the instruction manual entirely, Xu Huo opened the container and took out the green syringe inside. Of course, he couldn’t judge the authenticity of the Perfect Potion with the naked eye, but no one other than Dr. Wu knew he was here looking for the Food Guest, and this happened to be the P6S version potion he needed. The instruction manual left by Shi Shuai also matched Dr. Wu’s explanation, so the potion should be real.

The Fish Feast was merely one of the more likely locations he had selected from numerous target spots. Although he suspected Shi Shuai was the Food Guest, it was only based on intuition, without solid evidence. He hadn’t expected that just as he was about to give up, the potion would appear in this way, as if Shi Shuai had been waiting here specifically for him.

As for that video about the Fish Feast, the person filmed might not have been the real Food Guest; it could have been a fake Food Guest, or even the video itself could be fabricated, merely used as bait to fish for someone.

Pursuing the truth or falsehood of the video was no longer meaningful. Shi Shuai’s appearance at the Fish Feast and his successful handover of the Perfect Potion were enough to show his close relationship with Dr. Wu. It seemed that besides randomly storing some potions in different instances across various zones, Dr. Wu also entrusted them to trustworthy individuals.

It wasn’t easy to screen trustworthy people from the game, but this incident also revealed that Dr. Wu wasn’t completely isolated. It was just unknown whether there might be a group of perfectly evolved players within the game.

Having obtained the potion, Xu Huo’s mission for this trip was complete.

He put the potion away, turned around, and stepped into the spatial portal.

When he came out, he was still in the same spot as before. The Painting Woman and Lan Huaixie were both there. After the spatial entity in the room had briefly calmed down, the door they had entered through also appeared.

A space filled with spatial power and isolated from the inside and outside was indeed a good place to hide things. This also indicated that the person who established the Fish Feast truly couldn’t fully control their own territory.

“Let’s go.” Xu Huo smiled and turned back to say to the Painting Woman.

The space outside the room had already been reconstructed. The fan-shaped room was gone, replaced by constantly moving corridors, doors, and windows. As they went out, they happened to see two young people clinging to a window as it slid past them. Lan Huaixie quickly grabbed the two, also pulling the Painting Woman along, while the Painting Woman in turn brought Xu Huo along.

A string of people moved with the shifting space and soon encountered other scattered players. Seeing that the spatial changes were slowing down and the castle was stabilizing, everyone noticed that only a few people were missing. Most were still fine, having neither engaged in combat nor been attacked.

“Any gains?” Everyone was more concerned about this question.

Unfortunately, they had all been trapped in some narrow space, having seen nothing but corpses and bones, with nothing else to show for it.

“It’s good enough just to keep our lives,” the fat player said, wiping sweat from his forehead as he spoke to Lan Huaixie and the others. “Better leave quickly. This place is too dangerous.”

Lan Huaixie felt the same way. He nodded to the old man surnamed Ma. The others traveling with them had no objections, so the old man took out a teleportation item, opened a spatial passage, and let Lan Huaixie and the others go through first before he followed.

Xu Huo and the Painting Woman followed closely behind. But just as they stepped across, the passage suddenly disappeared. The fat player and another female player who had come over first couldn’t help but look at the old man surnamed Ma.

“The passage was sabotaged. Someone must have entered the small space,” the old man said with a frown. His keen instincts, honed from years of struggling in the game, immediately made him lead Lan Huaixie and the others toward the nearest room. Almost at the same time they opened the door, two spatial portals opened at the spot where they had just been standing, and a group of people wearing shark masks surged out.

“Run!” the fat player shouted, hurriedly following Lan Huaixie and the others into the room.

“Bang!” Xu Huo, who was at the back, closed the door and frowned as he asked, “What’s going on? Why are the people from the Fish Feast attacking players who entered the small space? Isn’t this exploration within the rules?”

“Someone must have gotten something good in the castle!” the fat player said. “They’re probably here to rob us. What else could it be?”

He skewed everyone’s thoughts. Several young disciples immediately began speculating about what good stuff might be in the castle. The old man surnamed Ma, however, looked doubtful, his gaze lingering on Xu Huo, the Painting Woman, and another female player.

“Being targeted by the Fish Feast isn’t a good thing. Hiding in a room is just a temporary measure. Better leave first,” he suggested.

Lan Huaixie nodded and extended another invitation to Xu Huo.

Having obtained the Perfect Potion, and with the Fish Feast players likely still searching for him everywhere, Xu Huo didn’t want to stay long either. He was also interested in visiting Zone 001, so he agreed to the invitation.

“You’re all leaving together?” the fat player quickly said. “Can you take me along? I want to get out too!”

As he had said, Lan Huaixie was as welcoming as possible to players from other zones visiting Zone 001. Without much hesitation, he agreed. There was also a female player who didn’t know who had drawn the pursuit, but staying alone here was certainly dangerous, so she also wanted to go along.

As for the player who had been in the room from the start and was subdued by the old man surnamed Ma at first sight, no one cared.

A spatial passage opened, and the group arrived safely in Zone 001.

Their landing point was a villa belonging to the Lan family. After coming out, Lan Huaixie invited Xu Huo and the others to sit down and had the servants prepare dinner.

“I usually stay here alone. No one generally comes to disturb us. You all can rest assured staying here. If you want to explore the Sentinel City, I can arrange a driver.”

The fat player looked around the room’s decor. “Your family is really rich.”

Lan Huaixie smiled without saying a word, sent the other young disciples out, and after a while, a few more players came to relieve the old man surnamed Ma.

After arranging everything, he sat down across from Xu Huo and asked, “It’s too late today. Tomorrow I can take you to visit my factory. We produce and develop energy weapon parts.”

“Energy weapons?” The other two in the room became interested. The fat player said, “To produce and develop weapons, you need connections. You must be doing business with the game companies, right?”

Lan Huaixie humbly replied, “Just trading a few small parts. It’s not a big business. The game world is so vast; Stellar Corporation can’t monopolize everything. There are always small items that need companies like ours to produce.”

Expected to resume normal updates around National Day. Is everyone going out to play for National Day?
