Chapter 1700: Copying the Ticket

As the two main characters of the arena match hadn't made a move, the others naturally had to obediently wait within the range of the trait. Although they had long known this arena wouldn't disappear, when they looked again after dawn the next morning, everyone couldn't help but feel secretly astonished.

Probably because they had never seen such a long-lasting trait—over eight hours had already passed.

"Your trait isn't going to last forever, is it?" the Skyward Pigtail player tentatively asked the Hat player.

The Hat player just smiled without speaking.

Xu Huo at least managed to rest for a while. After waking up, he stretched, opened the menu, and ordered some food.

"Such a lavish breakfast so early in the morning, with meat and soup." The Skyward Pigtail player spoke with a hint of envy, but couldn't help adding, "Aren't you afraid someone might tamper with it?"

Xu Huo found a table and sat down, glancing at him. "Do you think it's more important to tamper with my food to help your partner, or to keep your own life safe?"

The Skyward Pigtail player was startled. "Don't talk nonsense!"

"Whether you're train robbers or not, and whether you succeed in robbing the train, doesn't matter much to me. I only have one request—don't bother me." Xu Huo looked at him, then glanced at the Fire-Borrowing female player still in the room. "What do you think?"

This was undoubtedly a public revelation that the two knew each other and were indeed train robbers. Then he continued, "Where is your dead companion now? If I'm not mistaken, it was him who used water to kill that female player. Last night, he quietly slipped away through the conductor's passage, but he didn't turn on the lights or damage the carriage when the mutant group boarded. That means your communication was smooth. Please inform me in advance—don't sprinkle water into the carriage anymore."

The Skyward Pigtail player and the Fire-Borrowing female player's first reaction was, of course, to deny it. But for some reason, when they met Xu Huo's eyes, they suddenly felt as if their throats were blocked. The instinctive sense of danger sent chills down their spines, and even after they came to their senses, they couldn't utter a single word.

"So you really are the train robbers!" the Broken Finger player said coldly, staring at them. "I wonder how many of your companions are on this train—enough for all of us to share?"

At this point, whether or not the two were train robbers, they were bound to be ostracized by the other players. So without another word, the Skyward Pigtail player and the Fire-Borrowing female player withdrew from the carriage. Standing in the transition car, the latter glared at Xu Huo and said, "Since you're so capable, why were you pretending to be a coward?"

Xu Huo didn't bother to respond, leaving the Fire-Borrowing female player in an awkward position. She dropped her words and turned to leave, but who would have thought that the middle of the transition car was blocked? She and the Skyward Pigtail player both slammed into the arena barrier, stumbling back a couple of steps as they reached out to paw at the air in front of them.

An invisible wall stood before them. Naturally, the two didn't just stand there staring; they took turns using various props, but unfortunately, they still couldn't open a passage.

After exchanging a glance, they slightly distanced themselves from each other, adopting a defensive posture, and then looked at the Hat player inside the carriage.

The Hat player, maintaining his composure, brewed himself a cup of tea and said unhurriedly, "I'm only interested in the match between those two. You're just incidental. Since you're standing on the black side, you should watch from here. How can you switch sides midway?"

It was clear both players had a bellyful of curses. The Skyward Pigtail player said, "You can't retract your trait, can you? A trait this strong must have limits. You've designated them as the main characters, but if they don't fight, you can only sit and watch!"

"You guessed pretty accurately." The Hat player shrugged. "So I have no choice either. Either you find a way to break through the suspension barrier in the middle."

The Fire-Borrowing female player instinctively looked at Xu Huo, who at that moment also turned back to glance at them.

"Spoke too soon with those harsh words," the Scarred Brow player said with a laugh.

What else could the Fire-Borrowing female player and her companion do? They could only each occupy one side of the carriage door, on guard against an attack from Xu Huo.

The mechanical dining cart soon delivered Xu Huo's ordered dishes. As he ate, he conversed with the Golden Eye player.

Of course, it wasn't face-to-face conversation, since both were sitting by the window and couldn't even see each other's figures. But that didn't hinder their communication—after all, they could still hear each other.

Xu Huo had little doubt about the Golden Eye player's identity as a bounty hunter, and he highly affirmed his professional ethics. After all, when Xu Huo offered the same price, the other didn't even hesitate. Although Xu Huo might not actually pay that money, the fact that he remained unmoved by temptation showed he was a man of principle.

Xu Huo was more curious about how he had managed to follow him. "As far as I know, a temporary pass doesn't have the function of tracking others. It can't be such a coincidence that we both happened to choose the nearest train, can it?"

The Golden Eye player didn't respond, clearly unwilling to answer that question. But the Broken Finger player, who had boarded with them, said, "I've heard about this. There are some special rewards in the game, one of which is similar to a ticket function. It can copy the nearest player's ticket within a certain time frame without having a ticket yourself. I've heard this kind of reward only appears in the clearance records of players with very high ticket consumption. Bounty hunters fit that condition well."

Xu Huo understood. Special rewards, like the Light Gentleman Medal and the Pure Heart.

"How many times can this kind of reward be used?" he asked.

"It should only be usable once, unless he obtains the reward multiple times," the Broken Finger player said.

"Bounty hunter, do you have any more?" Xu Huo asked into the air.

The Golden Eye player didn't care about his probing at all and instead said, "As long as the item is still in your hands, whether I have it or not, I can find you."

"A bounty hunter's mission has no time limit."

Xu Huo calmly finished his meal, then began to look into the upcoming district instance.

He had chosen the ticket in advance within the Chaos Space. While selecting, he had briefly researched the district corresponding to the ticket. So the district he was about to arrive at was a high-level instance district, also featuring random instances.

He had chosen this ticket originally to guard against the Golden Eye player appearing just as he was about to head to the instance district. But unexpectedly, this guy had latched onto him. It seemed he would inevitably enter the district together.

D03-019, Green Sunshine Station.

According to information found under the Dimension, there were many instances near this station. As for which instance the ticket represented, he would only know after getting off the train based on the prompts.

However, quite a bit of information could be found about District 019. This district was the origin of a very rare type of green gemstone. Relying solely on gem exports could provide the entire district with a life of abundance, making it a relatively technologically advanced district.

Sufficient money could drive any industry. District 019 had abundant mineral resources, and the landscape, along with the evolved plants, had been somewhat affected, giving rise to some very unique sights. This was enough to boost tourism. The wealthy District 019 government generously met the needs of local tourism infrastructure. Whether it was transportation, accommodation, or the corresponding food and entertainment industries, they all developed at the fastest pace with the support of money.
