Chapter 2362: Entertainment at the Fish Feast

Activating prop effects from within the body is actually not uncommon. As props increase, and with the inconvenience of wearing some props, many players choose to embed important small props into their bodies, such as their palms or arms. This way, they can avoid having them easily removed or stolen by others' props, and they are also more convenient to use.

"Are you sure they came from a high-level wormhole point?" Xu Huo asked skeptically. "Don't tell me it's just a prop embedded in their body."

"Do you think I'm stupid?" The round-faced player put on a cautious expression and leaned in. "I saw it clearly. That person definitely didn't activate any prop."

Even props embedded in the body mostly require the player to activate them personally before they can be used, unless they are passive-type props, like Xu Huo's "Cat's Triple Life Loan," which automatically judges whether the player is in danger and activates when necessary.

"Ordinary passive defense props have limited activation times. That person, I saw, had absolutely no limit." The round-faced player said, "This is the kind of display rich people from high-level wormhole points like to put on. They implant a defense instrument in their body. On the surface, they look no different from ordinary people, but in reality, they are constantly under protection, unless they deactivate it themselves. Of course, there's an even more extreme method: directly creating props with very few restrictions and sewing them into the body. It's like a damn smart sensing system. They swagger around wherever they go."

Xu Huo ignored his complaints but wasn't very willing to pay for this information. "This news isn't very useful to me."

"How is it not useful? Wherever that kind of person appears is definitely the safest place. You just need to get a bit closer. Ordinary players generally won't dare to cause trouble for no reason." The round-faced player looked like he was doing Xu Huo a favor. "If I weren't short on cash, I wouldn't be selling this information to you!"

"So? Do you want to buy it or not?"

Xu Huo reluctantly handed over a few White Notes. The other party didn't mind and simply reported a floor and room number. "It seems like that person is a long-term resident of that room."

Xu Huo raised an eyebrow slightly. "Can you be a long-term resident in a Fish Feast room?"

"I wouldn't know about that. Anyway, I heard from others that he always comes out of the same room. Some even speculated whether he has some connection with the owner of the Fish Feast."

The round-faced player finished speaking, waved his hand, and left.

Today was Carnival Day. It wasn't time yet, but many players were already preparing for the upcoming three hours of revelry. More and more players were coming out of their rooms. Whether they were looking for a place to hide or searching for prey, the number of players lingering in the corridors had increased.

The venue of the Fish Feast also seemed to have undergone subtle changes. Some previously unremarkable places now showed faint fluctuations of power.

Many players noticed this, but not many actively approached those areas with power fluctuations. The players tacitly kept silent, not revealing information about these places to newcomers.

So-called Easter eggs might really exist, but it's unlikely that so many places are all Easter eggs. More likely, most are traps.

"Is there still a draw tonight?" Xu Huo stopped a waiter.

"There is no draw on Carnival Day. By default, the mask pattern selected in the previous day's draw is used as the main target for the hunt." The waiter answered respectfully and then left.

Of course, this was a big problem for the players who were drawn the day before Carnival. But after yesterday, how many of those drawn were still alive? There weren't that many Mermaid masks to begin with.

By today, those who couldn't survive should be dead. Those still alive probably have already changed their masks.

At this moment, the atmosphere was already starting to tense up. The eyes behind every mask were blatantly revealing the word "excitement." Passing by these people, the oppressive pressure was almost like tangible blades.

Especially since Xu Huo was accompanied by the Painting Woman. Many unfriendly gazes were mixed with other things.

"They're so annoying." The Painting Woman simply turned on the sound of her communicator and said directly to Xu Huo, "Staring at me is driving me crazy. I want to gouge out their eyes."

They had just entered an open entertainment room. Players gathered here were playing cards, playing ball. Hearing this, at least half of them looked up. It wasn't that they really needed to see to confirm their identities and appearances, but to express their attitude.

The "targeted" Painting Woman didn't care at all and asked Xu Huo again, "Dig them out now or dig them out tonight?"

Xu Huo quickly stepped forward and covered her mouth, saying coldly, "Say a few less words. Don't cause trouble."

After speaking, he looked around warily, then pulled her and quickly left.

This was just a small incident. Some saw it as a newcomer not knowing their place, while others saw it as an opportunity for profit. At least Xu Huo didn't seem that steady. Although he was wearing the Giant Eye Fish mask, it didn't mean he had really killed that many people. He might have just picked up leftovers.

Some continued their entertainment, while others quietly followed behind them.

After Xu Huo left with the Painting Woman, they didn't take the elevator but quickly headed for the stairs.

The three players who followed them to the stairs found that the people had disappeared—not to another floor, but there was no trace of them going up or down.

"Could there be something wrong with the stairs?" One of them stared at the steps beneath his feet. Before he could investigate further, a black substance, like a liquid, quickly covered his feet. The next second, he stumbled down a few steps to the landing below.

Initially thinking it might be a trap set by the Fish Feast itself, the player immediately realized what was happening when faced with the sudden spiritual interference. But before he could react, a Materialized Object easily pierced through his foot and leg, all the way up to his abdomen.

The player stumbled a few steps in pain, clutching his stomach, and then vomited a large amount of blood.

Seeing this, the other two players didn't hesitate to turn back. They didn't even bother to find out who killed him or how. In the end, only one corpse remained on the stairs between the fourteenth and fifteenth floors.

Xu Huo collected the belongings and had the Painting Woman help take all the props and instruments from the body. Then he threw the corpse down to the fourteenth floor.

Instead of going back to the fifteenth floor to wander around, they bypassed that floor and went to the sixteenth.

Unexpectedly, they ran into someone setting up a gambling game. The bet was a bowl of food whose original ingredients could no longer be identified. The rule was: don't win this round. Whoever wins has to eat it. So, the goal was to do everything possible to lose.

It was a pretty interesting gambling game, attracting many players to watch.

"Where does the Fish Feast get so many dark cuisine dishes?" Xu Huo squeezed in to watch the excitement, and like everyone else watching, he asked the person next to him.

"Players make them themselves. I heard eating one makes you regret being human." The player next to him answered his question while egging on the people gambling.

The gambling game was simple. They needed to cut a piece of skin from a bound player who still had some freedom of movement. The larger the cut, the more likely you were to win.
