# Chapter 876: Sad? Go Die

To be honest, Bai Yang's request was quite simple. The person in his heart already had a rough outline—he was only missing a face.

But how could finding that face be so easy?

After all, Bai Yang had said, "You can't use a face from the real world." So where exactly were we supposed to create this face?

"Um... would a cartoon character work?" Jiang Ruoxue asked.

It seemed she had the same thought as me. If we couldn't use a real face, then perhaps only a cartoon character could fulfill the requirement.

"I haven't watched much animation either," Bai Yang said. "Can you find one?"

I understood what Bai Yang meant. Even if it was a completely made-up cartoon character, Bai Yang still needed to see that face.

"We can try to look for you," I said. "But the path you're taking is extremely rare. No one can guarantee success."

"I understand," Bai Yang said. "Whether it works or not, I'll remember this kindness."

After saying goodbye to Bai Yang, Jiang Ruoxue and I began our journey to find a "face."

This time Jiang Ruoxue had come to find me, and it would take several days before she could respawn back to her own room, so we still had some time.

But how difficult would it be to find a "face" in this vast city?

Especially a completely virtual cartoon face that didn't exist in the real world.

We searched through many buildings that looked like residential houses nearby, focusing our search on posters on the walls and bookshelves inside.

But every room here seemed to have been ransacked. The walls were full of cracks and burn marks. Paper products were severely damaged, most of them unidentifiable. The few intact ones we managed to find only had simple cartoon drawings—just basic lines outlining facial features. When I tried to imagine them on a real person's face, they just didn't match at all.

Just as we were at a loss, I suddenly remembered that strange snake.

Although I hadn't carefully looked through every book, now that I thought about it, a bookstore should have comic books, right? Even if not comics, there should be sketchbooks or drawing tutorials. Those would have completely fictional faces, which might help Bai Yang.

"Ruoxue, follow me."

I brought her to Di She's game venue, where we happened to see several tearful people walking out one after another, followed closely by a similarly teary-eyed Di She.

Jiang Ruoxue was confused by this bizarre scene.

"What's going on?" she asked. "Why is everyone crying?"

"Uh... it's hard to explain. I haven't been here in a while."

Seeing Di She reluctantly shaking hands and saying goodbye to a few people, I also found it absurd. Had the "Support Group" been established? But why did everyone look so sad?

Wasn't this place supposed to help people move past their sadness?

Di She turned around and saw me. He wiped his tears and shook his head. "I'd normally greet you, but I'm in a bad mood right now, so I'll pass."

"Wait... hold on..." I hurried forward. "Di She... I need your help with something. It won't take long..."

"Not now," Di She said sullenly. "I didn't expect to hear so many sad stories in one day. I'm in a terrible mood. But still... I have to thank you, you little brat, for the idea. After renaming it 'Support Group,' we did get a lot more people..."

"Sadness Support Group...?" Jiang Ruoxue seemed to be holding back a laugh, squeezing out a few words. "A misery contest?"

"You..." Di She glanced at Jiang Ruoxue, then sighed deeply. "What do you know, you little brat... Listening to other people's sad stories really makes you empathize... I'm going to cry for a while now. Don't talk to me."

"Wait, wait!" Jiang Ruoxue also hurried forward. "Di She, this is a bookstore, right? Do you have books?"

"Yes," Di She nodded.

"Can you lend us one?"

"No," Di She said.

"Huh...?" Jiang Ruoxue was taken aback.

"That won't work," I interjected. "I've dealt with him before. He won't lend out his books."

"Then what about just one page?" Jiang Ruoxue pressed.

"Little brat, no means no. Even if you want just a corner, it's a no," Di She said. "If you want to borrow a book from me, you'll have to join my 'Support Group' and come share sad little stories with me every day. Otherwise, leave. I'm really in a bad mood and don't want to argue with you."

Although both Jiang Ruoxue and I were seeing the fully formed "Support Group" for the first time, judging by how those people were crying when they left earlier, we knew this place wasn't for us.

"Hold on, hold on..." Jiang Ruoxue scratched her head. "Di She, how about this... Even though we can't join your 'Support Group,' I can offer you some other help."

"Other help...?"

Jiang Ruoxue nodded gently. "The fact that you came up with such a strange organization on your own means you're a pretty kind person, right?"

"I wouldn't say kind, but this organization is really important to me," Di She said.

"Regardless, the fact that you're willing to listen to other people's sad stories is admirable to me," Jiang Ruoxue continued. "So I thought of a way to help you stop being sad."

"Stop... being sad?"

"Yeah!" Jiang Ruoxue nodded. "I don't usually tell this method to just anyone. You could say it's my secret technique. If you want to hear it, you need to give us a sketchbook. Deal?"

I think I've said this more than once... I really admire Jiang Ruoxue.

Di She thought for a moment, then asked with some doubt, "Can you really help me stop being sad?"

Jiang Ruoxue didn't answer. She just reached out her hand. "The book."

Di She was silent for a moment, then nodded. "Wait here."

He walked into the bookstore and started searching, while Jiang Ruoxue and I waited outside. After a while, Di She's voice came from inside. "There are no more sketchbooks... Would a comic book work?"

"Yes!" Jiang Ruoxue answered from outside.

After a moment, Di She came out of the shop, holding a palm-sized comic book. Its packaging looked very old—it was called *20th Century Boys*.

"Here, this one. Does it work?" He handed the book to Jiang Ruoxue.

"Fine." Jiang Ruoxue took the book and nodded, then handed it to me.

I flipped through it briefly and noticed the characters were a bit different from regular comics—they had a little more realism. Hopefully, it would help Bai Yang.

"Tell me the method to stop being sad." Di She said with a sorrowful expression.

"Fool..." Jiang Ruoxue smirked. "Listen closely. If you feel sad... you could try dying."

Hearing this, I was startled, expecting Di She to explode and kill us both in the next second. But instead, he just paused briefly, then slowly nodded.

"Makes sense..." A grin gradually spread across his face. "If I feel sad, I can just go die! That's so right!"
