Chapter 1899: Cyclic Space

The moment Xu Huo stepped into the corridor, he immediately sensed something was wrong. The corridor that should have led straight to the laboratory had become abnormally long, and the walls on both sides were covered with the same strange patterns—those patterns seemed to be alive, wriggling slightly.

He stopped, carefully observing his surroundings. This was no ordinary corridor; the space here had been tampered with, forming a closed loop. He could feel the fluctuation of spatial power, a power that was both familiar and unfamiliar.

"Interesting," Xu Huo muttered softly, reaching out to touch the wall. The moment his fingertip made contact, the pattern suddenly came to life, transforming into countless tiny tentacles that lashed toward him.

Xu Huo reacted swiftly, retreating several steps in an instant, but the tentacles seemed to have a life of their own, relentlessly chasing after him. He frowned, a sharp gleam flashing in his eyes.

"Space Ray Blade!"

With a low shout, a blade formed of spatial power appeared in his hand, and he swung it forward. The blade sliced through the air, cutting the tentacles into two sections. The severed tentacles writhed on the ground, then quickly dissolved into black smoke and vanished.

But before Xu Huo could catch his breath, the corridor suddenly began to twist. The walls, ceiling, and floor all warped, as if the entire space had turned into a twisted Rubik's Cube. He felt his body being pulled in different directions by various forces, even his sense of direction becoming confused.

"Space evolution ability?" Xu Huo's gaze grew serious. This was no ordinary spatial distortion; it was a deliberate trap set by someone. He steadied himself, activating his spatial perception to probe the surroundings.

Soon, he discovered that this space was not truly infinite but was formed by overlapping multiple spatial fragments. Each fragment was an independent small space, connected in a specific order, creating this seemingly endless loop.

"To break this space, I need to find the connection points between these fragments," Xu Huo thought to himself, beginning to move forward cautiously. He walked while using spatial power to sense the subtle changes around him.

After walking about a hundred meters, he suddenly felt a slight fluctuation in the space ahead. He stopped, carefully examining the area. There, a nearly imperceptible crack appeared on the wall.

"Found it."

Xu Huo's eyes lit up, and he immediately gathered spatial power in his hand, forming a sharp blade. He slashed hard at the crack, and with a "crack," the wall split open, revealing a dark passage behind it.

Without hesitation, Xu Huo stepped into the passage. The moment he entered, the scene before him suddenly changed. He found himself in a huge hall, the center of which stood a strange device.

The device was shaped like a giant clock, covered with dense runes. At the center of the clock was a pointer that kept spinning, and each time it turned, the surrounding space would twist slightly.

"So that's how it is," Xu Huo suddenly understood. "This device is the core of the entire space loop. As long as it's destroyed, the loop will be broken."

He was about to step forward when a voice suddenly rang out from behind him.

"You finally made it."

Xu Huo turned around and saw a man in a black robe standing not far away, his face obscured by a mask, only a pair of cold eyes visible.

"Who are you?" Xu Huo asked cautiously.

"You don't need to know who I am," the man said coldly. "All you need to know is that this is your grave."

As his words fell, the man suddenly raised his hand, and a powerful spatial fluctuation erupted from his palm. Xu Huo felt the surrounding space instantly solidify, as if he were trapped in an invisible cage.

"Space Lock!" Xu Huo's expression changed slightly. He didn't expect the other party to have such a powerful spatial ability. He quickly mobilized his own spatial power, trying to break free from the lock.

But the man's strength was clearly above his, and no matter how hard he struggled, he couldn't break free.

"Don't waste your energy," the man said coldly. "My spatial ability is not something you can contend with."

Xu Huo's gaze flickered, and he suddenly smiled. "Is that so?"

As his words fell, a strange light suddenly flashed in his eyes. The next moment, his figure flickered and instantly disappeared from the spot.

The man was startled, hurriedly scanning his surroundings, but Xu Huo was nowhere to be found.

"Impossible!" the man exclaimed in disbelief. "How could you break free from my Space Lock?"

"Because I never intended to break free," Xu Huo's voice came from behind the man. "I just used a little trick."

The man turned around sharply and saw Xu Huo standing behind him, holding a dagger glowing with cold light in his hand.

"You—" Before the man could finish his words, Xu Huo had already made his move. The dagger in his hand transformed into a streak of cold light, stabbing straight at the man's chest.

The man reacted quickly, instantly summoning a spatial barrier in front of him. But to his surprise, the dagger passed straight through the barrier as if it didn't exist, stabbing into his chest.

"How... is this possible..." The man looked down at the dagger in his chest, his eyes filled with disbelief.

"Because this dagger is not an ordinary weapon," Xu Huo said calmly, pulling out the dagger. "It's a Space Item that can ignore any spatial barrier."

The man's body swayed, then collapsed heavily to the ground. As he fell, the surrounding space began to twist violently, and the entire hall started to collapse.

Xu Huo knew that this space was about to collapse, and he had to leave immediately. He quickly ran toward the exit, and just as he rushed out, the hall behind him completely collapsed, turning into a void.

Standing in the corridor again, Xu Huo took a deep breath. He knew that although he had broken this space loop, the real danger was far from over. The man in black was just a pawn; the mastermind behind the scenes had yet to reveal themselves.

"Looks like I need to be more careful," Xu Huo muttered to himself, then continued walking forward.
