Chapter 1175: Technology from an A-Class Wormhole Point
The captured shadow struggled for a moment, but after Xu Huo pulled it a second time, it still gathered from around the stage and finally condensed into a human figure in his hand, standing obediently in place.
The magician stared at him in shock, "Do you have a split personality?"
Xu Huo released his grip and let the shadow personality go, turning back to ask, "Is that strange?"
The magician's eyes flickered, as if judging something, before he said after a moment, "People with split personalities usually have unstable spiritual worlds and cannot undergo super evolution in the mental aspect. You can't possibly have a split personality."
"Whatever you say." Xu Huo was indifferent. "But we've already fought three times, all draws. You can't do anything to me for the time being, so let's talk another time."
"You held back just now," the magician said. "If I kept pestering you, it would make me seem ungrateful." He waved his hand, and the magic stage disappeared.
The two returned to the pure white spiritual world.
"Not at all," Xu Huo said with a slight smile. "You didn't go all out against me either."
"But I must obtain the Magician's Gift," the magician stated. "I can trade it for two A-Class items."
Xu Huo raised an eyebrow, "Is that playing card really worth that much?"
"It might not be to others, but it is to me," the magician said firmly. "But don't think you can jack up the price. This is the best offer I can make."
"It seems you really aren't a magician." Xu Huo paused. "Your desire for the Magician's Gift must be related to the real magician, but among the super players, no one has the title of Magician."
"The Magician's Gift came from the hands of an A-Class player," the magician explained. "He was very famous twenty years ago, with strength rivaling super players. However, for some unknown reason, he suddenly vanished without a trace. The Magician's Gift is an item he left behind in the game world."
"This playing card is actually a key. There's a suspected A-Class instance left by the magician that requires the 'Magician's Gift.' My profession is also a magician. If that A-Class magician really left an inheritance, it would be a priceless fortune for me."
Xu Huo currently didn't have the strength to challenge an A-Class instance. He thought for a moment, "How did you find me?"
"Just a coincidence," the magician said. "You've seen the item description. The target the 'Magician's Gift' was sent to is exactly the person that A-Class magician was tracking. Once this item is sent out for the first time, it brands the person and cannot be removed unless that person dies. And I happen to know the tracking method."
"I've studied the magician's past battle records. The cube you used was something he once used. When both items appear together, the reason is obvious."
Xu Huo nodded slightly, "I got both items from a wanted criminal."
"Then the wanted criminal you killed should be the person the magician was tracking. But the magician hasn't shown up in twenty years, dead or alive, so he never had the chance to reclaim his things." The magician said with some emotion.
"Not necessarily," Xu Huo said. "Maybe he went into seclusion to get married and have kids."
"That's the famous magician! How could he be like an ordinary person!" The magician wearing the moth mask became a bit agitated. "Not even reclaiming lost things? Where's his dignity?"
"I think dignity might not be that important." Xu Huo timely ended this topic and instead asked about the cube space, "You're very familiar with the magician's items? I have a question. Why isn't the power range of the cube affected by high-level temporal-spatial items?"
The magician looked slightly surprised, "Only temporal-spatial items have incompatible characteristics. The cube you obtained is an instrument created with advanced technology, said to come from an A-Class wormhole point. It's a relatively stable spatial state, similar to normal game zones. Have you ever seen any temporal-spatial item that could interfere with or destroy the temporal-spatial order of a game zone?"
"Even super items can only cause a certain impact in an extremely short time. They can't make a zone's spacetime collapse."
Just the fact that it wasn't affected by the incompatible characteristics of temporal-spatial items made Xu Huo feel that the cube space was actually similar to the Subclass Stone "Eternal Time." So hearing that the cube space was actually an instrument felt reasonable, but it was unexpected that it was a technological instrument, suspected to come from an A-Class wormhole point.
If an A-Class wormhole point could create such an instrument, then they could also produce some temporal-spatial instruments for ordinary people to use. The power of temporal-spatial instruments and items was obvious to all. This probably meant that in those wormhole points that entered the game first, not only could the game government and zone governments use technology to control players, but even ordinary people had the power to resist.
It was like a martial arts master carrying a cold weapon. If his opponent was an ordinary person holding a gun, the outcome would still be uncertain.
The magician, also a player, could understand his mindset, "Items like that cube, ordinary players can't use their full power either. And such items won't be the only ones. Where there's defense, there's attack."
Xu Huo accepted his consolation for the time being and then said, "If it's an instrument, then there's no issue of it being owned or unowned."
The reason it couldn't be stored in the item slot might be because of the spatial power released by the cube.
"Seeing how skillfully you use it, owned or unowned is about the same." The magician wasn't very interested in the cube space. "The Magician's Gift isn't very useful to you, unless you're planning to enter an A-Class instance now. Your profession probably has nothing to do with magic, so I believe the magician's legacy isn't very appealing to you either."
"Saying that, do you believe it yourself?" Xu Huo asked with a smile.
Regardless of whether his profession could be linked to a magician, wouldn't the legacy of an incredibly powerful A-Class player be attractive enough?
But high returns came with high risks, and Xu Huo currently had no plans to challenge instances beyond his level.
"Aren't two A-Class items enough?" the magician said quickly. "These are high-level items you can get without any risk. With your strength, plus a few high-level items, you can ensure no danger in same-level instances."
"To say I don't lack A-Class items... that would be an exaggeration." Xu Huo took out the "Magician's Gift," flipping the playing card back and forth between his index and middle fingers. After a moment, he looked up at the person across from him. "But your reasoning still can't convince me."
"I could sell it at a higher price, or keep it for myself. No one has obtained the magician's legacy in twenty years. I believe it won't matter if it's another year or two."
The flipping motion stopped. Xu Huo's expression returned to its usual cold demeanor. "Do you have any other reasons?"
