Chapter 620: She
Tianlong felt that Qi Xia's aura was growing stronger.
At the same time, his own train of thought was becoming clogged and muddled, to the point where even thinking was difficult.
"Not good..."
Tianlong knew that this "dream" was most likely already under Qi Xia's control.
"You could have just shown up and killed me, or defeated me with a more direct method," Qi Xia stared into his eyes and continued. "Why did you have to enter my dream?"
Tianlong glanced around, locked onto the direction of the window, then raised his right hand, gathered his energy, and suddenly struck out with a palm.
A tremendous blast of palm wind flew toward the window pane. After emitting a deafening sound, it only managed to leave a tiny crack in the glass.
Within seconds, the crack caused by the palm wind rapidly disappeared, and the glass returned to its original state.
"Such a solid mental defense..." Tianlong murmured to himself.
"So you lied to me after all." A cold smile gradually curled at the corner of Qi Xia's mouth. "Tianlong, are you afraid of me?"
"White Sheep, don't push me. If we end up in a mutually destructive struggle here, you'll be trapped in this place for the rest of your life," Tianlong said.
"How interesting. You enter my dream, and yet you say I'm pushing you."
Qi Xia stood up, and the chair beneath him instantly turned to dust.
"So what if I do push you?" he asked with a cold laugh. "Tianlong, are you trapped? Why don't you show yourself and kill me? Why did only your thoughts fly into my dream? Where is your 'physical body'?"
Hearing this, Tianlong looked at Qi Xia and let out a faint sigh.
The next second, a mouth suddenly appeared out of nowhere on his flat face.
"White Sheep, why bother?" Tianlong's lips moved slightly. "Do you want me to tear your heart and mind to shreds before you're willing to serve me?"
"Why bother...?" Qi Xia shook his head with a look of despair. "If I don't resist you, am I supposed to just let you control me? Is it possible that I have no choice, but you do?"
Tianlong was stunned for a long moment after hearing this, then slowly stretched the corners of his mouth into an extremely eerie smile.
"If that's the case... how long can you hold out?"
Smiling, he slowly spread his hand. Suddenly, a deafening sound erupted from the street outside the window.
Qi Xia walked slowly to the window and looked out. All the buildings outside were collapsing, and the ground was cracking open on a massive scale.
The cracks in the ground revealed an utterly pitch-black color, as if these buildings were constructed above a void.
Staring at the cracked ground, he felt his mind take another blow. All his thoughts turned into mush, tangled together, making it impossible to think at all.
Within a few minutes, everything outside the window was nothing but boundless darkness and a blood-red sky. In the distance, a clearly visible line demarcated the boundary between red and black.
And hanging in that sky was a khaki-yellow sun.
"Enough..." Qi Xia said. "Tianlong, doing this only makes me despise you more... You can't get rid of me, so you try to break my mind?"
"White Sheep, I have my position," Tianlong said. "I want you to willingly become my subordinate, or else I'd rather be trapped here with you."
"You seem pretty insane yourself," Qi Xia said. "Smashing the streets in my dream to pieces—do you think that will make me collapse and get trapped here?"
"Isn't that enough?" Tianlong's mouth slowly widened. "If you can still think at this level, how about I let you see Yu Nian'an again?"
"Heh." Tianlong's words made Qi Xia laugh. "Apart from destroying buildings in my dream and turning into a faceless Yu Nian'an, Tianlong, that's about the extent of your skill."
Tianlong said nothing, just gently waved his hand.
Suddenly, an enormous sound erupted from the sky. Qi Xia felt his ears ring with deafening noise.
A sense of unease flashed through his mind, and he turned around mechanically, staring at the sky outside the window.
At first glance, nothing seemed to have changed in the sky.
No...
Something had changed.
The "sun" was moving.
Since the sun had always been covered in thin black lines, he could now clearly see it rotating in place.
"What..."
"White Sheep, Yu Nian'an has been watching you all along. Can you feel it?"
That khaki-yellow sun slowly turned a full circle, causing Qi Xia's heart to skip a beat.
He felt as if he had seen the most terrifying thing in his life. Every hair on his body stood on end, and sweat instantly soaked his back.
That was no "sun" hanging in the sky at all—it was a giant eyeball floating above. It had now turned around, revealing its pitch-black pupil, staring down in horror.
And the thin black lines on its surface were clearly blood vessels spread across the eyeball. Since the eyeball had been facing away from him before, he had no idea what those black lines meant.
The blood vessels were too massive, always appearing pitch-black.
The eyeball, which should have been white, was now reflected as khaki-yellow under the blood-red sky.
That eyeball was far too enormous. Its pupil, like a vortex, was constantly contracting in the sky.
It was afraid.
"Tianlong... what kind of madman are you... what exactly..." Qi Xia's lips trembled slightly. No matter how hard he tried, he could never have imagined such a scene. Right now, his thoughts were utterly shattered, incapable of any reasoning.
"Yu Nian'an—how ridiculous, isn't it?" Tianlong came to Qi Xia's side, put an arm around his shoulder like an old friend, and pointed up at the sun. "White Sheep, how's your eyesight?"
Qi Xia didn't speak, just pressed his lips tightly together.
"Look closely!" Tianlong pointed at the sun in the sky, smiling at Qi Xia. "Do you see a tiny black dot at the bottom of that sun?"
"A... black dot?"
"Take a good look!" Tianlong's smile instantly turned manic. "That black dot—is it wearing a white dress?"
As soon as those words landed, an bone-chilling cold swept through Qi Xia's entire being.
"What did you say... you... you..."
"That black dot is Yu Nian'an's body!" Tianlong laughed loudly. "Only her eyeballs have been 'magnified'! She's just 'suspended in midair'! Don't you dare give up on her!!"
"Stop... stop talking..."
All the strings in Qi Xia's mind snapped at once, and his whole body trembled uncontrollably.
"Look!!" Tianlong grabbed Qi Xia's chin and forced his gaze toward the pupil in the sky. "She's just floating up there, neither dead nor alive, just watching you!!"
"No..."
"Wasn't the 'Tianma Moment' fun?!" Tianlong shouted. "We 'hardened' and 'overgrew' Yu Nian'an's hair, then 'tracked' her! Wasn't that fun?! Huh?!"
"Tianlong... you..."
Qi Xia's mind went completely blank. Only one thought remained.
Who can wake me up?
Who can save me?
In that instant, he suddenly felt a sharp sting on his left wrist.
He looked down—a burn mark was appearing out of nowhere on his left wrist, excruciatingly painful.
