Chapter 1862: You'd Better Actually Have Melissa
The pink-haired man's first instinct was to kill, but when he moved to strike, he discovered a transparent barrier between himself and Juan Er. His hand couldn't pass through, and no matter what angle he attacked from, his items couldn't harm the other person.
"Brother, don't be so hot-tempered. Being able to share a bed is fate—how can a person harm their bedmate?" Juan Er provoked him without any concern for the consequences.
The pink-haired man was so furious he pounded the bed with both fists, startling Brother Wu and the slicked-back man who were carrying it, causing them to hastily speed up.
The pink-haired man had killed quite a few people in the Polar Safe Zone, and the players there certainly wouldn't let him leave easily. They immediately gave chase.
Although the two lying side by side on the bed couldn't attack each other, that didn't stop them from attacking others. The pink-haired man's combat power was explosive, actually beating back the pursuing players until they had no choice but to temporarily avoid his edge and instead target the large bed.
However, the bed was surprisingly sturdy. Repeated attacks failed to damage it. At this point, Xu Huo lent a hand, directly moving the bed and its occupants outside the city while simultaneously blocking the Polar Safe Zone players.
Once everyone was out of the city and had run far enough with their backs to the Polar Safe Zone, they finally stopped.
By then, Juan Er's trait duration had expired. He leaped up with a flip to dodge the pink-haired man's attack, then pointed at Xu Huo. "He told me to do it! If you want someone to blame, blame him!"
The pink-haired man's eyes were bloodshot, and he looked like he wanted to devour Xu Huo alive. But Xu Huo had no intention of fighting him. Instead, he pointed at the other man, then at the people around himself. "There are so many of us. What do you think your chances are?"
"Let me remind you—Space Teleportation Items can't be used."
Without Space Teleportation Items and trapped inside an Instance, it meant the players' range of movement was extremely limited. With many against one, a victor would eventually emerge.
"If you die here, the people from Zone 010 would certainly be very happy."
The pink-haired man's eyes swept over Deng Xiahei and the others. He quickly calmed down, no longer dwelling on being forcibly taken away, and stared directly at Xu Huo. "You'd better actually have Melissa."
Xu Huo wasn't intimidated. He signaled Deng Xiahei and the others to find a place to rest and replenish their strength, then said, "Even if I find Melissa, I won't hand her over to you."
The pink-haired man let out a cold laugh. "If you won't give her to me, you'll have to give her to the Zone 010 people eventually. Melissa's Instance clearance mission can't be as simple as just finding her. Since she's a Newborn from Zone 010, it's impossible for her not to interact with Zone 010. You refuse to produce the real one now, but you'll have to sooner or later. Are you going to stay here and watch that child grow up?"
"What grudge do you have against Zone 010?" Juan Er cut in. "You said Melissa is Zone 010's hope for reproduction, yet you insist on killing her right in front of them. That's like wiping out their entire lineage. If you have a grudge against Zone 010 players, don't take it out on innocent people—especially a child."
"Shut the hell up!" the pink-haired man roared.
Juan Er shrugged. "If you've got the skill, come kill me. What I did actually helped you. Otherwise, once those Zone 010 players finish dealing with the people from the Sand Sea Safe Zone, they'll come back for you. Then you won't be able to escape, and all your grudges and hatred will be for nothing."
The pink-haired man's chest heaved with rage. Just then, the young player asked an irrelevant question. "Brother, do you like men?"
Juan Er nearly choked on his own saliva. His face darkened. "Are you so bored you have to spread rumors?"
The young player grinned. "No, it's just that your vibe seemed... well..."
Juan Er snorted. "Does liking sexy lingerie make someone gay? Stop looking at people through tinted glasses. I used to be a celebrity and even ran my own company. The lingerie brand I founded was a huge hit back in my hometown—both men and women loved it."
"Respect other people's hobbies, got it?"
The young player smiled and said nothing more.
Juan Er brought the topic back, extremely curious about why the pink-haired man hated Zone 010 so much. However, the pink-haired man found a spot to sit down, closed his mouth, and refused to speak again.
"Is this something you can't talk about?" Juan Er showed no sign of giving up. "We're not from Zone 010. Maybe if you tell us, we can help. When it comes to revenge methods, I've acted in movies with all kinds of tricks—I guarantee I can make someone wish they were dead, even drive them to suicide!"
The pink-haired man still didn't respond. On the other side, Xu Huo, who had just finished drinking water, added, "He thinks you've defiled his purity and wants to draw a clear line with you this way."
That one sentence successfully broke the pink-haired man's composure. But Xu Huo's next words calmed him down again. "Aren't you loyal to your girlfriend? Not casually lying in the same bed with someone else is basic respect—for both men and women."
Juan Er looked shocked, then spread his hands. "I've got nothing to say. I really can't understand your way of thinking. I'm going to eat."
The group finally settled down. The young player introduced himself—not with his real name, but with his player alias:
"Radiant Emissary. Remember that name. One day, I'll appear on the list of the strongest A-rank players."
The young player really did look very young. Deng Xiahei asked, "Didn't you get plastic surgery? Otherwise, at your age, how could you possibly be a B-rank player?"
"There are so many wrinkle-removal potions in the game now, and besides, I naturally look young." The young player dodged the question and steered the topic back to the pink-haired man. "What do you think his grudge is against Zone 010? With his skills, it should be hard for Zone 010 people to offend him to this extent."
Among those present, aside from the young player, everyone else had heard the pink-haired man's endless talk about his love for his girlfriend. They roughly understood that his girlfriend had likely died in Zone 010, and he had come specifically for revenge.
"Hating an entire district because of his girlfriend's death, even targeting children." The young player rubbed his chin. "As expected of a player."
The others caught the sarcasm. Deng Xiahei slapped him on the shoulder. "That name of yours is hard to call—sounds like joining a cult. I'll call you Xiao Hui instead. You were getting pretty chummy with that bald guy earlier. Are you also on the Melissa Instance?"
The young player, forced to accept the name change, didn't mind. Instead, he grinned. "Of course. He thought he was hiding it well, didn't he? Wasn't he just waiting by the Polar Safe Zone like a rabbit by a tree stump?"
"Of course, I had the same idea," Xiao Hui said, glancing at Xu Huo. "I didn't expect to be so lucky. I didn't even have to look—Melissa just delivered herself to me!"
Now everyone was very concerned about one thing: whether Xu Huo had actually found the real Melissa. But he remained composed and still didn't take the bait. Instead, he asked, "Did you know he left the Polar Safe Zone in the middle of everything?"
