Chapter 1527: There Are Plenty of Villains in the Game

Xu Huo walked forward, and the raincoat player followed, introducing himself along the way.
His name was Wen Dacheng, his profession was hotel management, he was twenty-five years old, unmarried, had previously dated three boyfriends and three girlfriends, advocated for Platonic love, and all six of his past partners had died by his hand.
“You have a habit of killing your exes?” Xu Huo was curious about his mental state.
“Just breaking up, no, no, not at all,” Wen Dacheng quickly waved his hand. “I killed them because they deserved to die.”
“What do you think is the most important thing in a relationship?” he asked Xu Huo.
“Loyalty?” Xu Huo glanced at him.
“Exactly!” Wen Dacheng clapped his hands. “Tell me, if a person can’t even be loyal to their lover, do they deserve to live?”
“One second they’re whispering sweet nothings to me, the next they’re in someone else’s bed, and they still have the audacity to say they love me. Is love that cheap? If you can’t make it work, just break up! Why pull that kind of disgusting stunt?”
“So I made them understand that betraying love comes with a price.”
Xu Huo nodded slightly. “Quite a conviction.”
Seeing that Xu Huo didn’t show any strange reaction, Wen Dacheng became even more enthusiastic. “How about I tell you how they died? To punish them, each one was different!”
Xu Huo explicitly stated he wasn’t interested, then added, “You could consider finding a player as a partner.”
Wen Dacheng shook his head. “Finding a player is no fun. Once they run off, where do you find them? Besides, whether they live or die doesn’t matter; what matters is that I hold a grudge.”
That made some sense.
Xu Huo stopped walking. “We’ve already walked three streets and haven’t encountered any other players, nor have we found any trace of the second layer of mirror space.”
Wen Dacheng was truly clueless. “The Under Dimension didn’t say how to pass through mirror space either. Usually, you just end up inside without realizing it. Besides, I’m not a Super Evolver; I don’t understand spatial power at all.”
He looked at Xu Huo sincerely. “Brother, I’m counting on you.”
Xu Huo glanced at him without saying much, then changed direction and continued forward. Unexpectedly, after only a few hundred meters, new players appeared within the Cube Space range.
He instantly teleported over, followed a player up a nearby residential building, and arrived at a house door, only to find that the room was filled with young people trapped by a prop.
The residential building wasn’t particularly luxurious, but the young girls living in this large apartment were huddled in the living room, barely clothed. Nearby, another player was eating while scrutinizing them, his gaze as if it could peel a layer of skin off them.
When the other player opened the door, the one who had finished eating wiped his mouth, casually grabbed one of the girls by the hair, and dragged her toward a room, saying, “You keep watch outside.”
Xu Huo also entered the door, but under the influence of a small-scale spiritual power, the two didn’t notice his presence. Standing by the door for two seconds, the throat of the man dragging the girl suddenly had a piece missing. Judging by the mark, it looked like a human bite, but there was no one in front of him.
There were many ways to hide one’s form in the game. The injured player covered his spurting throat and casually threw the girl in his hand forward. Sure enough, the girl was caught mid-air by someone. Roughly determining the opponent’s position, the injured player immediately used a prop to attack.
With a few “bang bang bang” sounds, the two sides exchanged props. With his throat injured, the man wanted to quickly use a Self-Healing Agent, so he dodged behind his companion. But the ambushing player was specifically targeting him, bypassing the companion and charging straight at him from behind. With a “crack” of bone breaking, the injured player couldn’t hold on and collapsed, only to receive another kick.
However, in the end, he managed to turn the tables, using a prop to injure the invisible player’s leg, forcing them to reveal themselves.
The one retreating was a short female player. Using her body weight, she braced one foot against the ground and popped her dislocated ankle back into place. But this brief moment gave the other player an opportunity, and the force from his prop sent her flying into the wall.
“Bang!”
“Bang!”
The man pressed forward relentlessly, smashing through the wall several times in a row, forcing the female player to roll to the window. Then he used another prop to make the glass window disappear, and the female player, unable to stop her momentum, rolled straight out!
The trapped girls in the room screamed in shock, but the male player was very cautious. He didn’t approach the window but used a prop to check the situation below.
However, at that moment, a rope suddenly shot up from below, quickly wrapping around his feet. Then, uncontrollably, he fell out of the window, while the female player was pulled back up.
Their positions swapped. The female player turned and poured a large bucket of liquid downward. The pungent smell and the hissing sound of corrosion came out simultaneously. Hearing the fallen player curse, the rope automatically retracted into the female player’s hand.
Only then did she turn back to the girls in the room and say, “Alright, you’re safe now.”
Just then, Wen Dacheng caught up. “Why are you walking so fast? Wait for me…”
Before he could finish, he stopped, quickly assessed the situation in the room, walked over, and kicked the dying player hard. “You’re supposed to be human, so why don’t you act like one!”
Seeing the man dead, the female player across from him frowned.
Wen Dacheng explained, “I didn’t mean to. I’ll give you the prop later.”
The female player stared at him coldly, but Wen Dacheng just smiled and said, “I’m not the type to take advantage of others. If you don’t believe me, ask my brother.”
He pointed at Xu Huo.
Xu Huo had come out when Wen Dacheng entered. He didn’t say anything, just pointed at the female player’s mouth.
The female player wiped the blood from her lips and said indifferently, “The dead one was a villain. There are plenty of villains in the game. Red players don’t lack for food.”
There were many who were forced to become Cannibal Players, and like Black Players and White Players, Cannibal Players were a recognized player classification in the game. There was no conflict between player identities.
Wen Dacheng wasn’t the type to hunt down Cannibal Players on sight. He asked curiously, “So how did you become a Cannibal Player?”
The female player looked at them. “I bit my mom.”
“It wasn’t intentional. When I was evolving, something went wrong. I bit through the wooden stick I had prepared while convulsing. My mom was afraid I’d bite my own tongue, so in a panic, she stuck her hand into my mouth.”
She snorted. “I’d rather have bitten my own tongue off. Being mute is better than being a Cannibal Player.”
Wen Dacheng pointed at the corpse by his feet. “Are you hungry now?”
The female player said expressionlessly, “Only those who have lost their reason go on a feeding frenzy. Cannibal Players don’t actually need to eat that much.”
