Chapter 775: Q&A Time

Qi Xia furrowed his brow, carefully studying Wei Yang's expression before decisively shaking off his hand.

Prioritize staying alive...?

That excuse was far too absurd.

When had the two of them ever developed a bond where they would save each other's lives?

"Qi Xia! You have to trust me! Find somewhere to hide!" Wei Yang's hoarse voice urged again. "If we don't leave now, it'll be too late."

Qi Xia looked up again at the impending black rain. He knew letting those black raindrops land on his head was hardly a wise decision; his only option was to find shelter.

No matter how he looked at it, this thing was like a Heavenly Level Moment, its danger far exceeding that of the Wei Yang standing before him.

The two of them took shelter in a dilapidated building just before the black rain fell. Every time Qi Xia tried to say something, Wei Yang raised a finger to silence him. Then, they heard the wind howling outside as the black rain began to pour.

Two "raindrops" pierced straight through the building's ceiling, hovering right above their heads.

It seemed the city's devastation—so complete it looked like the aftermath of both fire and earthquake, with countless houses collapsed and ruined—was inextricably linked to these "Heavenly Level Moments."

Qi Xia frowned and looked up. The two strange black raindrops hung silently in the air, neither falling nor drifting away.

Yet Wei Yang, standing before him, paid no attention to the black raindrops at all. Instead, he kept staring intently into Qi Xia's eyes.

"What... what is it..." Wei Yang muttered to himself. "Those eyes of yours... Damn it... Damn it..."

Qi Xia slowly narrowed his eyes. Though he had regained some memories, he still wasn't entirely clear on why Wei Yang had come here.

"Don't ask questions..." Wei Yang trembled all over, reaching out a hand covered in black blood to point at the black dots above. "The 'Heavenly Serpent Moment,' kid."

Hearing the words "Heavenly Serpent Moment," Qi Xia seemed to recall something. He looked up at the black dots. Sishi. The Heavenly Serpent Hour. It made sense.

The "Heavenly Dragon" seemed to be getting more impatient.

"People who meet during the 'Heavenly Serpent Moment' can ask each other questions..." Wei Yang bared his yellowed teeth and spoke to Qi Xia. "If the other person can't answer, this black bead will pierce through their skull. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity... It seems the 'Heavenly Serpent' was right—you're already beginning to change. If I don't get a clear answer from you now, I might never be able to read your mind again."

After hearing this, Qi Xia slowly broke into a manic grin. "So you made a deal with the Heavenly Serpent. No wonder you showed up here. Sounds like only one of us can walk out of this. How interesting."

Seeing this expression on Qi Xia's face, Wei Yang's expression seemed to freeze.

He had known Qi Xia for a long time, but he had never seen him look like this. It was as if he had become a completely different person.

Qi Xia looked up at the sky again and added, "You've got some nerve, coming to face me at a time like this."

"You..." Wei Yang, seeing Qi Xia like this, slowly swallowed his saliva. He had no idea what had happened to Qi Xia.

Right now, Qi Xia didn't look human anymore. These were signs of becoming a "god," but he also seemed insane.

"The 'Heavenly Serpent Moment,'" Qi Xia nodded. "At times like this, if two people standing together ask, 'What is this thing?' the person next to them dies a violent death. What a tyrannical 'Moment.' The 'Heavenly Dragon' seems to be in more of a hurry than I thought."

"You know quite a bit..." Wei Yang pursed his lips. "It's only been a few days since we last met... and you've already become like this."

Hearing this, Qi Xia's smile grew even wider.

"It seems these 'black dots' only allow each person to ask one question. Otherwise, you wouldn't be so cautious with your words," Qi Xia said. "This really is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I suggest you ask me your question now, or you'll regret it."

Wei Yang thought for a moment, then said, "Forget it... I won't ask."

He knew that asking Qi Xia a question wasn't the important part; what mattered was that if Qi Xia spoke next, it could very well cost him his life.

"I'd better get going..."

Wei Yang's eyes darted nervously. His manic expression seemed to suddenly remember something, and he started walking toward the door. But Qi Xia obviously wasn't about to let him go. He blocked the entrance to the building, instantly turning the tables.

"You had to use the 'Heavenly Serpent Moment' just to 'read my mind'?" Qi Xia looked at Wei Yang with interest. "Neither you nor the 'Heavenly Serpent' can figure out what I'm thinking... How interesting."

"Damn it... That bitch, the Heavenly Serpent..." Wei Yang muttered, head down. "He only said I could come to you to clear up my doubts. He never said you'd be walking around with a pair of goat's eyes now..."

Qi Xia said nothing. He looked up at the black dot hovering above Wei Yang's head. Even if he had a thousand questions, he couldn't ask them right now.

Like, why did he show up here?

Like, how did he know the "Heavenly Serpent Moment" was about to fall?

And more importantly, what kind of deal had he made with the Heavenly Serpent?

"Ask your question," Qi Xia said. "I'll give you this chance. Ask, and then get the hell out."

Before Wei Yang could even speak, the look of defeat was already written all over his face. Even if he figured out Qi Xia's intentions now, what difference did it make...?

The transformation had already begun.

But on second thought, this might be his only chance to get a real answer out of Qi Xia. He had no choice but to think it over for a moment, steel his nerves, and speak: "Qi Xia... your ultimate goal in all this effort... is it to lead everyone out of here?"

As soon as the words left his mouth, the black raindrop above Wei Yang's head slowly drifted forward until it hovered right in front of Qi Xia's forehead. It trembled incessantly, as if poised to strike.

"No," Qi Xia answered decisively. "No one can leave this place."

The moment he answered, the black raindrop hovering at his brow quivered slightly, then burst into dust with a soft *bang*.

Qi Xia himself hadn't expected the crisis to be resolved so easily. He also hadn't expected that Wei Yang, a man who had preserved his memories here for so long, would ask such a stupid question.

But before he could say anything, Wei Yang suddenly lunged forward and grabbed him by the collar.

"You liar!!" Wei Yang roared. "I taught you all the tricks you know, and you're using them against me?!"

"Oh?" Qi Xia slowly raised an eyebrow. "I don't follow."

"Damn it!! How long are you going to keep lying to me?!" Wei Yang's emotions seemed completely out of control. "You never intended to take everyone out! Then what was the point of all my years of effort?! What was I waiting for, leaving your team and spending every day stuck in a farm that's like a living hell?!"

(Still bedridden, trying my best to update, schedule is erratic, please bear with me...)
